Abstract

Kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelligence - AI) telah menjadi penemuan penting di abad ke-21. Penggunaan AI semakin meluas di berbagai bidang, termasuk pendidikan tinggi. AI telah memengaruhi pengajaran, pembelajaran, dan penilaian bahasa Inggris; hal ini jelas dari penggunaan pesat teknologi AI baru-baru ini dan ketersediaannya yang semakin meningkat. Para pendidik di seluruh dunia mengajukan berbagai pertanyaan tentang penggunaan AI dalam pendidikan secara lebih luas – tentang relevansi, tantangan, etika, dan akses terhadap teknologi tersebut. Hal itu menimbulkan minat berbagai peneliti untuk mendapatkan jawaban atas pertanyaan tersebut. Artikel ini memaparkan tinjauan terhadap penelitian terkait penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris selama tahun 2016-2024. Tinjauan tersebut mengidentifikasi empat bidang utama di mana AI digunakan dalam Pengajaran bahasa Inggris yakni pengembangan keterampilan berbicara, menulis, dan membaca, untuk mendukung pedagogi dan untuk pengaturan diri. Artikel ini melaporkan penelitian-penelitian terkait berdasarkan metode Literature Review. Tidak dapat disangkal, AI akan terus merambah ke berbagai bidang kehidupan manusia termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan pengajaran bahasa yang dapat mengubah cara dan metode pembelajaran bahasa di masa mendatang.

Abstract

The development of digital technology today has a major impact on various aspects of human life. In bridging intercultural communication, translation has a significant role that cannot be separated from the help of technology. Technology also has brought changes in the way translation is done, including helping individual translators to increase efficiency. For example, with the help of machine translation, Google Translate continues to develop transformers and AI. On the other hand, ChatGPT, built on artificial intelligence, allows translation. Both adopt NLP. This study aims to determine the quality of the translation of both based on the TQA proposed by House. In addition, it assesses the level of similarity of the translation results and errors that occur based on the translation technique used. Translation samples were selected based on purposive sampling techniques, namely from a report chapter available on the internet in English. The samples were translated into Indonesian using Google Translate (GT) and ChatGPT (CG) and then analyzed using TQA. The results show that GT and CG have high similarities and insignificant error rates. This is possible because GT and CG continue to be developed over time to respond to and translate languages that are increasingly natural and resemble human language.

Abstract

Hikayat Si Miskin is one of the classical Malay literary works that is rich in cultural and moral values. In this work, the use of metaphors is one of the main tools to convey symbolic messages and enrich the aesthetics of the story. This study aims to analyze the metaphors contained in Hikayat Si Miskin using a semiotic approach and classical literary studies. This study found that the metaphors in this text function to describe the social struggle, religiosity, and dynamics of the main character's life. For example, "poverty" in the story not only describes the material condition, but also becomes a spiritual symbol for the journey towards awareness and devotion to God. In addition, natural metaphors, such as "sea" and "mountain," are used to represent the challenges of life that must be faced by the main character. This analysis shows that Hikayat Si Miskin not only stores narrative richness, but also offers insight into how classical Malay society understands life and universal values. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the study of classical Malay literature and broaden appreciation of the use of metaphors in the Nusantara literary tradition.

Abstract

Training to Build Youth Integrity in the Mental Revolution in Bunut Village aims to achieve an evaluation mechanism, so that it can be seen how far the progress and efforts of these activities have been achieved. Likewise in this activity it also refers to the goals to be achieved, both the targets to be achieved in this activity and the final goal in the form of positive change impacts that arise with this activity. The positive results or impacts that arise can be in the form of changes in behavior or attitudes that are good, especially teenagers. High integrity will produce people who are disciplined and care about their surroundings and have integrity values that are the difference between people who have integrity or not. A person with a character of integrity will become a superior human being and will withstand the trials of life that he faces.

Abstract

This study investigates translation errors found in 100 undergraduate thesis abstracts sourced from five Indonesian universities, with particular attention to syntactic, semantic, and miscellaneous error types. The data were collected from institutional online repositories, and all identifying information related to the authors was removed to ensure anonymity. Only the main bodies of the abstracts were used as the corpus for analysis. The findings reveal that the majority of errors fall under the syntactic category, including incorrect use of tenses, prepositions, and punctuation. Semantic errors, such as literal translations, meaning deviations, and unnecessary additions, were also frequently observed. These errors largely stem from students’ limited understanding of English grammar and translation strategies. The study highlights the importance of strengthening translation competence in undergraduate curricula. By systematically identifying and analyzing these common errors, the research provides valuable insights for improving the teaching of academic translation and suggests the integration of targeted translation materials in English language instruction at the tertiary level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in the ability of Asahan University Semester I students in understanding the short story flow after participating in learning that is designed with the technique of rearranging flow visualization in learning after participating in learning with the technique of rearranging flow visualization. Through this research, students are expected to be able to understand the storyline well. In this classroom action research, students are said to be successful in learning if they have reached the classical learning completeness value of 75. The subject of this study is the Asahan University Semester I student. The research design used was the design of Class Action Research conducted in two cycles. Research data collection uses test techniques. The results of this study are that there is an increase in students' ability to understand the short story flow in students of Asahan University Semester I starting from cycle I and cycle II. Student grades increased from 77.72 to 84.39. This means an increase of 06.67%. The test results understand the short story flow of cycle I with an average value reaching 77.72 included in the sufficient category because it is in the range of 61-75. The test results understand the short story flow in cycle II obtained an average value of 84.39. Based on these data it can be seen that the average value is included in the good category which is in the range between 76-90. The achievement of the score means that it has fulfilled and even exceeded the set target and an increase.

Abstract

All Formal education is oriented towards the continuity of one's education to carry out formal learning activities from the pre-school level to the university level. This article asks about the involvement of non-formal education to fulfil the learning needs of students during the Covid-19 epidemic as a form of companion, complement, support and requirement. This article uses a qualitative descriptive design that takes the ideas, sources and theories based on reference books, related journals and experiences as well as from sources those who are experienced in their fields. So this article, the author states that the involvement of non-formal education is divided into two points, namely: 1) Direct involvements: a) extracurricular involvement, b) technology system involvement of subjects matters, c) involvement of school activity companions, d) involvement of supporting of vision and mission of the school. 2) Indirect involvements: a) involvement of companion learning resources needed, b) involvement of flexibility learning activities, c) involvement of potential trainers of students, d) involvement of pre-requisites for admission to favourite study and e) involvement the lifelong education's changement.

Abstract

Abstract: This community service activity is expected so that the community, especially students, understand the importance of understanding the use of application media. Increasing students' awareness of the importance of being literate in the world of technology, especially in this 5.0 era or its transition, humans must understand and use sophisticated technology, especially applications that support increasing their understanding of knowledge or intellectual abilities. The purpose of this community service is to provide experience and improve students' competency skills, both with the help of the quizwhizzer application media. Keyword: Quizwhizzer, Intellectual Ability Competency test, College Student  Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan agar masyarakat khususnya mahasiswa paham akan pentingnya dalam memahami penggunaan media aplikasi. Peningkatan kesadaran para mahasiswa akan pentingnya melek akan dunia teknologi terutama pada zaman 5.0 ini atau transisinya manusia harus memahami dan menggunakan teknologi canggih terutama aplikasi yang menunjang peningkatan pemahaman kemampuan pengetahun atau intelektual mereka. Abstract

Abstract: This study analyzes the metaphors in Chairil Anwar's poetry, which aims to (1) find out what metaphors are contained in Chairil Anwar's poetry. (2) To find out the metaphors in the poetry by Chairil Anwar. (3) To find out the reason the author uses the metaphor in his poem. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method. Descriptive analysis is used to get a careful description of the contents of the poem. The results of this study show that the metaphor contained in Chairil Anwar's poetry describes how deep human "surrender" is to God. However, I lyric in the poem is described as calmer and more mature in dealing with everything, including when he has to face death. This poem can teach that in fact no matter how hard we try or work, all paths of life and decisions are in His hands. The metaphorical meaning that Chairil Anwar reveals in his poetry is that the metaphor of defeat is very interesting to show; defeat is a symbol of surrender and is very thick with the smell of death. Poets use these words to compare things, that something is called the meaning of metaphor. The author uses metaphor in his poetry to compare things directly. Blooming roses and jasmine represent something beautiful and attractive. The metaphor used by the poet to describe the closeness between the poet and God in praying and relating to God. Keyword: Metaphor, Poetry, Chairil Anwar Abstrak: Penelitian ini menganalisis metafora dalam puisi Chairil Anwar yang bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui metafora apa saja yang terdapat dalam puisi Chairil Anwar. (2) Untuk mengetahui metafora yang terdapat dalam puisi karya Chairil Anwar. (3) Untuk mengetahui alasan pengarang menggunakan metafora dalam puisinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambaran yang cermat tentang isi puisi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metafora yang terdapat dalam puisi Chairil Anwar menggambarkan betapa dalamnya “penyerahan” manusia kepada Tuhan. Namun, I lirik dalam puisi tersebut digambarkan lebih tenang dan lebih dewasa dalam menghadapi segala hal, termasuk ketika harus menghadapi kematian. Puisi ini dapat mengajarkan bahwa sesungguhnya sekeras apapun kita berusaha atau bekerja, segala jalan hidup dan keputusan ada di tangan-Nya. Makna metafora yang diungkap Chairil Anwar dalam puisinya adalah bahwa metafora kekalahan sangat menarik untuk ditampilkan; kekalahan merupakan simbol penyerahan diri dan sangat kental dengan aroma kematian. Para penyair menggunakan kata-kata ini untuk membandingkan sesuatu, sesuatu itu disebut makna metafora. Pengarang menggunakan metafora dalam puisinya untuk membandingkan sesuatu secara langsung. Bunga mawar dan melati yang mekar melambangkan sesuatu yang indah dan menarik. Metafora digunakan penyair untuk menggambarkan kedekatan antara penyair dan Tuhan dalam berdoa dan berhubungan dengan Tuhan. Kata kunci: Metafora, Puisi, Chairil Anwar

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review focusing on learning models, strategies, and the design of digital teaching materials in the context of education in the digital era. Drawing from 38 peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2023, the research explores how digital technology has transformed pedagogical practices. The analysis reveals a strong emphasis on student-centered learning models, where students actively construct knowledge and develop problem-solving skills, rather than passively receiving information. Learning strategies such as problem-based, project-based, and research-based learning are widely promoted to foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. A key finding is the increasing adoption of blended learning, which combines face-to-face instruction with online platforms, thereby supporting more flexible and interactive educational experiences. However, the success of these strategies heavily depends on educators’ digital literacy, especially their competence in integrating technology with pedagogy and content. The design of digital teaching materials must also be aligned with learning objectives and students' needs. Effective materials incorporate diverse formats, such as infographics, videos, podcasts, and virtual labs, and are grounded in principles of relevance, consistency, and adequacy. The study concludes that digital pedagogy is becoming more widely implemented in Indonesia’s educational landscape. To ensure its effectiveness, educators must be equipped with adequate ICT skills, supported by proper infrastructure, and encouraged to collaborate with students for continuous improvement. With the right approach, digital technology can enhance educational outcomes, promote lifelong learning, and respond to the evolving needs of students in a technology-driven society
