Abstract

Liquified petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks are essential components for storing and distributing fuels. However, system failures due to inspection flaws increase the risk of leaks, fires, and explosions. Therefore, this study discussed the development of a safety system application applied to LPG storage tanks based on a risk-based leak (RBL) analysis. Data associated with risk factor values were obtained from an LPG storage tank in a gas distributor company. The risk of failure was calculated by analyzing the probability of failure (PoF) and the consequence of failure (CoF). The results showed that the level of risk observed was medium-high with a PoF in category 1 at a total damage factor value of 1. Furthermore, the CoF in category E was positioned with a consequence analysis value of 2381.29 m2 with an LPG storage tank life span of 33.5 years and an external inspection interval of five years.

Abstract

Issue related to legal protection policies for informal sector workers in Indonesia still leaves a lot of debate among our society. The basis of this employment is in Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower which is further perfected and becomes a new hope for workers in Indonesia, this hope is stated in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. However, the regulation needs to comprehensively regulate the existence of informal sector workers in Indonesia. Informal workers received no guarantees or protection; many had sum-proportional wages, were found to be physically ophysically abused, and had low welfare. This study aims to analyze legal protections for informal sector workers in Indonesia. This research is normative legal research that uses a legal and conceptual approach. The data used is secondary data consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out with a review literature study and then analyzed with a qualitative descriptive method. This study's results show that a legal vacuum (rechtsvacuum) regulates the existence of informal sector workers in Indonesia. It is inherent that informal sector workers receive more attention from the government as they are the largest group of workers in Indonesia. If analyzed with 'triadism law' theory, the current legal regulations in Indonesia are considered not to have fulfilled the elements of the purpose of law itself. Therefore, with that in mind to ensure the rights of informal sector workers, it is necessary to have clear rules and guarantee workers' rights including health insurance guarantees, legal umbrellas, environmental empowerment, welfare, and social protection.

Abstract

Eggroll snack workers often experienced subjective complaints on the waist, back, lower neck and upper neck, as well as the right forearm. This is caused by awkward work attitudes such as bending, looking down, standing and sitting for too long which is done repeatedly. This awkward work attitude is caused by non-ergonomic work facilities, such as a work desk that is too high or a work chair that is too short. So that subjective complaints experienced by workers can be minimized, it is proposed to redesign the work facilities of the eggroll snack production process based on ergonomic principles. The redesign includes 1) adding a support to the dough container with a height of 82.6 cm and can be raised and lowered; 2) redesign of the work table with a height of 64.5 cm, a width of 61 cm, a forward arm reach of 45.4 cm, and a redesign of a chair with a height of 70 cm and a side reach of 46.7 cm; and 3) the addition of product packaging supports with a height of 50.8 cm, chair height of 40 cm, and reach of the hands forward of 38.8 cm. The redesigned work facility is expected to be followed up by business actors, so that workers feel comfortable working, free from subjective complaints.

Abstract

The concept of a welfare state is closely related to poverty thresholds and minimum standards of public welfare. In fact, long before Goodin, Ass Brigss (1961) stated that the obligation of the welfare state is to improve the welfare of its citizens, which starts from the initial phase (origins) to the developing state (development) so that it leads to the welfare state. Thus, a welfare state is a state that exercises power to achieve goals that lead to the realisation of welfare for its people. The purpose of this research is to analyse the fulfilment of the rights of informal sector workers in terms of the concept of welfare state. This research is related to how the form of fulfilment of the rights of informal sector workers in Indonesia is regulated through Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower which is enhanced by Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation Law Number 40 of 2004 concerning the National Social Security System, Law Number 24 of 2011 concerning the Social Security Provider Agency. Normative legal research with a statutory and conceptual approach is used as a method in this research. The data used is secondary data containing primary and secondary legal materials. The data collection technique used is a literature review study which is then analysed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this research show that the Manpower Law which is then further regulated in the provisions of the Job Creation Law has not provided commensurate welfare to informal sector workers in Indonesia. This is certainly contrary to the provisions stipulated in the national social security system in order to realise a prosperous and socially prosperous country, so it is necessary to regulate this matter.

Abstract

One of the untapped potentials in Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency, lies in the sheep farming business. However, this endeavor has yet to reach its optimal potential due to the limited knowledge of breeders regarding sheep farming and marketing. To address this, mentoring activities were initiated for breeders in Tempursari Village, aiming to optimize their businesses through a green economy-based revolving livestock concept. The mentoring process commenced with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving four current breeders and two prospective breeders. This session delved into a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced and the aspirations for business development. As a result, a sheep farming group named 'Migunani' was established. The breeders received education on effective sheep farming practices and determining appropriate product sales prices. The mentoring activities concluded with the provision of assistance, which included ten 12-month-old sheep and seeds for fodder plants such as bb biogen, red napier, and pakchong, each comprising 300 stems. Supplying fodder plant seeds aims to enable farmers to cultivate their own feed, eliminating the need to graze elsewhere to meet the dietary requirements of the sheep.

Abstract

Small Press Machine Line A in the Stamping & Tools Division of PT. Mekar Armada Jaya produces car and body parts as effectively as possible to increase productivity. However, the performance of the machine and the maintenance system that is carried out is not comprehensive on aspects of the Small Press Machine and takes a long time, causing high machine downtime, this affects the smooth running of the production process. Therefore, measuring effectiveness uses Method the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Six Big Losses and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). Research results for January 2021 – December 2022, namely the A1 Machine is 82%, the A2 Machine is 76% and the A3 Machine is 58%. The loss factor of the three machines is caused by Equipment Failure Loss (equipment damage loss). The results of the analysis using the FMEA method show that the failures that often occur in the three machines include the engine having an over stroke, the work method is due to the visual check method, and the engine has been repaired by an AIDA technician. So, it is suggested that in order to increase the effectiveness of the Small Press Line A machine, the Stamping & Tools Division should apply FMEA method to look for components or processes that have failed, whether humans, machines, work methods, or materials.

Abstract

Abstract

This study presents the analysis of thermodynamic behavior and energy efficiency of a vapor compression refrigeration system with two types of condensers: air-cooled (ACC) and water-cooled (WCC). The main objective is to assess the system performance by comparing the Coefficient of Performance (COP) and Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) under both condenser configurations. During a 12-hour test period, data on refrigerant pressure, temperature, and electrical energy consumption were collected and analyzed. The results show that the WCC system outperforms the ACC system, showing a 5.7% increase in heat rejection and a 4.2% increase in cooling capacity. In addition, the WCC system exhibits a lower compressor duty cycle and consumes less electrical energy, resulting in a higher total EER of 5.658 compared to ACC of 1.945. These findings suggest that integrating a water-cooled condenser into a refrigeration system can significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs, making it a viable option for commercial applications in tropical regions.
