Abstract

Hypertension causes high morbidity (illness) and mortality (death). In general, there are two ways to control blood pressure so that it remains stable, namely pharmacotherapy and lifestyle changes. The successful management of hypertension depends on the patient's own motivation and self-awareness to carry out self-care management designed to control symptoms and avoid complications. The purpose of this study is the relationship between self-efficacy and motivation to prevent complications with the degree of hypertension in the elderly in the working area of the Mukomuko City Health Center in 2022. The design of this study used a descriptive corelational cross sectional method. Sampling used purposive sampling technique, the number of respondents was 54 elderly people with a diagnosis of hypertension. The independent variables in this study are self-efficacy and motivation and the dependent variable is blood pressure. Statistical tests in this study used the chi square test. The results obtained showed that there was a relationship between self-efficacy and motivation to prevent complications with the degree of hypertension in the elderly in the Working Area of the Mukomuko City Health Center with a p value of 0.000 <α = 0.05. This research is useful for the community, especially the elderly with hypertension in order to be able to add insight and information about self-efficacy and motivation to prevent complications in order to control blood pressure.

Abstract

Hypertension is an invisible killer that rarely causes symptoms. Increasing public awareness is key, as is access to early detection. Rising blood pressure is a serious warning sign that important lifestyle changes are urgently needed. One of the other factors that affect hypertension is a family history, biological parents have a history of hypertension then it will be a 45% chance of being passed on to their offspring, and if only one parent has hypertension then there is a 30% chance that it will be passed on to their offspring. Patient knowledge and awareness about hypertension is an important factor in achieving blood pressure control. Knowledge about hypertension is a bad lifestyle habit that contributes to the occurrence of hypertension, If a person's weight increases, then the blood volume will also increase so that the burden of the heart in pumping blood also increases. Progressive muscle relaxation techniques are deep muscle relaxation techniques that do not require imagination, perseverance, or suggestion, based on the belief that the human body responds to anxiety and thought-provoking events with muscle tension to have an effect on blood pressure.

Abstract

In Indonesia, breast cancer attacks more women than men (KPKN, 2015), and around 70% of breast cancer patients come to the hospital in an advanced stage (Despitasari, 2017). The prognosis of breast cancer is closely related to the stage at which the cancer is diagnosed. An earlier diagnosis will help reduce mortality from breast cancer, therefore several screening and early diagnostic programs have been developed to detect breast cancer in the early stages (Rukmi, 2017). Breast self-examination (SADARI), clinical breast examination (CBE), and mammography are used as references for breast cancer screening (KPKN, 2015). One of the efforts that can be made in the context of early detection of breast cancer is breast self-examination (SADARI), which is an examination carried out by a person to detect breast conditions.

Abstract

Data from UNICEF (2020), explains that every year the death rate among children reaches 91,000 with the main cause being preventable infections. One of these infectious diseases is diarrhea or in the medical world it is called gastroenteritis. The aim of the research is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in giving MPASI to babies 6-12 months at the Sawah Lebar Community Health Center in 2024. The method used in this research uses analytical research with a cross sectional design. The population of this study included 375 babies in the working area of the Sawah Lebar Community Health Center. The sampling technique used the Accidental Sampling technique based on inclusion criteria. The sample used was 79 people. The bivariate test results show that the variable maternal knowledge with the incidence of diarrhea obtained a chi-square p-value of 0.001, the history of exclusive breastfeeding with the incidence of diarrhea obtained a chi-square p-value of 0.001, the method of giving MPASI and the incidence of diarrhea obtained a chi-square p-value. value is 0.001, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge, history of exclusive breastfeeding and how to give MPASI with the incidence of diarrhea in giving MPASI to babies 6-12 months at the Sawah Lebar Community Health Center in 2024. It is recommended that the community health center provide information about the importance of knowledge about diarrhea and providing breast milk. Exclusively, always wash your hands with soap so that your baby doesn't experience diarrhea.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, during which rapid growth occurs, including reproductive function, thereby influencing changes in physical, mental, and social development. Nearly all adolescent males and females begin their first romantic relationships between the ages of 15 and 17. As a result, 8% of adolescent males and 2% of adolescent females have engaged in premarital sexual intercourse. Additionally, 45.9% of adolescents are living with AIDS, and 51,986 adolescents (approximately 45% of total drug users) are recorded as using illicit drugs. This study aims to determine the relationship between adolescents' knowledge levels and their preventive behaviour regarding the TRIAD KRR among students at SMK N 03 in Bengkulu City. The method used is a quantitative research design employing a descriptive analytical research framework with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was selected using the Slovin formula, resulting in 92 respondents from grades X and XI, selected using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Data were analysed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test, with a P-value of 0.05. The results of the study indicate that the level of knowledge among adolescents is mostly in the adequate category (58.7%), while most preventive behaviours related to the TRIAD KRR among adolescents are in the inadequate category (60.6%). There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge among adolescents and preventive behaviours related to the TRIAD KRR, with a P-value of 0.011. The results of this study are expected to serve as an additional source of information, as well as Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) regarding the level of knowledge among adolescents and their preventive behaviour towards TRIAD KRR (Three Basic Threats to Adolescent Reproductive Health) at SMK N 03 Kota Bengkulu in 2024.
