Abstract

The local potential of traditional preserved foods of the Malay community of Kayong Utara district can be developed into meaningful learning media. This study aims to analyse the validity and student response to the encyclopedia learning media developed. The research used the Research & Development method with the ADDIE development model. The research stages include Analysis, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluation. The results showed the validity of the developed media in the aspects of language, material, and media with consecutive scores of 88.66% (very feasible), 95.33% (very feasible), and 99.33% (very feasible). Student responses were positive on the results of small-scale and large-scale trials with scores of 87.26% and 88.55% respectively. It is concluded that the encyclopedia of traditional food preserved by the Malay tribe of Kayong Utara Regency is feasible to use and gets a positive response to be used as a biology learning resource.

Abstract

The Antar Ajong ceremony is a ritual before planting rice carried out by the Sambas Malay Tribe. Plant diversity in the Antar Ajong ceremony can be developed in the form of an encyclopedia to support learning at school. This study aims to measure the validity of the media and student responses to the encyclopedia developed. The research used Research and development (R&D) with a modified 4D development model that includes the define, design, and develop stages. Data collection used interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The data was analyzed using a Likert questionnaire. The validation test obtained a value from media experts of 96.88% (very valid), material experts of 91.66% (very valid), and linguists of 88.14% (very valid). Students gave very good responses to the small-scale (99.35%) and large-scale (98.25%) trials. So it can be concluded that the ethnobotanical encyclopedia media at the Antar Ajong ceremony of the Malay Tribe of Paloh District, Sambas Regency, is feasible to apply in learning and get a positive response. This encyclopedia medium can also be used as a medium for preserving the local wisdom of the Paloh Paloh District Malay community at the Antar Anjong ceremony.

Abstract

Pengalaman belajar yang konkrit dengan mengamati objek secara langsung dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan jenis tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang ada di lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang digunakan masyarakat Desa Pekawai dan potensinya sebagai sumber belajar biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 23 jenis tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang digunakan masyarakat Desa Pekawai yaitu Jeruk Nipis, Nangka , Kelapa, Pare, Seledri, Kemangi ,Insulin, Rambutan, Pepaya, Kumis Kucing, Sirih, Cucur Bebek, Terong pipit, Alang-Alang, Jahe, Kencur, Kunyit, Temulawak, Srikaya, Sirsak, Jambu Biji, Pinang, Belimbing Wuluh. Potensi tumbuhan berkhasiat obat berdasarkan mata pelajaran kelas X, yaitu ruang lingkup Biologi, Keanekaragaman Hayati, dan Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup dan Tumbuhan. Tumbuhan obat sangat cocok sebagai sumber pembelajaran biologi SMA. Potensi tumbuhan berkhasiat obat sebagai sumber belajar biologi sangat layak berdasarkan indikator kejelasan potensi (85%), kejelasan sasaran (84%), kesesuaian tujuan (88%), kejelasan informasi (82%), kejelasan eksplorasi (84%), dan kejelasan hasil (82%).

Abstract

The project-based learning model focuses on directing students to be more active in learning. The learning model will be effective if combined with e-module media. Because e-modules provide facilities for students to learn independently. One of the materials in class XII Biology that is applied in e-modules is biotechnology related to local potential, namely Sawi Asin fermentation. The study aims to develop project-based learning e-modules based on research results on the nutritional content of Sawi Asin fermentation. The research method uses Research and Development which adapts the Alessi and Trolip development model. There are three stages carried out, namely, planning (planning), designing (design), and developing (development). The results of e-module validation by media experts showed an average score of 94.22% (very feasible), material experts 80.83% (feasible), and language experts 87.333% (very feasible). The results of the small group test with 12 students of class XII IPA showed an average value of 81.09% (very positive) and the large group test with 32 students of class XII was IPA 87.04% (very positive). It can be concluded that the project-based learning e-module based on the results of research on the nutritional content of Sawi Asin fermentation developed is very feasible to use and gets a very positive response from students.Keywords: E-module, Development, Project Based Learning

Abstract

Desa Kinjil Pesisir terletak di pesisir pantai yang memiliki 3 tipe habitat yang disukai Anura yaitu pemukiman, perkebunan, dan persawahan. Desa Kinjil Pesisir berdekatan dengan lingkungan sekolah sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji potensi anura yang ada di Desa Kinjil Pesisir kabupaten Ketapang, provinsi Kalimantan Barat, untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar biologi. Penenelitian dilakukan melalui 2 tahapan yaitu tahap I dilakukan inventarisasi dan identifikasi jenis anura Desa Kinjil Pesisir melalui melalui metode VES (Visual Ecounter Survey), dan tahap II melalui analisis angket potensi anura sebagai sumber belajar yang diisi oleh guru Biologi SMAN 2 Ketapang, SMAN 3 Ketapang, SMAN 4 Ketapang, SMA Muhammadiyah Ketapang, dan SMA Ma’arif Ketapang. Analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian tahap I menemukan 12 individu anura dari 3 spesies yang ditemukan di 3 tipe habitat berbeda di Desa Kinjil Pesisir. Hasil penelitian tahap II menunjukan bahwa anura di desa Kinjil Pesisir berpotensi sebagai sumber belajar dan sesuai dengan submateri pokok kelas X, yaitu keanekaragaman hayati, klasifikasi mahluk hidup, ekologi,dan ruang lingkup biologi.

Abstract

This research aims to develop valid and practical Liveworksheet-based interactive LKPD on the local biodiversity “Kratom” to support the P5 Project. This research method used research and development (R&D) with the 4D model consisting of 4 stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The developmental research was conducted at SMAN 3 Pontianak, with teachers and students in class X as the research subjects. The research instrument used an interview and a questionnaire with a Likert scale validity data analysis and a Guttman scale for practicality data analysis, which analyzed descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the interactive E-LKPD developed a very valid category based on the validator's assessment of the material experts, with an average of 94.2%, media experts 96.3%, and linguistics 91.9%. Based on various factors such as appearance, presentation of materials, usefulness, and response to project-based learning activities. The results of the practicality of the student questionnaire response were 90% in the small-scale trial and 88.4% in the large-scale trial. So, the developed Liveworksheet-based interactive LKPD is categorized as very practical. Based on these findings, the development is categorized as very valid, very practical, and can be utilized in learning biology on biodiversity material to support P5 project.

Abstract

Kebijakan pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati memerlukan informasi dasar yang menggambarkan kondisi keanekaragaman fauna dan habitatnya. Artikel ini melaporkan hasil inventarisasi dan identifikasi keanekaragaman reptil di ekosistem bakau di Kabupaten Mempawah, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif eksploratif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Visual Encounter Survey dengan kombinasi Time Search. Tingkat keanekaragaman dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan Indeks Keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener, Indeks Dominansi, dan Kelimpahan Relatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat empat spesies reptil dari ordo Squamata yang dijumpai, yaitu Cerberus schneiderii (ular bakau) dari famili Homalopsidae, Emoia atrocostata (kadal bakau) dan Eutropis multifasciata (kadal kebun) dari famili Scincidae, serta Hemidactylus frenatus (cicak) dari famili Gekkonidae. Indeks keanekaragaman spesies sebesar 1,27 pada kategori sedang dan indeks dominansi sebesar 0,31 pada kategori rendah. Emoia atrocostata merupakan jenis reptil yang paling banyak ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, dengan kelimpahan relatif sebesar 43,75% dari total populasi yang ditemukan.

Abstract

Sintang, located in West Kalimantan, is known for its diverse ethnic groups and traditional dishes that are influenced by ethnomicrobiology. This research aims to evaluate the practicality and student reactions to an e-catalog focused on the ethnomicrobiology of Malay and Dayak cuisine from Sintang. The study employs a development approach (R&D) using the 4-D model, which includes four phases: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data analysis involves assessing the validity and student feedback on the e-catalog. During the define phase, 7 traditional cuisine—pekasam babi, pekasam ikan, rusip, tapai ubi, tempoyak, and tuak ketan—were identified. These dishes were organized into an electronic catalog format in the design phase. The e-catalog was then tested for effectiveness in the development phase, receiving high validity ratings in material (91%), media (96%), and language (89%) aspects. Student responses were very positive, with large-scale test results at 83.80% and small-scale test results at 86.08%. The development of this instructional material was guided by the principles of contextual and culturally responsive education. The findings indicate that the ethnomicrobiology-based e-catalog is a viable and effective learning resource for biotechnology topics. By embedding elements of local wisdom, particularly those relevant to the Sintang region, the e-catalog promotes meaningful learning experiences that are closely aligned with students’ real-life contexts and cultural backgrounds.

Abstract

The government's efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 have forced teachers to carry out remote learning via online. Online learning requires an attractive learning design by utilizing learning resources easily accessible to students while studying at home. Community service programs are prioritized to address high school biology learning problems in West Kalimantan during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those related to environment-based biology learning. Community service activities were carried out on 10 - 11 June 2020. The target communities for this activity are biology teachers in West Kalimantan. The community service program is focused on environmental-based biology learning educational activities during the pandemic, which are held online through webinars with a zoom application. The activity results showed that the participants' response and enthusiasm in participating in the activity were outstanding. Participants not only asked questions but also shared experiences and information about biology learning activities during a pandemic. Through this service program, teachers are expected to be motivated to design and implement environment-based learning for innovative biology learning

Abstract

Berdasarkan  hasil  wawancara  terhadap  guru  biologi  di  kelas  X  MAN  2  Pontianak  pada  tahun  ajaran 2014/2015, diketahui adanya permasalahan kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi invertebrata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesulitan belajar siswa dalam memahami materi invertebrata.Metode yang  digunakan  adalah  metode  deskriptif.Subjek  penelitian  adalah  siswa  kelas  XI  IPA  1  berjumlah  3 3 siswa.Subjek penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling.Kesulitan belajar dianalisis dengan teknik pengukuran, wawancara dan komunikasi tidak langsung.Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda, pedoman wawancara dan angket tertutup bentuk check list berskala Likert. Hasil analisis data tes menunjukkan persentase kesulitan belajar siswa sebesar 39,92%. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan jenis kesulitan belajar siswa antara lain kesulitan dalam memahami penamaan ilmiah (59,74%), kesulitan dalam memahami konsep (40,15%) dan kesulitan dalam memahami istilah (26,66%). Hasil angket menunjukkan faktor internal yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa meliputi aspek minat (67,14%), motivasi (63,36%), kesehatan (70,08%) dan intelegensi (53,23%). Faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa meliputi aspek keluarga (72,07%) dan sekolah (67,24%), serta guru (54,74%). Namun, faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa yang berpengaruh cukup adalah faktor internal dari aspek intelegensi dengan indikator pemahaman dan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi invertebrata, serta faktor eksternal dari aspek guru dengan indikator penggunaan metode dan media pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: Kesulitan belajar, materi invertebrata
