Abstract

The government's policy to eliminate face-to-face learning requires that learning be done online or e-learning. This study aims to analyze the motivation to learn science in e-learning class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. This research is descriptive qualitative, the primary data source in this study is the result of a questionnaire on learning motivation by e-learning, the secondary data source is the result of interviews with science teachers. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews of students' learning motivation in e-learning learning shows the percentage of student motivation per category, namely the strong ability of 71.83%, moderate ability of 25.35% and very strong ability of 2.82%. The indicators that have the highest percentage value are the first activities that are interesting in learning, namely 66.44%, the second hopes and aspirations for the future are 66.42%, the third desire and desire to succeed are 64.37%, the four encouragements and needs in learning is 64.22%, and the five conducive environment is 63.7%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the motivation to learn science in e-learning learning for class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak has a strong motivation category.

Abstract

Studens at Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat, have difficulty in understanding the material of evolution, this is an indication that students are getting misconception, so to solve the problem we need to do an analysis. One of the instruments that can be used to identify misconception is a Three Tier Test. These research aim, to analyze student misconception on evolution material using Three Tier Test at SMA and MA in Kabupaten Kubu Raya. The method that used is descriptive method with qualitative approach. The subjects of the research were students of grade 12 IPA SMAN 1 Sungai Kakap, SMAN 3 Sungai Kakap, MAN 1 Kubu Raya, and MA Al Mustaqim, 2016/2017 in academic year, which consists 144 students. Data collecting techniques that we used was three tier tests. Results show that in SMA the average percentage of students who misconception is 32,09%, in MA the average percentage of students who misconception is 40,46%. The highest percentage of misconception is in evolutionary mechanism concept, 44.86% at SMA students and 52,96% at MA student. Misconception on Darwin's theory of evolutionary concept is 32.35% at SMA students and 26,32% at MA student. On the concept of evidence for evolution is 19.06% at SMA student and 42,11% at MA student

Abstract

The government's efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 have forced teachers to carry out remote learning via online. Online learning requires an attractive learning design by utilizing learning resources easily accessible to students while studying at home. Community service programs are prioritized to address high school biology learning problems in West Kalimantan during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those related to environment-based biology learning. Community service activities were carried out on 10 - 11 June 2020. The target communities for this activity are biology teachers in West Kalimantan. The community service program is focused on environmental-based biology learning educational activities during the pandemic, which are held online through webinars with a zoom application. The activity results showed that the participants' response and enthusiasm in participating in the activity were outstanding. Participants not only asked questions but also shared experiences and information about biology learning activities during a pandemic. Through this service program, teachers are expected to be motivated to design and implement environment-based learning for innovative biology learning

Abstract

Most students consider the excretory system material to be difficult to understand so that students often only memorize it in their learning. Teachers generally use the Teacher Centered Learning (TCL) model in online learning. This study aims to determine the effect of online learning during the pandemic using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on student learning outcomes. The research was conducted in class XI SMA Islamiyah Pontianak. The research method uses Quasi Experiment. The study used class XI IPS 2 as the experimental class and class XI IPS 1 as the control class which was selected using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected by means of learning outcomes tests before and after learning. The research data were analyzed using N-Gain. The results showed that in the experimental class the N-Gain score was 0.46 (medium category), while in the control class the N-Gain score was 0.19 (low category). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was an effect of the PBL learning model on the learning outcomes of the XI grade students of SMA Islamiyah Pontianak.

Abstract

One of the most distributed primate species in Gunung Palung National Park is the long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascicularis). This study aims to determine habitat characteristics, daily activities, use of habitat as a source of food by long-tailed monkeys, and potential use of habitat by long-tailed monkeys in Gunung Palung National Park as a source of learning biology. The study was conducted using the observation method with focal animal sampling data collection techniques in two transects. The results show that the habitat characteristics have a position that is not far from the watershed (watershed) and belongs to the alluvial forest area. The vegetation condition is dominated by trees from the Angiospermae sub-division which is divided into 12 families. The result of the frequency of resting activity is the highest daily activity among the 4 types of activity observed, which is 48 times. While the plant species that became the highest source of diet trees was Blumeodendron tokbrai, with a percentage of 55.56%. Judging from the results of 7 respondents who came from high school teachers in North Kayong Regency, Gunung Palung National Park was suitable as a learning resource. The requirements of learning resources, namely clarity of potential, conformity with learning objectives, the accuracy of targets, clarity of exploration guidelines, and clarity of expected gains, the results of the study on Habitat Utilization by Long-Tailed Monkeys in Gunung Palung National Park in achieving basic competencies in the spatial material scope of biology, various levels of biodiversity, plants, and materials ecology can be used as a learning resource for high school biology class X

Abstract

Kegiatan pengayaan dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk memperdalam penguasaan materi bioteknologi yang berkaitan. Video pembuatan keju menggunakan daun saksang sebagai koagulan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengayaan pada materi bioteknologi siswa kelas XII MIA SMA Taman Mulia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kelayakan dan kepraktisan media video pemanfaatan saksang sebagai koagulan keju menggunakan aplikasi sparkol videoscribe untuk pengayaan materi bioteknologi. Metode penelitian menggunakan RD (Research and Development) dengan model 4-D yang dimodifikasi menjadi 3 tahapan yaitu: Define (Perencanaan), Design (Perancangan), dan Develop (Pengembangan). Pengumpulan data kelayakan menggunakan lembar validasi yang diisi oleh 9 validator ahli. Kepraktisan diukur menggunakan angket respon yang diisi oleh 6 siswa pada uji coba skala kecil dan 18 siswa pada uji coba skala besar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan media video yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat kelayakan yang sangat valid pada aspek materi (83,11%), pada aspek media (93,77%),sedangkan pada aspek bahasa terkategori valid (75,33%). Hasil uji coba skala kecil dan uji coba skala besar terkategori sangat praktis dengan presentase 89,23% dan 90,97%. Dapat disimpulkan media yang dikembangan layak dan sangat praktis dari siswa.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media memperjelas penyajian pesan dan informasi sehingga memperlancar serta meningatkan proses dan hasil belajar siswa. Media pembelajaran yang umumnya digunakan guru di MTs Negeri 2 Mempawah adalah media power point, sedangkan media animasi merupakan media yang memiliki kelebihan yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan media animasi dan media power point. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Bentuk penelitian menggunakan Quasi Eksperimental dengan rancangan None Equivalent Control Group Design. Penentuan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan soal pretest-posttest, yang dianalisis dengan uji t dan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa yang diajar menggunakan media animasi memperoleh nilai sebesar 34,23 sedangkan siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan media PPT memperoleh nilai sebesar 12,81. Selisih nilai gain kedua kelas tersebut sebesar 21,42. Hasil uji independent samples test yang didapatkan taraf signifikan 0,000<0,05. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah media animasi terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia dikelas VIII MTs Negeri 2 Mempawah. Rata-rata nilai postest kelas eksperimen (83,19) lebih besar dibanding rata-rata nilai postest kelas kontrol (60,73). Berdasarkan hasil uji-t, diketahui terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan media video animasi dan media ppt. Nilai effect size (ES) yang diperoleh sebesar 2,48 dengan interpretasi cohen’s kategori besar.

Abstract

Gunung Palung National Park (GPNP) has butterfly diversity. However, there is a lack of information about butterflies in Gunung Palung National Park as a learning resource. This article reports on the species of butterflies in three different ecosystems from GPNP and the potential of insectariums as a source of learning biology. There are two stages of research, first to examine the species of butterflies from GPNP in the Freshwater Swamp Forest, Alluvial Forest, and Lowland Granite Forest ecosystems. Second, to examine the potential of butterflies insectariums as a learning resource. The location of the research was determined by purposive sampling. Butterflies are caught by sweeping technique. Collecting data on potential learning resources using observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The results found 119 individuals from 39 butterfies species. Based on the aspects of access, safety, time, cost, clarity of potential, suitability of learning objectives, clarity of material objectives, and clarity of information, it shows that the potential of the butterfly insectarium is worthy of being used as a learning resource, especially in biology subjects, namely Biodiversity, Classification of Living Things, Animalia, and Ecology

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat karbohidrat optimal dalam pakan untuk mendukung kinerja pertumbuhanikan tengadak (Barbonymus achwanefeldii). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu; 10%; 20%; 30%; dan 40%, dengan 3 ulangan. Pakan percobaan yang mengandung protein sama (isoprotein) dan energi yang juga sama (isokalori) diberikan pada ikan tengadak berukuran rata-rata3,66±0,49 g yang dipelihara di akuarium selama 60 hari. Ikan tengadak diberi pakan percobaan sesuai perlakuan secara adsatiasi dengan frekwensi 3 kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan dengan tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan protein dan lemak tubuh, retensi protein dan lemak tubuh, laju pertumbuhn harian, jumlah konsumsi pakan harian dan efisiensi pakan. Perlakuan terbaik adalah ikan tengadak yang diberi pakan dengan kadar karbohidrat 20%, dengan nilai  kandungan protein tubuh  50,94±0,45 %; lemak tubuh 23,49±0,13 %; retensi protein 22,13±0,04 %; retensi lemak 30,93±0,01 %; laju pertumbuhan harian 3,52 %; jumlah konsumsi pakan harian 0,53±0,02 g dan efisiensi pakan 55.68±1.35 %. Tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan ikan tengadak yang optimal adalah 22,89 %. Kata Kunci: karbohidrat, kinerja pertumbuhan, kan tengadak dan Barbonymus schwanenfeldii

Abstract

West Kalimantan is one of the provinces with a variety of traditional foods. One of them is pakatikng rape, a traditional Dayak fermented food made from kelampai fruit. The fermentation process involves lactic acid bacteria which act as food preservatives because they have inhibitory substances known as bacteriocins. Exploration of lactic acid bacteria in the local food fermentation process, especially in West Kalimantan, has not been widely carried out. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to obtain LAB from kelampai fruit fermentation. The research methods included fermentation of kelampai fruit, isolation of LAB, screening for acid-producing LAB, characterization of colony morphology, gram staining, endospore staining, motility test, catalase test, and antibiotic sensitivity test. The results of the study obtained nine isolates that are capable of producing acid and have general characteristics of lactic acid bacteria, namely round cell shape, gram-positive, non-endospores, non-motile and catalase negative and four isolates that are resistant to antibiotics, namely KL-10 resistant to erythromycin, KL-15 and KL-19 resistant to Ofloxacin, and KL-20 resistant to amoxicillin.
