One media that expected to be used by students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak in learning Biology is digital comics. The purpose of this study is to produce digital comic learning media based on the local potential of West Kalimantan which is valid and to get a positive response from students. This research was carried out in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year using Research and Development with a modified 4D model, namely, Define, Design and Develop without Dissemination. The data collection technique was a validation questionnaire filled in by 9 validators on aspects of media, material and language. Student responses were measured using a questionnaire on small-scale trials and large-scale trials. The results showed that the developed digital comic media obtained very valid scores on the media aspect (92.38%) and language aspects (82.42%), while on the material aspect it obtained a valid value (79.58%). Students gave very positive responses in small-scale trials (96%) and large-scale trials (99%). It was concluded that the media developed are valid and acknowledged very positive responses from students.

Abstract

The people of North Kayong Regency-West Kalimantan still uphold the culture of utilizing plants as food, known as North Kayong local vegetables. Preserving knowledge about existing local potential and its utilization can be done through education based on local wisdom or local potential. It can be employed as a tool to enhance the efficacy and significance of education while preserving the unique possibilities of every area. The K13 curriculum is a curriculum of change from conceptual learning to contextual learning. The education process according to regional potential can be done through encyclopaedia media that attracts readers because the encyclopedia contains explicit information and is accompanied by pictures with bright colours. analysis and development, the creation of a local vegetable-based encyclopedia of North Kayong Regency as a biology learning media using a development model (D&D) consisting of six stages, namely: problem identification, description of objectives, design and development, product trials, evaluation of trial results, and communication of trial outcomes. The outcomes of validation and students response trials to the encyclopedia media developed obtained perfect scores. Where the validation test received a value from media experts of 97.08% (very valid), material experts of 90.22% (very valid), and language experts of 88.14% (very valid). Abstract

This research aims to develop valid and practical Liveworksheet-based interactive LKPD on the local biodiversity “Kratom” to support the P5 Project. This research method used research and development (R&D) with the 4D model consisting of 4 stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The developmental research was conducted at SMAN 3 Pontianak, with teachers and students in class X as the research subjects. The research instrument used an interview and a questionnaire with a Likert scale validity data analysis and a Guttman scale for practicality data analysis, which analyzed descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the interactive E-LKPD developed a very valid category based on the validator's assessment of the material experts, with an average of 94.2%, media experts 96.3%, and linguistics 91.9%. Based on various factors such as appearance, presentation of materials, usefulness, and response to project-based learning activities. The results of the practicality of the student questionnaire response were 90% in the small-scale trial and 88.4% in the large-scale trial. So, the developed Liveworksheet-based interactive LKPD is categorized as very practical. Based on these findings, the development is categorized as very valid, very practical, and can be utilized in learning biology on biodiversity material to support P5 project.

Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills are 21st-century competencies that must be mastered by students. Higher-order thinking skills can be seen in student learning outcomes. Students' higher-order thinking skills can be improved by choosing the right learning media, one of which is by using animated video media. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of animated videos to improve the high-order thinking skills of SMA Negeri 1 Silat Hulu students. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The form of study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were all students of class XI IPA. The instrument used is a question of pretest-posttest. Data analysis used a t-test and N-Gain Score. The conclusions of this study are: (1) there is a significant difference between the students' higher-order thinking skills in the experimental group and the control group. This is evidenced by the independent sample t-test which obtained a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. (2) animation video media is effective in improving students' higher-order thinking skills as seen from the results of the calculation of the N-gain score of 0.61 with a moderate interpretation.

Abstract

A word wall is a fun, entertaining learning media game. This study aims to determine the effect of word wall media on student interest and learning outcomes. The research used the experimental method, Quasi Experimental form with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Determination of the experimental and control classes using a simple random sampling method, treatment in the experimental class using word wall media, and media box questions in the control class. The data collection instrument for pretest-posttest learning outcomes is in the form of multiple-choice questions. Meanwhile, interest in learning was measured using a questionnaire with the Linkert scale. Analysis of learning interest data using the t-test obtained the value of student interest in learning (0.000 <0.05). The value of student learning outcomes based on the U-Mann Whitney test obtained a value of (0.000 <0.05), and the effect size of the results showed that the media word wall affects an interest in learning by 58.9% with an effect size value of 1.1 (large). The highest learning interest indicator is feeling happy, with a percentage of 71% in the experimental class. The effect of word wall media on learning outcomes is 79.4%, and the effect size value is 1.9 (large). The completeness value of the posttest in the experimental class was 89%, while in the control class, the percentage of completeness was 45%. It is concluded from this research that there are differences and the influence of word wall media on students' interests and learning outcomes.
