Abstract

Background: HIV/AIDS is a terminal disease that remains the leading cause of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. This disease has a wide impact, not only for sufferers but also for their social environment. Caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) often experience psychological distress, especially when they are not prepared to care for sick family members. Their ability to fulfill the five family duties in health is greatly influenced by their psychological well being. Objectives: This study aims to describe the psychological well-being of caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Sumedang regency.Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study amounted to 196 respondents selected by simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale, which has a validity range of 0.279 to 0.660 and a reliability score (Cronbach's Alpha) of 0.885.Results: The results of the study showed that most caregivers (52.1%) were in the moderate psychological well-being category, while 47.9% were in the high category. Among the six dimensions of psychological well-being that were studied in this study,  only purpose in life and personal growth were predominantly in the high category (50-60%). The demographic analysis revealed that most respondents were aged 20–55 years (M = 36.3, SD = 10.9), the majority were female (56.1%), and most worked as housewives (44.8%). The duration of caregiving was predominantly 1–5 years (61.7%; M = 2.7, SD = 2.5).Conclusions: It can be concluded that most caregivers of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) exhibit moderate levels of psychological well-being. This indicates that caregivers can generally accept their strengths and weaknesses, build positive relationships, adapt to their environment, set clear life goals, demonstrate independence, and engage in personal growth. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance family counseling programs within supportive care and treatment services, as well as strengthen family psychoeducation initiatives in nursing and healthcare institutions

Abstract

Mental health has become an important aspect in the strategic efforts to develop public health in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. The physical, socio-economic, cultural, and societal structural conditions contribute to the emergence of various psychological issues within the community. The main mental health problems may stem from a lack of public understanding about mental health issues, the presence of negative stigma surrounding mental disorders, and the unequal distribution of mental health services. This indicates the need for community knowledge-based programs to enhance public participation in mental health initiatives. Therefore, this activity aimed to improve the knowledge of the residents of Cijambe Village to foster a better understanding of mental health, as well as the prevention and management of mental health problems. The community service activity was conducted in the form of health education using a lecture method supported by PowerPoint media. The health education activity was attended by 37 residents of Cijambe Village, Paseh Sub-district, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The results of the knowledge level assessment showed an increase in participants’ average knowledge scores before and after the health education, from the "less" category (43%) to the "sufficient" category (57%), based on Arikunto’s knowledge level measurement scale. This health education activity achieved an outcome in the form of increased community knowledge regarding mental health as a result of the education provided. Thus, increasing public knowledge through mental health education can strengthen community participation in the prevention and handling of mental health issues at the community level.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The risk of violent behavior is a potential condition that indicates an individual's vulnerability to committing aggressive acts that can threaten the physical safety or psychological well-being of others. The task of a nurse in handling cases of risk of violent behavior includes all stages of nursing care. In addition, interventions to control the risk of violent behavior are religious or spiritual therapy in the form of murotal Al-Qur'an. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the implementation of generalist therapeutic nursing care according to nursing care standards equipped with murotal therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman to reduce signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior in clients with mental disorders at the West Java Provincial Hospital. This type of research is descriptive with a case report design that describes the implementation of generalist therapeutic nursing care according to nursing care standards and murotal therapy of Al-Qur'an Surah Ar-Rahman. The participants used were one client with a problem of risk of violent behavior. The results of the study after the implementation of murotal therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman for 15 minutes within 5 days showed a decrease in signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior from 6 signs to 1 sign. The risk score of violent behavior becomes 2 with an interpretation of no risk, previously the risk score of violent behavior was 7 with an interpretation of moderate risk. There is a change in the risk of violent behavior before and after murotal therapy is carried out on clients with problems of risk of violent behavior. Providing murottal therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman can be recommended and has been proven effective for clients with problems at risk of violent behavior. Keywords: Risk of Violent Behavior, Al-Quran Recitation Therapy, Surah Ar-Rahman.  ABSTRAK Risiko perilaku kekerasan adalah suatu kondisi potensial yang menunjukkan adanya kerentanan pada individu untuk melakukan tindakan agresif yang dapat mengancam keselamatan fisik maupun kesejahteraan psikologis orang lain. Tugas seorang perawat dalam menangani kasus risiko perilaku kekerasan mencakup seluruh tahapan asuhan keperawatan. Selain itu, intervensi untuk mengendalikan risiko perilaku kekerasan adalah terapi religius atau spiritual berupa murotal Al-Qur’an. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran penerapan asuhan keperawatan terapi generalis sesuai standar asuhan keperawatan yang dilengkapi dengan terapi murotal Surah Ar-Rahman untuk menurunkan tanda gejala risiko perilaku kekerasan pada klien gangguan jiwa di Rumah Sakit Provinsi Jawa Barat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan desain case report yang menguraikan penerapan asuhan keperawatan terapi generalis sesuai standar asuhan keperawatan dan terapi murotal Al-Qur’an Surah Ar-Rahman. Partisipan yang digunakan yaitu satu orang klien dengan masalah risiko perilaku kekerasan. Hasil penelitian setelah dilakukan penerapan terapi murotal Surah Ar-Rahman selama 15 menit dalam waktu 5 hari terjadi perubahan penurunan tanda dan gejala risiko perilaku kekerasan 6 tanda gejala menjadi 1 tanda gejala. Skor risiko perilaku kekerasan menjadi 2 dengan interpretasi tidak berisiko, sebelumnya skor risiko perilaku kekerasan adalah 7 dengan interpretasi risiko sedang. Terdapat perubahan risiko perilaku kekerasan sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan terapi murotal pada klien dengan masalah risiko perilaku kekerasan. Pemberian terapi murotal surah Ar-Rahman bisa direkomendasikan dan terbukti efektif dilakukan pada klien dengan masalah risiko perilaku kekerasan. Kata Kunci: Risiko Perilaku Kekerasan, Terapi Murotal Al-Qur’an, Surah Ar-Rahman.

Abstract

Bullying among elementary school students is a serious problem that significantly impacts various aspects of children’s lives, including mental health, emotional development, and academic achievement. This community service program, in the form of Health Education with the theme “Say No to Bullying: Together We Can!” and the development of the UKS Jiwa program as an extension of the existing UKS, aims to increase students’ knowledge and awareness about bullying and its prevention through a health education approach using a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The activity was conducted on November 29, 2024, at SDN Citepok, Paseh District, Sumedang Regency, involving 61 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 as the main participants, with teachers supporting the program’s sustainability. The educational materials were developed based on scientific sources and official handbooks from the Ministry of Education and Culture, covering the definition, types, impacts, and prevention strategies of bullying, and were delivered through lectures, animated videos, interactive discussions, simulations, and case analyses. The effectiveness of the intervention was measured using valid and reliable pre-test and post-test instruments. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge after the intervention, with all participants achieving a good level of knowledge in the post-test. This intervention not only improved students’ understanding of bullying but also fostered supportive attitudes and behaviors to create a safe and inclusive school environment. This health education program is recommended to be continuously integrated into the UKS program and the elementary school curriculum as an early effort to prevent bullying.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 berdampak terhadap kesehatan jiwa masyarakat seperti mengalami perubahan reaksi emosional berupa ketakutan akan penularan, perasaan stigmatisasi, kesepian, kebosanan, kemarahan, kegelisahan, kecemasan dan rasa ketidakpastian. Semakin seseorang merasa cemas yang berlebihan maka kekebalan tubuh  menurun dan bila tidak segera diatasi akan berdampak terjadinya masalah kesehatan jiwa yang lebih berat sehingga diperlukan upaya promosi, pencegahan, pengobatan dan rehabilitasi secara menyeluruh untuk mempertahankan kesehatan jiwa melalui pelayanan kesehatan jiwa masyarakat oleh perawat puskesmas sebagai pemberi pelayanan primer. Kualitas pengetahuan dan keterampilan perawat dalam menjalankan peran perawat pemegang program kesehatan jiwa dapat menentukan keberhasilan pelayanan kesehatan jiwa di masayrakat sehingga perlu dilakukan pelatihan tentang peran perawat dalam pelayanan keperawatan kesehatan jiwa yang berbasis masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada msyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan perawat puskesmas dalam memberikan pelayanan keperawatan kesehatan jiwa berbasis komunitas yang meliputi: kemampuan manajemen pelayanan keperawatan kesehatan jiwa komunitas dan pemberian asuhan keperawatan kesehatan jiwa komunitas pada masa pandemik Covid 19. Metodelogi yang digunakan yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan pendekatan model Community Mental Health Nursing (CMHN), dilakukan dengan cara daring selama 2 hari dan 1 hari pendampingan praktek lapangan dengan luring kepada 36 perawat pemegang program kesehatan jiwa Se-Kabupaten Sumedang serta dilakukan 3 kali monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam kegiatan ini terlaksananya kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan CMHN pada perawat puskesmas, adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dengan rata-rata skor 20 dan kemampuan perawat puskesmas dalam melakukan manajemen pelayanan kesehatan jiwa sebesar 25. Perawat dapat menerapkan program CMHN.
