Abstract

Hypertension can lead to a variety of consequences, including death. Alternative therapies, such as Dhikr and prayer therapy, have emerged as a response to the negative effects of medications used to treat hypertension. The therapy of Dhikr and prayer worked by inhibiting sympathetic nerve dominance and activating parasympathetic nerves, resulting in a soothing effect. The goal of this paper was to conduct a literature search to determine the effectiveness of Dhikr therapy and prayer in lowering blood pressure in hypertension patients. The method involved investigating evidence published in electronic data from Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. Using Publish or Perish, we searched for data from 2018 to 2023 using the terms "Dhikr therapy," "prayer therapy," and "hypertension." Using the Prisma Strategy flow chart, 11 relevant journals were eligible out of 352. The results showed that when a person recites Dhikr by focusing on words or sentences of prayer that are repeated with a regular rhythm, accompanied by an attitude of surrender to God, the individual will experience relaxation. This relaxed state could control the nervous system, which is responsible for regulating blood pressure in hypertensive patients leading to a decrease in blood pressure. Dhikr and prayer therapy are effective in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Recommendations suggest that Dhikr and prayer therapy can be applied as an alternative treatment for hypertension.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membentuk Usaha Kesehatan Jiwa Sekolah (UKJS), meningkatkan pengetahuan kader kesehatan jiwa remaja dan kemampuan dalam mendeteksi kesehatan jiwa teman sebayanya melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan sehingga dapat dilakukan intervensi segera terhadap masalah kesehatan jiwa yang muncul guna mewujudkan sekolah sehat jiwa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan melalui enam tahapan yaitu identifikasi masalah, pembentukan UKJS, rekrutmen kader kesehatan jiwa remaja, pelatihan & pendampingan, monitoring dan evaluasi serta rencana tindak lanjut. Kegiatan ini diikuti 65 siswa yang terpilih sebagai kader kesehatan jiwa remaja. Hasil pengukuran tingkat pengetahuan dan kemampuan kader kesehatan jiwa menunjukkan perubahan sebelum dan setelah dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pengetahuan kader kesehatan jiwa remaja meningkat dari 45,3% menjadi 79,4% dan kemampuan meningkat dari 81,1% menjadi 81,8%. Dengan demikian, terbentuknya UKJS melalui program sekolah sehat jiwa mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang kesehatan jiwa dan kemampuan kader kesehatan jiwa remaja dalam mendeteksi masalah kesehatan jiwa teman sebayanya. Abstract. This activity aims to form a School Mental Health Services SMHS, increase the knowledge of adolescent mental health cadres and their ability to detect the mental health of their peers through training and mentoring, so that immediate intervention can be carried out on mental health problems that arise in order to create a mentally healthy school. The method of implementing activities is through six stages, namely problem identification, formation of SMHS, recruitment of adolescent mental health cadres, training & direction, monitoring and evaluation, follow-up plans. This activity was attended by 65 students who were selected as mental health cadres. The results of measuring the level of knowledge and abilities of mental health cadres show changes before and after training and mentoring. Knowledge of mental health cadres increased from 45.3% to 79.4% and ability increased from 81.1% to 81.8%. Thus, establishment of SMHS through the mentally healthy school program shows an increase in the knowledge about mental health and ability of mental health cadres to detect mental health problems in their peers.

Abstract

Divorce is a life event that triggers psychological changes in the self-acceptance of someone who experiences it, especially women. These negative impacts can affect all aspects of life and can disrupt one's identity. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-acceptance and self-identity in women who have experienced divorce. This type of research is quantitative, with a cross-sectional approach using a correlational design. Sampling used a total sampling technique, totaling 55 respondents. Data were collected using the self-acceptance scale questionnaire and the self-identity questionnaire. The data analysis method used is Spearman's rho correlation statistical test using JASP software. The research results obtained a data value of r = 0.728 with a p-value = 0.001, because the significant value is 0.001 < 0.05, it shows a significant positive relationship between self-acceptance and self-identity. Therefore, the importance of providing psychological and social support shown to increase self-acceptance can have a positive impact on reshaping the self-identity of women who experience divorce.

Abstract

Adolescents with leukemia who undergo chemotherapy have psychological problems caused by the side effects of treatment. Side effects that arise in adolescents with cancer include anxiety, body image disturbances, depression, decreased socialization, and even fear of death. These psychological problems can affect resilience to maintain a resilient attitude in undergoing treatment. One of the protective factors in building resilience is family support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and family support. This type of research is quantitative with a correlational design. The sample used was leukemia adolescents aged 12-18 years who underwent chemotherapy using accidental sampling technique for 1 month, consisting of 37 respondents. The research instrument was the CYRM (child youth resilience measure) questionnaire which amounted to 17 questions and the family support questionnaire amounted to 12 questions. Data were analyzed with the spearman rank test. The results showed a high level of resilience and good family support. The level of strength between variables is low (0.396) with a positive direction, and significant (p value = 0.015). Conclusion: there is a strong, positive, and significant relationship between resilience and family support in leukemia adolescents who are undergoing chemotherapy.

Abstract

The adolescent stage in secondary education in Indonesia is a crucial stage in adolescent development, with curricula more complex than the elementary education stage. High academic challenges and developmental demands can lead to physical and emotional burnout in students. Academic burnout is caused by the length of school hours, too much activity, and too much work. Another factor causing academic burnout is a lack of social support. Social support plays an important role in creating a comfortable, motivated learning environment, providing support and assistance that can ultimately help reduce burnout. The study aims to find out the relationship between social support and academic burnout in high school students. The research method used is quantitative correlational research. Research samples of students of classes X and XI with a total of 258 students were taken using stratified random sampling. The instruments used include social support questionnaires that are structured based on House's aspects to measure the level of social support and a Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) questionnary to measures the burnout rate. Data analysis is done univariately and bivariately using a chi-square test. The results show that there is a significant link between social support and academic burnout in students, which shows that social support plays a role in reducing academic Burnout and improving academic performance.

Abstract

Mahasiswa akhir keperawatan mengalami berbagai tantangan dan hambatan selama proses penyusunan skripsi, yang dapat memengaruhi kemampuan empati yang merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam praktik keperawatan. Salah satu faktor yang diduga berhubungan dengan empati adalah literasi kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara literasi kesehatan mental dengan empati pada mahasiswa akhir S1 Keperawatan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Kampus Sumedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif semester 7 berjumlah 148 orang yang ditentukan dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) untuk mengukur literasi kesehatan mental dan Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) untuk mengukur empati. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang cukup kuat dengan arah positif antara literasi kesehatan mental dan empati (r = 0,513; p < 0,001). Disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi literasi kesehatan mental mahasiswa maka semakin tinggi pula empatinya. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peningkatan literasi kesehatan mental sebagai upaya memperkuat empati mahasiswa keperawatan dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan yang maksimal.

Abstract

Background: HIV/AIDS is a terminal disease that remains the leading cause of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. This disease has a wide impact, not only for sufferers but also for their social environment. Caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) often experience psychological distress, especially when they are not prepared to care for sick family members. Their ability to fulfill the five family duties in health is greatly influenced by their psychological well being. Objectives: This study aims to describe the psychological well-being of caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Sumedang regency.Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study amounted to 196 respondents selected by simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale, which has a validity range of 0.279 to 0.660 and a reliability score (Cronbach's Alpha) of 0.885.Results: The results of the study showed that most caregivers (52.1%) were in the moderate psychological well-being category, while 47.9% were in the high category. Among the six dimensions of psychological well-being that were studied in this study,  only purpose in life and personal growth were predominantly in the high category (50-60%). The demographic analysis revealed that most respondents were aged 20–55 years (M = 36.3, SD = 10.9), the majority were female (56.1%), and most worked as housewives (44.8%). The duration of caregiving was predominantly 1–5 years (61.7%; M = 2.7, SD = 2.5).Conclusions: It can be concluded that most caregivers of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) exhibit moderate levels of psychological well-being. This indicates that caregivers can generally accept their strengths and weaknesses, build positive relationships, adapt to their environment, set clear life goals, demonstrate independence, and engage in personal growth. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance family counseling programs within supportive care and treatment services, as well as strengthen family psychoeducation initiatives in nursing and healthcare institutions

Abstract

Teenagers are defined as the transition period from childhood to adulthood. In Indonesia, according to population projection data (2014), the number of teenagers reaches around 65 million or 25 percent over the 255 million population (Ministry of Health, 2015). In the 2014-2019 health development target, teenager reproductive problems are one of the biggest issues that must be a concern, one of which is the understanding of menarche or menstruation experienced. Data shows that a quarter of teens never talks about menstruation before experiencing menarche. Insufficient knowledge about menarche causes anxiety problems in adolescents, unpreparedness in dealing with menarche, and poor personal hygiene during menstruation which can have an impact on reproductive health. Based on this analysis, it is considered important to carry out community service to improve understanding and knowledge of menarche care at elementary school age. Audiovisual teaching media was used as a material and method. The sample size for community services was 50 participants, from 4 to 6-grade students. A self-administered questionnaire was used for pre and post-test data collection. The results showed differences between pre and post-test about knowledge of menarche care. Before applying the community service, there were 18% of girls were aware of menarche and menstrual hygiene. Meanwhile, the post-test result showed an improvement to 64%. Significant differences were observed among girls in terms of knowledge and perception related to menarche care. The promotion of health through education is expected to be able to increase the knowledge of young girls, so they can achieve both physical and psychological care and health.

Abstract

Dosen keperawatan dituntut agar dapat mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan pemikiran kritis mahasiswa dalam menyusun asuhan keperawatan. Beberapa studi mengungkapkan bahwa metode pemetaan konsep dapat memberikan pengaruh positif dalam proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh metode pemetaan konsep terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa keperawatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi-eksperimental. Penelitian ini melibatkan 43 mahasiswa tingkat dua di Sekolah Keperawatan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis diukur dengan Instrumen the Seventeen Dimensions of Critical Thinking and Written Examination dan lembar ujian tertulis. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, uji Wilcoxon, uji Repeated ANOVA, dan uji Friedman. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada rerata skor berpikir kritis dan ujian tertulis setelah intervensi (masing-masing p=0,00). Metode pemetaan konsep membantu mahasiswa mengembangkan pemikiran kritis dengan melihat hubungan antarkonsep, mengatur dan mengelompokkan informasi dengan cara yang bermakna, berpikir jernih dan rasional, serta membuat penilaian berbasis pengetahuan. Diharapkan dosen keperawatan dapat memfasilitasi mahasiswa untuk berlatih menggunakan pemetaan konsep dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: berpikir kritis; mahasiswa keperawatan; pemetaan konsep AbstractNursing educators must possess the ability to assess and enhance students' critical thinking skills in the formulation of nursing care plans. Numerous research indicate that the concept mapping technique might positively impact the learning process. This study seeks to determine the impact of the concept mapping method on the critical thinking abilities of nursing students. This research employed a quantitative design utilising a quasi-experimental methodology. This research encompassed 43 second-year students at the School of Nursing. Critical thinking skills were assessed with the Seventeen Dimensions of Critical Thinking and Written Examination Instrument, along with written exam sheets. The acquired data were analysed utilising the t-test, Wilcoxon test, Repeated ANOVA test, and Friedman test. The study's results indicated a significant difference in the mean scores of critical thinking and written examinations post-intervention (each p = 0.00). The concept mapping method enhances students' critical thinking by elucidating relationships between concepts, systematically organising and categorising material, fostering clear and rational thought, and facilitating knowledge-based decision-making. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Masa remaja merupakan fase krusial yang rentan terhadap tekanan sosial dan perilaku berisiko. Pada tahap ini, remaja menghadapi berbagai tantangan emosional dan sosial sehingga kemampuan mengelola emosi dan mengontrol diri menjadi penting untuk mencegah tindakan berisiko. Kecerdasan emosional membantu remaja mengatur emosi dan menghadapi tekanan, sementara kemampuan menolak (refusal skills) diperlukan untuk bersikap tegas terhadap ajakan negatif. Emosi memengaruhi pengambilan keputusan, sehingga pengaturan emosi yang baik berkontribusi pada keputusan yang lebih sehat. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan banyak remaja masih kesulitan mengelola emosi, yang berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan mereka dalam menolak ajakan negatif. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan refusal skills. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional serta pendekatan cross-sectional. Sebanyak 268 siswa dipilih secara menggunakan Stratified Random Sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Skala SSEIT untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional dan Skala STLA-MP untuk mengukur refusal skills. Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji korelasi Spearment’s Rank Correlation Coefficient karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Penelitian ini juga mematuhi prinsip etika seperti persetujuan sukarela dan kerahasiaan data. Hasil: Analisis uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan namun lemah antara kecerdasan emosional dan refusal skills (r=0,258, p<0,001). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan refusal skills pada remaja, meskipun kekuatan hubungannya tergolong lemah. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan kecerdasan emosional untuk memperkuat kemampuan remaja dalam menolak perilaku berisiko.
