Abstract

Quality of biofertilizer such as arbuscular myorrhizal fungi could be improved through the selection of appropriate sterilization and composition of the medium. The objective of the experiment was to determine the effect of sterilization and carrier composition on root colonisation, root length and weight of sorghum root. A green house experiment was conducted in randomized block design. The factors were: 1. methods of sterilization (ie. control; autoclave; NaOCl 10%; Co-60 gamma irradiation), and 2. composition of the carrier of mycorrhiza (100% zeolite; 75% zeolite + 25% rice charcoal;  50% zeolite + 50% rice charcoal). Results showed that there was no interaction effect of sterilization and composition of carrier on root colonisation, root length and weight of sorghum root. However, different technique of sterilisation gave differences on root colonisation, root length and weight of sorghum root. Sterilization using NaOCl 10% was not recommended. Gamma Co-60 irradiation sterilization did not have difference with control and autoclave, however there was  tendency  that irradiation technique gave better results to all parameters measured.

Abstract

One effort to increase the productivity of soybeans in Inceptisols Jatinangor is through utilize inoculant of soil microorganisms such as nitrogen-fixing bacteria and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria in the form of specific biofertilizer (SB) for soybean plant without leaving inorganic fertilizer as a source of available nutrients to plants. This research aimed to determine fertilization management of N-P-K and specific biofertilizer in retaining N and P availability and yield of soybean. The Research was conducted from April to July 2016, arranged in Simple Randomized Block Design (RBD) and consisted of 10 treatments. The combination of biofertilizer and N-P-K were as follows; A = control (without fertilizer), B = Standard N-P-K, C = 0 N-P-K + 1 SB , D = 1/4 N-P-K + 1 SB, E = 1/2 N-P-K + 1 SB, F = 3/4 N-P-K + 1 SB, G = 1 N-P-K + 1 SB, H = 3/4 + 1/4 SB, I = 3/4 N-P-K + 1/2 SB dan J = 3/4 N-P-K + 3/4 SB. The results showed a dose of N-P-K and biofertilizer was recommended in the treatment E (250 kg ha-1 SB) and 1/2 N-P-K (37.5-50-50 kg ha-1). The dose was able to increase nitrogen and phosphor content in soil and plant, also on yield of soybean up to 0.4 t ha-1 or 32% of a standard N-P-K.

Abstract

The study was aimed at determining the role of hydrogels and the incubation time on pH, organic C and N-total soil with indicators of sweet corn plants (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt) on Jatinangor inceptisols. The study was conducted from February 2018 to April 2018 at the Ciparanje Experimental Field, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with nine treatments and three replications, consisting of controls; mixed hydrogels and urea incubation and urea only incubation . The parameters observed were pH using the Potentiometric method, C-Organic using the Walkey and Black and N-Total using the Kjeldahl method. The data then were analyzed by variance. Significant testing was conducted to determine the effect of treatment using the Fisher Test at the level of 5%. The results show that there is an effect of hydrogels and the incubation time of hydrogels on pH, organic C and N-total soil. The control treatment shows the highest pH of 6.88. The urea treatment and incubation hydrogel of 20 days shows the highest organic C at 2.80% and the highest N-total is found in the treatment of urea and 40 day incubation hydrogel which is 0.34%.PERAN HIDROGEL DAN WAKTU INKUBASINYA TERHADAP pH, C-ORGANIK, DAN N-TOTAL TANAHPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran hidrogel dan waktu inkubasinya terhadap pH, C-organik dan N-total tanah dengan indikator tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt) pada inceptisols Jatinangor. Penelitian dilakukan mulai bulan Februari 2018 hingga April 2018 di Lahan Percobaan Ciparanje Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan sembilan perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan, yang terdiri atas kontrol; hidrogel dan urea inkubasi serta urea inkubasi. Parameter yang diamati adalah pH dengan menggunakan metode Potensiometri, C-Organik dengan menggunakan metode Walkey and Black dan N-Total dengan menggunakan metode Kjeldahl. Data hasil pengamatan pada penelitian akan dianalisis dengan sidik ragam. Pengujian signifikan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan digunakan Uji Fisher pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh hidrogel dan waktu inkubasi hidrogel terhadap pH, C-organik dan N-total tanah. Perlakuan kontrol menunjukkan pH tertinggi yaitu 6,88. Perlakuan urea dan hidrogel inkubasi 20 hari menunjukkan C-organik tertinggi yaitu 2,80% dan N-total tertinggi yaitu perlakuan urea dan hidrogel inkubasi 40 hari yaitu 0,34%.

Abstract

To overcome insufficient sweet corn production in Indonesia, various strategies have been developed to improve its production. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of organic fertilizer (i.e. cow manure) and inorganic fertilizer application on nutrient uptake and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). Inceptisol possess low soil fertility and relatively low to moderate level of organic matter content. Application of organic fertilizer in combination with inorganic fertilizers is expected to increase N, P and K uptake and yield of sweet corn. This study was conducted from October 2016 to February 2017 at the Field Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran in Jatinangor, West Java. The study was performed in a Randomized Block Design consisting of 10 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were as follow: A = Control, B = Standard NPK, C = 0 NPK + 1 organic fertilizer, D = ¼ NPK + 1 organic fertilizer, E = ½ NPK + 1 organic fertilizer,  F = ¾ NPK + 1 organic fertilizer, G = 1 NPK + 1 organic fertilizer, H = ¾ NPK + ¼ organic fertilizer, I = ¾ NPK + ½ organic fertilizer and J = ¾ NPK + ¾ organic fertilizer. The results showed that the treatment I (¾ NPK + ½ organic fertilizer) resulted in the highest N, P and K uptake, i.e. 54.31 mg plant-1; 82.85 mg plant-1 and 56.40 mg plant-1, respectively and the heaviest weight of sweet corn, i.e. 407.33 g.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of nitrogen-fixing endophytic bacteria and N fertilizer on population of nitrogen-fixing (diazotroph) endophytic bacteria, N concentration and dry matter of red chili plant (Capsicum annuum L.) on Inceptisols from Jatinangor. The experiment conducted design was Randomized Block Design in factorial pattern consisted of two factor and three replication. The first factor was diazotroph endophytic bacteriaconsisted two levels: without used diazotroph endophytic bacteria, and used diazotroph endophytic bacteria. The second factor was dosage of N anorganic fertilizer consisted four levels 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg N ha-1. The results showed that there is interaction found between diazotroph endophytic bacteria and N inorganic fertilizer on population of diazotroph endhophytic bacteria  but there were not interaction effect on N concentration and dry matter of red chili plant. Independenly, treatment giving diazotroph endophytic bacteria and N anorganic fertilizer showed not significant effect on N concentration of plant. While the treatment of diazotroph endophytic bacteria and 150 kg N ha-1 inorganic fertilizer were independenly each could significantly increased dry matter of red chili plant on Inceptisols from Jatinangor.           Keywords: Diazotroph endophytic bacteria, N fertilizer, Red chili plant

Abstract

Salinization of soil in coastal area is a serious problem and is increasing steadly. Application biofertilizer consortium is able to improve productivity of rice crops (Oryza sativa L.) grown in saline soils. Biofertilizer supplies nutrients and phytohormones that are beneficial for plant. The aim of this research was to find combination effects of biofertilizer consortium on population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and dry weight of paddy grown in several level of salinity. This research was conducted from December 2016 until February 2017 at greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran with altitude 752 meters above sea levels. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design with single factor experiment which consisted of eight combinations of biofertilizer (Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum sp., endophytic bacteria, PSB, and AMF) and salinity with four replications: A (non saline 0 mmhos cm-1), B (non saline of 0 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer), C (salinity of 2 mmhos cm-1), D (salinity of 2 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer), E (salinity of 4 mmhos cm-1), F (salinity of 4 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer), G (salinity of 6 mmhos cm-1), H (salinity of 6 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer). The result showed that at salinity level of 2-4 mmhos cm-1 the crops still survived growing under salinity stress. Salinity treatment of 2 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer significantly affected popuation of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and salinity treatment of 4 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer significantly affected dry weight of rice.Keyword: Biofertilizer, Dry weight of rice, Paddy (Oryza sativa L.), Population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Saline soils

Abstract

Optimization of production rice plants can be achieved if the needs of macro and micro nutrients essential plant fulfilled. To achieve optimal rice yield can be done by proper fertilization based on the type, characteristics and nutrient content of fertilizers applied. Alternative to increasing rice yield can be done by applying biofertilizer in reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. This experiment aims to determine the effect of Solid Biofertilizer (SBF) on nutrient uptake, growth, and yield and yield components of rice paddy fields. This research was carried out on the planting medium Inceptisols at Jatinangor used a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 10 treatment combinations which replicated 3 times. The results showed that a dose of 1 NPK, combined with SBF ranging from ¼ dose, dose ½, ¾ and 1-dose showed gradual improvement to the uptake of N and P as well as yield and yield components of paddy.Keywords: Solid Biofertilizer, NPK Fertilizer, Paddy Yield

Abstract

Inceptisols is the type of soil in Indonesia that has low fertility. It is necessary to improve the soil fertility through the use of fertilizers and organic matter to raise the quality of Inceptisols. The research was aimed to know the effect of vermicompost and N, P, K fertilizer combination to Organic-C, Total N, C/N and yield of Edamame soybean on Inceptisols at Jatinangor. The research was carried out from March until June 2016 at Ciparanje Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture of University of Padjadjaran at Jatinangor, Sumedang at an altitude about ± 765 meters above sea level. The research used the Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) that consisted of eight treatments and three replications. The treatments were: control (no treatment), ½, 1, and 1½ dose recommendation of N, P, K fertilizer (Urea 100 kg ha-1 + SP-36 150 kg ha-1 + KCl 125 kg ha-1), also, 5 and 10 t ha-1 vermicompost. The results showed that combination treatment of vermicompost and N, P, K fertilizer significantly increased Organic-C, Total N, C/N and yeild of Edamame soybean. The combination of 1 dose recommendation of N, P, K fertilizer and 5 t ha-1 vermicompost gave the best result that produced 116,5 g plant ha-1(10,4 t ha-1) yield of Edamame soybean.Keywords: C/N, Edamame soybean, Inceptisols, N,P,K fertilizer, Vermicompost.

Abstract

Kadmium (Cd) merupakan salah satu logam berat yang dihasilkan dari efek negatif sistem budidaya pertanian.Aplikasi pemupukan dan penggunaan pestisida berlebih dapat menyumbangkan kandungan Cd yang tinggi sehinggadapat menurunkan produktivitas tanah dan mutu hasil pertanian. Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruhpengaruh macam amelioran dalam pemberian berbagai taraf dosis Cd terhadap C Organik, Cd total tanah, serapanCd serta hasil tanaman selada (Lactuca sativa L) pada Andisols asal Lembang. Rancangan yang dilakukan dalampenelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), dengan dua puluh perlakuan dan dua kali ulangan, sehinggaseluruhnya berjumlah empat puluh perlakuan. Faktor pertama yaitu macam amelioran yang terdiri dari tanpaamelioran (kontrol), kompos serasah daun jagung, arang sekam, zeolit dan dolomit. Sedangkan faktor kedua yaituberbagai taraf dosis Cd, yang terdiri dari larutan Cd 0 ppm, larutan Cd 1 ppm, larutan Cd 2 ppm dan larutan Cd 3ppm. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi interaksi antara macam amelioran dan taraf dosis Cdterhadap semua parameter akan tetapi memberikan pengaruh secara mandiri untuk Cd total, serapan Cd dan hasiltanaman selada. Pada perlakuan amelioran dolomit, dapat memberikan rata-rata hasil tanaman selada tertinggi yaitu41,58 gr.Kata Kunci : Amelioran, keberlanjutan, pencemaran tanah

Abstract

Degradation of rice fields ecosistem from industrial waste contamination has caused harmful impact for farmingsustainability and developing crop production. This study aimed to investigate the effect of various treatment of NPKand Liquid Organic Fertillizer towards several chemical compound in the soil and Vegetatif and generative Growth ofSweet Corn (Zea mays) in clarifier contaminated rice fields from industrial waste. The experiment was conducted in thecontaminated clarifier ricefield of PT PUPUK KUJANG CIKAMPEK from June to August 2017. Randomized blockdesign with nine single treatment, that is A = 0 NPK and 0 ml/L POC, B = 1 NPK and 0 ml/L POC, C = 1 NPK and 2,5ml/L POC, D = 1 NPK and 5 ml/L POC, E = 1 NPK and 7,5 ml/L POC, dan F = 1 NPK and 10 ml/L POC, G = 3/4NPK and 5 ml/L POC, H = 1/2 NPK and 5 ml/L POC, I = 0 NPK and 5 ml/L POC each with three replicates was usedas experimental design in this research.
