Abstract

The objective of the study was to identify the responses of oil palm seedlings to drought stress conditions during pre-nursery cultivation. The research was conducted at two locations: the Maguwoharjo Educational and Research Field (Kebun Pendidikan dan Penelitian/KP2) and the Central Laboratory of the STIPER Yogyakarta Institute of Agriculture. The research was carried out from April to July 2021. A factorial experimental design with two factors arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) was used in this study. The first factor consisted of three hybrid oil palm varieties: D×P SAIN-2 (V1), D×P SAIN-3 (V2), D×P SAIN-4 (V3). The second factor was the irrigation frequency or drought stress level, with three levels: watering once a day (F1), watering every 2 days (F2), and watering every 3 days (F3). The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at significant level of 5%. In the event of significant differences being identified among the treatments, further testing was conducted using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The result showed that there was no significant interaction between different varieties and irrigation frequencies on oil palm seedling growth in the pre-nursery stage. However, the variety D×P SAIN-4 exhibited significant effect on stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area, and fresh stem weight. Under drought stress conditions, the best growth performance was observed in oil palm seedlings of the D×P SAIN-4, followed by the D×P SAIN-2. Additionally, irrigation frequency influenced stem diameter and leaf number. Overall, oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage showed the best growth when watered once a day. In the pre-nursery cultivation stage, all oil palm seed varieties can tolerate watering every 2 (two) days

Abstract

Abstract

BackgroundTriple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) accounts for 9-17% of all breast cancer diagnoses. TNBC has a high proliferation index and a poor prognosis with a higher response rate to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, but does not correlate with Overall Survival (OS) due to chemoresistence in more than 50% of TNBC. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy with anthracycline (doxorubicin) based regimens in combination with fluorouracil and cyclophosphamide (FAC) is still an option for TNBC. The aim of this study was to determine association between clinicopathological profile and response to neoajuvan chemotherapy in TNBC at Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung which is a referral hospital in West Java.MethodsThis study used an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 40 TNBC cases from January 2017 to December 2019 at Dr. Hasan Sadikin hospital. Data obtained from medical records and archives of the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory consist of clinical response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, age, tumor size, lymph node metastases and distant metastases, clinical stage, type of histopathology and lymphovascular vessel invasion.ResultsIn 40 cases of TNBC, 20 cases responded and 20 cases did not respond to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. In the non-response group, there were 90% of cases with histopathologic type invasive carcinoma of no special type and 75% showed invasion of lymphovascular vessels. There were no significant differences in age, tumor size, lymphovascular vessel invasion, stage, or histopathological type in the response and non-response groups.ConclusionThere is no correlation between clinicopathological features and neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in the case of Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). This can be caused by other factors including high heterogeneous tumor microenvironment (TME).

Abstract

This study investigates the types and underlying causes of students’ errors when evaluating non-routine algebraic problems that present procedurally plausible but logically invalid solution steps. The participants were 37 ninth-grade junior high school students from East Java, Indonesia, who had previously studied basic algebraic operations. Data were collected through a diagnostic task involving an algebraic fallacy that leads to a contradictory conclusion (e.g., 2 = 3), followed by semi-structured interviews with selected students. The analysis was guided by Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA), focusing on reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding errors. Students’ written responses were independently coded by the researchers using predefined NEA indicators, and discrepancies were resolved through discussion. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize error frequencies, while interview data were analyzed qualitatively to explore students’ reasoning. The results indicate that transformation errors were the most dominant, occurring in 48.64% of students’ responses, particularly due to inappropriate cancellation of algebraic factors without considering domain restrictions. Many students accepted contradictory conclusions such as 2 = 3 or 3 = 2 as valid, as long as the solution steps appeared procedurally correct. These findings suggest that students tend to rely on mechanical algebraic procedures rather than validating the conceptual legitimacy of each transformation. The study highlights the importance of emphasizing equivalence-preserving transformations and domain conditions in algebra instruction, especially through non-routine tasks that require justification and critical validation of solution steps.
