Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan LKS materi Ekosistem berbasis pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI) untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, dan mengetahui respon siswa terhadap keterbacaan LKS, serta keterlaksanaan LKS. Siswa dilatih keterampilan berpikir kritis melalui memecahkan masalah yang terkait dengan lingkungan dalam suatu  kegiatan penyelidikan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari tahap pengembangan LKS dan tahap uji coba LKS. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah LKS biologi materi ekosistem yang diujicobakan di kelas X-9 SMA Negeri 3 Nganjuk dengan siswa sebanyak 36 orang. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kelayakan LKS berbasis pembelajaran kooperatif GI sebesar 86,5% dengan kategori sangat layak. (2) Respon siswa terhadap keterbacaan LKS sebesar 86,23% dengan kategori sangat layak. (3) Keterampilan berpikir kritis yang yang dilatihkan dalam LKS belum semua dapat dikuasai oleh siswa. Kata kunci: LKS, pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation (GI), berpikir kritis

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini dususn dengan pijakan rendahnya nilai UAN dan resahnya guru mengahdapi UAN serta rendanya taraf berpikir kritis siswa pada bidang IPA. Jika proses pembelajaran biologi khususnya dan sain pada umunya dikelola dengan baik, maka akan diperoleh hasil belajar yang baik. Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran ditentukan oleh banyak faktor, salah satu di antaranya partisipasi aktif siswa, seperti menyampaikan ide, mengajukan pertanyaan, dan menjawab pertanyaan. Kesempatan partisipasi sulit diperoleh setiap siswa jika pembelajaran diselenggarakn secara klasikal. Siswa yang mempunyai keberanian dan pandai dalam mengemukakan pendapat selalu aktif mendominasi kelas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang memberi kesempatan kepada seluruh siswa agar berpartisipasi. Salah satu cara yang dapat meningkatkan partisipasi seluruh siswa adalah membentuk siswa dalam kelompok koperatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyusun perangkat pembelajaran biologi berbasis pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, NHT, dan TPS dan mengetahui kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran yang telah disusun Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan mengikuti tahap-tahap Four D Models yang terdiri atas Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate.  Namun, pada tahap Disseminate belum dilakukan. Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dengan menggunakan tipe pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD , NHT, dan TPS masing-masing dikembangkan empat RPP sesuai jumlah materi sehingga jumlah keseluruhan 12 RPP.  Buku Siswa sebanyak empat materi yaitu Ekosistem, Daur Biogeokomia, Pencemaran Lingkungan, dan Pelestarian Lingkungan. Lembar Kerja Siswa  sebanyak 3 tipe kooperatif  yaitu STAD, NHT, dan TPS masing-masing terdiri dari 5 LKS sesuai materi yang ada dan LKS sesuai setiap model pembelajaran kooperatif. Jadi jumlah keseluruhan 15 LKS. Lembar Tes Hasil Belajar dan Kunci yang tertulis dalam bentuk kisi-kisi lembar penilaian. Berhasil dikembangkan 18 soal yang berbasis berpikir kritis. Pada dasarnya perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mengacu pada standar  BSNP. Hasil pengembangan perangkat berkategori sangat baik dengan kata lain perangkat yang disusun peneliti yang terdiri dari RPP, buku siswa, dan LKS  serta tes hasil belajar layak untuk diujicobakan. Hasil validasi RPP memperoleh  3,88 berkategori sangat baik , buku siswa memperoleh nilai  3,5 berkategori sangat baik , dan LKS memperoleh nilai 3,66 berkategori sangat baik, dan yang terakhir tes hasil belajar validasinya juga berkategori sangat baik.   Kata kunci : perangkat pembelajaran, kooperatif, berpikir kritis

Abstract

Tujuan umum kegiatan Lesson Study/LS  ini adalah meningkatkan kualitas  pembelajaran biologi di SMPN Kabupaten Ponorogo. Tujuan khusus (a)  guru IPA-Biologi dapat mengembangkan RPP  dan perangkatnya, (b) Guru IPA-Biologi dapat melaksanakan  open lesson  sesuai dengan RPP dan perangkat yang dibuat, (c) Guru IPA-Biologi dapat melaksanakan  LS. Sasaran  LS  adalah 7 (tujuh)  guru IPA-Biologi di SMPN dari berbagai katagori, termasuk  Sekolah Pelayanan Minimum di Kabupaten Ponorogo. Metode yang ditempuh untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut melalui kegiatan Workshop, Pendampingan I, dan Pendampingan II. Pada saat  Workshop  guru  IPA-Biologi menghasilkan perangkat yang akan digunakan dalam  LS sedangkannarasumber melakukan modelling dari RPP dan LKS Inkuiri yang dicontohkan. Pelaksanaan Pendampingan I dan Pendampingan II  menggunakan LS yang meliputi fase Plan, Do dan See. Hasil kegiatan LS menunjukkan 7 guru IPA-Biologi sudah dapat menyusun RPP dan perangkatnya, hanya 4 guru yang dapat melaksanakan  open lesson, dari empat guru IPA-Biologi yang menjadi model, dua guru mengalami peningkatan kemampuan mengajar,  satu guru tidak mengalami peningkatan, dan satu guru sudah mempunyai kemampuan mengajar sangat baik. Abstract

Objective: Scientific reasoning is one of the most essential skills in learning biology and can be trained by integrating local wisdom. The lack of learning media that facilitates student learning causes low students' scientific reasoning skills. The development of learning media that integrates local wisdom is needed to train students' scientific reasoning. Method: The e-Book development procedure uses the ASSURE model which consists of six stages namely (1) analyze learner characteristics, (2) state objectives, (3) select, modify or design media, (4) utilize media, (5) requires learner responses, dan (6) evaluate. Data collection was collected by validation, observation, tests, and student response questionnaires. The One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design was implemented at Muhammadiyah 10 High School Surabaya for the 2022/2023 school year.  Results: The results showed that (1) the developed e-book was valid with an average validity value of 93%, (2) learning implementation was 92.5% at the first meeting, and 81% at the second meeting with the high category, (3 ) student learning outcomes in the scientific reasoning indicator increased to 88% in probabilistic reasoning, 82% in theoretical reasoning, 80% in correlation reasoning and 79% in proportional reasoning, as well as the n-Gain calculation results which with high criteria and (4) positive student responses to the use of e-books. So that the developed e-book is feasible to use in terms of local wisdom potential, e-book validity, practicality, and e-book effectiveness.  Novelty: The development of an e-book on ecosystem material with the integration of local wisdom from fish ponds to train scientific reasoning skills has never been done before.

Abstract

Assessing preservice' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in science and mathematics is essential. Teachers' HOTS ability is closely related to their ability to create HOTS-type science and mathematics problems. Among various types of HOTS, one is Bloomian HOTS. To facilitate the preservice teacher to create problems in those subjects, an Android app called EduAssess was developed as a Bloomian HOTS test for junior high school preservice teachers. This study aims to validate the problems in the EduAssess app through content validity. Content validity was analyzed using Aiken's V formula and expanded Gregory formula. EduAssess comprised three test sets for science and mathematics, each comprising 9 items. The instrument validated by three experts in each subject. The study results demonstrate that EduAssess, for both mathematics and science, has achieved content validity. Expert judgments confirmed the validity of EduAssess items, with Aiken's V index ranging from 0.67 to 1.00, meanwhile expanded Gregory index ranging from 0.78-1.00. The results showed that EduAssess includes analysis, evaluation, and creation. The findings highlight that the application instrument in facilitating pre-service teachers by measuring their ability to analyze, evaluate and create HOTS problems in science and mathematics subjects was proven valid and ready for data collection.

Abstract

Reflective judgement is the ability to evaluate and process information to reach conclusions based on the data collected. Students who have good reflective judgment skills are more capable in solving complex problems. Students can explore various solutions, consider the consequences of each solution, and make better decisions based on critical and systematic analysis. An approach that can be applied in learning to train reflective judgment skills is the SSI approach. Learning using the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approach seeks to engage students in decision-making about current social issues that have a moral impact in a scientific context. The purpose of the research is to produce Students' Worksheets based on the SSI of environmental change topic to train reflective judgment that are valid, practice, and effective. This research is a development research consisting of analysis, design, development and evaluation stages. This research produced Students' Worksheets contains two learning activities and features that are in accordance with SSI aspects. The Bio-News feature contains articles about the Earthquake on Bawean Island and the Operation of the Cement Factory which students will then explore with the Bio-Explore, Bio-Disscus features, and in the Bio-Evaluate feature students make problem solving decisions on the articles presented. The validation results based on aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language feasibility, and aspects of practicing reflective judgment ability amounted to 3.86, categorized as very valid.

Abstract

One of the learning outcomes in the independent curriculum is to be able to establish students' critical thinking skills. The ability to think critically is still low from year to year because students lack opportunities to practice critical thinking skills. Teaching materials that can be used to improve students' critical thinking skills are interactive e-books. The purpose of this research is to describe the validity of interactive e-books on human heredity subject to improve the critical thinking skills of 12th grade high school students. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model. At the development stage, the validity of the interactive e-book was measured from the results of validation by three validators. At the implementation stage, the research was conducted on 31 students of class XII at SMAN 1 Sugihwaras, Bojonegoro. Data collection techniques were carried out by validation methods and analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The validation results were declared highly valid with an average percentage of content eligibility of 90.5%, presentation eligibility of 92.5%, and linguistic eligibility of 100%. Based on the three eligibility criteria, the overall average percentage of 90% was obtained, indicating a highly valid category. The interactive e-book has four main features accompanied by several tasks and contains four critical thinking indicators (interpretation, analysis, explanation, and evaluation) that must be answered by students, so that this interactive e-book on human heredity material can improve students' critical thinking skills. The results of the study recommend that every school and biology teacher use interactive e-books as teaching materials to deliver heredity material as well as improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The world is transitioning toward Society 5.0, characterized by increasing globalization and advancements in digital technology, leading to substantial societal transformations, including the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, Big Data, and robots. Education may capitalize on this by utilizing ICT-based learning media accessible via diverse electronic device. Furthermore, it possesses the capacity to improve digital literacy competencies. Telegram is one of the available technologies. A survey conducted among 20 students revealed that 70% utilize the Telegram application, while its use for academic is infrequent. This project aims to create a valid, practical, and effective Telegram bot for acquiring knowledge about viruses. This study employs the 4D method (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data were gathered utilizing validation procedures, Fry readability assessments, questionnaires, and examinations. The research trial was conducted on 20 students from Labschool Unesa 1 High School. We examined the gathered data employing descriptive-quantitative methodologies. The research findings indicate that ViBot possesses a high validity score of 3.87, rendering it appropriate for educational purposes; it is regarded as practical according to the readability assessment, which yielded a level 10 and a student response rate of 97.5%; ViBot is classified as highly effective based in the comprehensiveness of digital literacy indicators, achieving a percentage of 83.75%, which falls within the very good category. Consequently, we can ascertain that ViBot is valid, practical, and effective for imparting digital literacy in the 10th grade.

Abstract

assessment are based on high school thinking skills. High school teachers who are members of the Tuban Regency MGMP experience difficulties in developing HOTS questions, such as lacking knowledge of various platforms that can be used to carry out e-assessments. The solution to solving the problems experienced is achieving an assessment as learning program combining multiplatform assessment links and Quizzes in creating HOTS questions. This community service involves MGMP Biology and the PkM biology team (University). The aim of this PKM activity is to improve skills in preparing cognitive aspect questions using multiplatform (assessment link-qiuzziz), so that good e-assessment management can improve the quality of learning both online and offline in the era of independent learning. The stages of PkM activities include Pre-Activity (Material Presentation), implementation (Workshop and Mentoring) and Simulation, Presentation and Evaluation which have been carried out online and offline. The workshop participants were 10 teachers, members of the Tuban Regency High School Biology MGMP. PkM mentoring activities are continued synchronously via Google Meet and asynchronously via Google Classroom. Participants are provided with knowledge related to the cognitive domain with the Assessment Link application; Creating HOT questions on Biology material as well as Tutorials for creating Assessment as learning based on the Quizziz platform. Assessment of PkM activities was assessed through pre-test and post-test with an average score increase of 12.4%. Eight participant response rubrics showed a range of strongly agree statements between 48.8-83.7% who felt the suitability of the material and the good allocation of training time. This service received appreciation from teachers in improving skills in using HOTS question instruments in the learning process in accordance with the stages and guidelines for writing HOTS questions.

Abstract

Biology learning in schools is often theoretical and involves less direct exploration, so that students' science process skills have not developed optimally. This study aims to produce and test the validity of Atlas Pteridophyta based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and integrated with the local wisdom of the community in the Tahura R. Soerjo area as a biology learning media to train science process skills. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). This atlas was developed through field exploration of local fern species that are utilized by the community in the context of culture, medicine, and food, then integrated into project-based activities. Validation was conducted by three validators, namely two lecturers of material and media experts to ensure the accuracy of the concept, and one biology teacher to assess the ease of use of the atlas. The validation used a questionnaire that assessed aspects of presentation, integration with PjBL, and relevance to science process skills. The validation results showed that the atlas had an excellent level of validity, with an average score of 3.95. The aspects of integration with PjBL and science process skills scored 3.92 and 3.85, respectively. Although this atlas has not yet been implemented in schools, its use is planned in the pilot stage in one of the high schools in Jombang for grade 10 students. This research is still limited to expert validation and does not include effectiveness testing in the field, so there is no comparison with other learning methods. Therefore, further research is needed to empirically determine the impact of using the atlas on science process skills. In conclusion, the PjBL-based Atlas of Pteridophyta is feasible for use as a contextual and exploratory biology learning medium. The integration of local wisdom also provides a more authentic learning experience and is relevant to the students' environment.
