Abstract

Political participation is an activity or various voluntary activities of the community to take part in the election process for the ruler. The purpose of this study is to see whether Money Politics and Voter Political Behavior have an influence on the Level of Political Participation in the 2020 Batanghari Regency Election. This study uses a quantitative method with data collection techniques assisted through Google Forms in compiling questionnaires distributed to respondents. This study uses simple random sampling with a population of people who have the right to vote in the 2020 Batanghari Regency Election. This study uses the Slovin formula by taking a sample of 50 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the variables of Giving Money (X1), Giving Goods (X2), and Psychological Approach (X4) have a positive value or have a significant effect on the Level of Political Participation in the 2020 Batanghari Regency Election. Meanwhile, the Sociological Approach variable (X3) has a negative value or does not have a significant effect on the Level of Political Participation in the 2020 Batanghari Regency Election. Furthermore, the interpretation of the regression results and R-Square on the Political Participation Level (TPP) variable is 95%, so the scale obtained is in the strong or good category.

Abstract

The philosophy of science plays a fundamental role in shaping rational, systematic, and responsible scientific thinking. In the development of modern science, scientific thinking is often limited to a methodological-positivistic dimension and separated from the value dimension. This article aims to broaden the horizon of scientific thinking by integrating the philosophy of science with an Islamic perspective and the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah (objectives of Islamic law). This research uses a library research method with a philosophical-normative approach and conceptual analysis. The results show that the philosophy of science functions as a meta-theoretical tool that guides the ontology, epistemology, and axiology of science. In Islam, scientific rationality is rooted in monotheism and driven by revelation, while the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah serves as an axiological compass that ensures that science is oriented towards the benefit of God. This integration creates a scientific thinking paradigm that is holistic, ethical, and relevant to the challenges of contemporary science.

Abstract

This study examines how Ibrahim Musa Parabek (1883-1963) integrated theology, rationalism, and empirical science within the colonial intellectual context of early twentieth-century Minangkabau. Departing from dichotomous and synthetic frameworks that dominate existing scholarship on Islamic modernism, this paper argues that his epistemological project constitutes a structured form of epistemic hybridity produced within a localized Third Space. Drawing on Bhabha’s theoretical apparatus of hybridity, mimicry, and Third space, and employing thematical-content analysis of primary texts, historical-contextual reconstruction, and hermeneutic-philosophical synthesis, this study identifies three operative mechanisms in Ibrahim’s thought: domain differentiation (taqsīm al-majāl), hierarchical ordering of knowledge sources (tartīb), and functional mimicry of rational-scientific procedures. Analysis of Ijābat al-Sūl, Hidāyat al-Ṣibyān, and Thawalib Parabek teaching manuscripts demonstrates that reason was granted bounded cognitive authority in worldly domains while revelation retained exclusive normative jurisdiction. These findings reconceptualize hybridity as epistemic modulation, reframe Thawalib Parabek as a productive institution of Islamic knowledge production, and demonstrate that alternative modernities can be constructed from within Islamic doctrinal traditions without compromising their foundational premises.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of boarding school management in improving student achievement at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Kinanah Jambi City. The research focuses on the management functions applied in the boarding school program, the outcomes achieved in improving students’ academic and non-academic achievements, as well as the obstacles and solutions encountered in its implementation. This study employed a qualitative research approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that the management of the boarding school at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Kinanah Jambi City has been implemented effectively through proper planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. The planning process is reflected in the preparation of academic calendars, dormitory schedules, and standard operating procedures for students’ daily activities. The organizational structure is clearly arranged with well-defined duties and responsibilities. The implementation of the boarding school program runs according to schedule and supports the development of students’ discipline, religious character, and learning motivation. The results indicate that the boarding school program contributes significantly to improving student achievement both academically and non-academically. However, several obstacles were identified, including limited facilities, shortage of teaching staff, and constraints in extracurricular program development. Therefore, continuous improvement in management and infrastructure is necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the boarding school program.
