Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L) is a plant originating from South America. Indonesia has two types of cocoa grown, namely noble cocoa (edel) and bulk cocoa, for better quality cocoa is bulk cocoa. The part of cocoa that is used is the seeds that have been dried and then processed into cocoa powder. Cocoa beans that have been harvested are fermented so that they can be sold by cocoa through testing can be seen using tables and graphs in the development of the test every hour. The heat transfer in this test is conduction and convection. The results of the first test using a variation of 6 heater elements obtained data from 2000gram wet cocoa to 1100gram dry cocoa. This test got the highest temperature of 39.50C for 11 hours. The second test of variations with 6 heater elements and an additional fan got the highest temperature of 41.50C for 10 hours with cocoa after testing 1150gram. The second test found cocoa with the best level of AA because there were 84 dry beans in 100gram, the color was dry brown and the drying time was faster than the traditional method, such as farmers usually requiring 5 to 7 days of drying.

Abstract

Technological and economic developments are directly proportional to the industrial sector, especially in countries that are still developing. The food industry is one of them. Chocolate is one of the growing foods industri. The research on Comparison of the Drying Rate of Cocoa Beans Using a Dryer with Electricity and Solar Energy was carried out using an experimental method, namely with electricity coming from solar panels and then with electricity from PLN. The test aims to get a comparison of the effectiveness of electrical energy against solar panels. Cocoa beans that will be tested for drying before must be fermented first. The purpose of this test is to determine the drying time in a cocoa bean dryer with electricity and solar panels. This test uses the drying method using solar panels and uses electricity. Heat transfer in this test is conduction and convection. Test results are carried out in two stages. the first stage using electrical energy with the result of drying using cocoa beans weighing 2000 grams with a 271watt heater with the highest temperature of 43.6 0C can reduce the water content by around 59% from the mass of the 2000 gram sample weight of cocoa to 812 grams. The second stage is using solar panels where the drying process is divided into 2 stages, the first 8 hours with solar power and solar panels then the next stage using the help of batteries in the afternoon until evening. This stage can produce dry cocoa beans weighing 800 grams of dry cocoa beans from 2000 grams of wet cocoa beans. Thus, it can be concluded that the best drying using electric power can produce 812 grams of dry cocoa from 2000 grams of wet cocoa.

Abstract

Bakso is a type of chicken meat ball that is commonly found in Indonesian cuisine. Currently, chicken meatballs are one of the processed chicken meat products that have a particular taste. The biggest energy contribution comes from protein, which reaches 60 percent, followed by fat as much as 38% and carbohydrates as much as 2%. The high public demand for processed products such as chicken meatballs has resulted in most shops, from stalls, school canteens, grocery stores, to supermarkets selling chicken meatballs. Before the existence of modern meat grinding machines, the process of grinding chicken meat was very difficult, but now, with advances in technology, there are many grinding machines on the market that simplify the process of grinding meat. The business of making and selling chicken meatballs has attracted the interest of several community business groups with small and medium scale businesses. In order for the business of producing and selling chicken to meet public demand both in terms of quantity and in terms of quality, good planning and management is needed. The design method used includes grinding machine product design. The result of the design that has been done is the output diameter of the meat with a size of 5 mm with the appropriate results (fine on average). Where the diameter of 2 mm and 3 mm produces chicken meat that comes out very slowly and is very smooth and causes the meat to melt and the chicken meat comes out fast and smooth. Thus, it can be concluded that a chicken meat grinder machine can grind 1 kg of chicken meat in 1 minute and the appropriate output hole size is 5 mm with a smooth and fast output of chicken meat.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk melakukan uji terhadap kerja mesin pemecah kemiri “double roll” pada beragam jarak. Pelaksanaan penelitian ialah Agustus sampai Oktober 2022 di Laboratorium Teknik Mesin di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Yang menjadi faktor penelitian ini yaitu pengaruh jarak roll terhadap persentase pecah biji kemiri. Ada lima jarak variasi roll yaitu 1,3 cm, 1,5 cm, 1,7 cm, 1,9 cm, 2,1 cm dan masing-masing jarak dilakukan pengujian satu kilogram. Pengujian ini dilakukan dengan empat parameter yaitu persentase inti utuh, inti belah dua, inti hancur, biji lolos. Hasil pengujian ini menunjukkan bahwa jarak roll berpengaruh besar pada mesin kemiri dan hasil pecah biji kemiri. Dari pengujian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin kecil jarak roll membuat hasil inti hancur semakin banyak dan begitu juga dengan semakin lebar jarak roll semakin banyak biji kemiri yang lolos. Nilai persentase inti utuh tertinggi pada jarak roll 2,1 cm yaitu 0,03%. Persentase inti belah dua tertingi terdapat pada jarak roll 1,3 cm yaitu 0,13%. Persentase inti hancur tertinggi terdapat pada jarak roll 1,3 cm yaitu 0,26%. Persentase biji lolos tertinggi terdapat pada jarak roll 2,1 cm yaitu 0,54%.

Abstract

Mesin pengupas kulit kacang dapat selalu berada pada kondisi yang prima maka diperlukan perawatan sebagai pengoptimalkan dari kompone-komponen peralatan maupun system tersebut. Penggunaan mesin yang dilakukan ecara terus menerus harus didukung oleh kegiatan perawatan mesin (maintenance) yang baik juga dalam setiap perawatannya, dengan bertujuan untuk menghindari penurunan fungsi mesin saat beroprasi atau produksi dan yang utama agar terhindar dari terjadinya kerusakan total mesin (Breakdown). Menganalisa hasil pengolahan data untuk mengetahui seberapa besar perubahan tingkat efektivitas penggunaan mesin/ peralatan dan untuk memperoleh penyelesaian dari masalah yang ada,dengan cara menganalisa perhitungan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Dari permasalahn yang timbul diatas maka ditemukan Rata – rata hasil perhitungan Overall Equipment Effectiveness adalah 19,12%. Nilai ini masih jauh dibawah standar dunia yaitu 85%. Mesin ini mempunyai kapasitas 3 kg/1 menit dikalkulasikan kedalam 60 menit.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki iklim yang mendukung pengunaan panel surya pertanian kakao di disetiap provinsi. Terutama di negara berkembang, industri di berbagai bidang semakin meningkat. Salah satunya ialah industri pangan yang mengolah bahan mentah menjadi makanan olahan siap saji dengan berbagai variasinya. Contoh makanan yang sangat populer adalah coklat. Bahan dasar coklat adalah biji kakao, yang menyebabkan peningkatan permintaan biji kakao, yang merupakan bahan dasar coklat. Biji kakao digunakan sebagai bahan dalam minuman, campuran kembang gula, dan yang lainnya. Karena kandungan lemak yang tinggi dari biji kakao, biji kakao juga dapat diolah menjadi “cocoa butter”, wewangian, dan obat. Dan jika digunakan dengan benar akan menghasilkan produk yang menguntungkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan berapa heater yang lebih cepat proses pengeringannya. Adapun penelitian ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahap uji coba pengeringan menggunaan heater. Ternyata heater berpengaruh terhadap cepatnya proses pengeringan biji kakao. Dengan menggunakan 2 heater, lama pengeringan 24 jam, 2 kg biji kakao basah menjadi 897 gr biji kakao kering.

Abstract

PT Maha Green is a business that is engaged in the distribution of 4 and 3 Kg Elpiji gas to several bases and consumers, but the method used in ordering Elpiji gas is still using the manual method, namely by approaching the bases one by one without knowing how many empty tubes are available at the base to be filled. , so it takes a lot of time. Therefore PT Maha Green is trying to improve services to the Base and Consumers so that the load and time used to deliver orders are more effective. This study aims to determine the effect of motivation and organizational commitment to employee performance at PT.Maha Green. This study uses survey methods and techniques data collection used is a literature study, questionnaires and interviews. The population in this study are all employees of PT. Maha Green totaled 34 people. This research uses the method simple regression analysis and multiple regression. Data that have been collected and processed using the program SPSS 23. The results showed that motivation and organizational commitment has a significant influence on employee performance either partially or partially simultaneous. Organizational motivation and commitment have greater influence on employee performance if both are increased simultaneously rather than simultaneously Partial.

Abstract

The main problem that is often found in the failure of microalgae production is poor water quality during the maintenance period. One of the causes of deteriorating water quality is the lack of oxygen which endangers microalgae which can inhibit cell growth so that it can reduce its productivity. On this basis, efforts are needed to refresh the water or aeration to help increase the dissolved oxygen (DO) level in the microalgae growth container using a paddle wheel. The development of an aerator blade design that has optimum efficiency is needed to reduce high electricity consumption and see more effective cell growth.

Abstract

Tingginya aktivitas budidaya di Indonesia menghadirkan tantangan tersendiri yaitu dengan tingginya biaya produksi yang diakibatkan beban penggunaan pakan (pellet). Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan terobosan baru untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan memanfaatkan mikroalga sebagai pakan alami ikan, terkhusus pada fase benih. Disamping mampu mengurangi biaya produksi, juga mampu menghasilkan benih yang unggul. Mikroalga merupakan tumbuhan air yang memiliki peran yang sangat penting di perairan karena berada di dasar sistem rantai makanan (produsen primer). Mikroalga termasuk jenis tumbuhan air yang mampu tumbuh dalam waktu yang cukup singkat. Selama hidupnya, mikroalga melalui 5 fase yakni fase lag, fase logaritmik, fase penurunan pertumbuhan, fase stasioner dan fase kematian. Dalam biomassa mikroalga terkandung bahan-bahan penting yang sangat bermanfaat seperti protein, karbohidrat, lemak dan asam nukleat. Kandungan mikroalga tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar dalam menjadikan sebagai pakan alami yang bermutu. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam melakukan kultivasi mikroalga skala massal dengan metode Open raceway ponds secara mandiri. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman dan kemampuan teknis peserta baik berdasarkan hasil ujian materi dan hasil uji praktek pengukuran kualitas air dan pengukuran kepadatan sel mikroalga.

Abstract

Simartugan Village is a place that has a lot of potential that can be developed both from natural resources and human resources. The problem found in Simartugan village is the lack of cleanliness in the village. Therefore, the work program of the UHKBNP KPPM group located in the village of Simartugan is for the welfare of residents regarding the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the community environment. The work program created aims to create a clean and healthy environment in addition to helping each other. The method used is in the form of Environmental Cleaning Social Service activities by carrying out Cooperation. The Environmental Cleaning Social Service activity is an activity where with this activity we can strengthen our kinship. Mutual cooperation between residents carried out by students is to create a sense of love, a sense of mutual assistance, a sense of mutual care for students in the wider community who are in need of their helping hand. The activity method used is observation and participation. The observation was carried out by checking the location of Mutual Cooperation in the hamlet 1 – hamlet 6 environment of Simartugan village.
