Abstract

Puskesmas Singkawang Utara I Kota Singkawang.

Abstract

Introduction: A person is considered elderly if they are 60 years of age or older, regardless of gender. The Riau Province Central Statistics Agency projects that 482,933 persons will be among the elderly in 2022. According to data spanning from January 2023 to March 2023, there was a 20% monthly decline in the average number of senior individuals visiting Health Care for the senior. Seniors who receive fewer visits from senior Health Care may find it more difficult to keep track of their health and may exhibit signs of degenerative illnesses brought on by compromised physical components. Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the variables that affect how often the elderly in the West Dumai Health Center Working Area use Health Care. Method: In this study, stratified random sampling and quantitative techniques with a cross-sectional design were used. There were 973 respondents in the research population, and 91 respondents made up the research sample. In this study, a questionnaire is used. This study was conducted from September to October 2023. Univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses were used. Logistic regression and the chi-square test were the statistical tests that were employed. Result: The research results showed that there was an influence of Education p value=0.000, Occupation p value=0.010, Knowledge p value=0.000, Attitude p value=0.001, Family Support p value=0.016 and no influence of Distance to Health Services p value=0.627 with the use of Health Care for the elderly. Based on the results of the logistic regression test, the most influential variable is attitude with an Exp(B) value of 7.276. Conclusion: The study's findings indicated that while the distance between health services and the use of Health Care by the elderly in the West Dumai Health Center Working Area is unaffected, education, employment, knowledge, attitudes, and family support are. To keep an eye on the elderly's condition, it was desired that health professionals, especially those at Community Health Centers, would provide more counseling and education on the value of Health Care for the elderly and routinely visit Health Care for the elderly at least once a month.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious public health problem that has a long-term impact on the quality of life of future generations, especially in terms of physical, cognitive, and productivity growth. This study aims to analyze maternal factors that affect the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 6–24 months in South Aceh Regency, the area with the highest prevalence of stunting in Aceh Province. The research design used a case-control study involving 228 respondents, consisting of 114 stunted toddlers as the case group and 114 non-stunted toddlers as the control group. Data were obtained through maternal health records (KIA book), observations, and e-PPGBM data, then analyzed using multiple logistic regression. The results of the study showed that maternal factors that had a significant effect on the incidence of stunting were the age of at-risk mothers (<20 years or >35 years), the number of children, pregnancy anemia, and chronic energy deficiency (KEK). The SEZ factor during pregnancy was the most dominant determinant with a 4.46 times greater risk of giving birth to stunted children compared to mothers with normal nutritional status (p=0.014; 95% CI=1.35–14.73). These findings confirm the importance of maternal nutrition interventions from pre-conception to pregnancy, optimization of antenatal care (ANC) visits, and appropriate family planning as a stunting prevention strategy based on local contexts.

Abstract

The Emergency Department (ED) is a hospital unit responsible for managing patients with emergency and life-threatening conditions, requiring a fast and accurate response time. However, the response time performance at the Emergency Department of RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan has not been optimal. Data from January to March 2025 showed that out of every 10 patients, only 6–7 patients (60–70%) received treatment within the standard response time (0–10 minutes for red category, 30 minutes for yellow, and 60 minutes for green), while 3–4 patients (30–40%) did not meet the standard. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing patient management response time in the Emergency Department of RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau. This study employed a mixed-methods approach with a quantitative sample of 40 nurses selected from a population of 66 using the Slovin formula, and 5 qualitative informants (2 physicians and 3 nurses). Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and observation. Quantitative data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses with multiple logistic regression, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that knowledge, skills, facilities, and training had a significant influence on patient management response time in the ED, with knowledge identified as the most dominant factor. Meanwhile, motivation, workload, and patient condition were not significantly associated with response time. In conclusion, knowledge, skills, facilities, and training are key factors influencing response time in emergency patient management. It is recommended that hospitals enhance healthcare workers’ competencies through regular and structured training and ensure adequate facilities and infrastructure to improve the quality of emergency services.
