Abstract

Sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan yang menjadi penggerak utama dalam bidang agribisnis di Kabupaten Sigi merupakan sektor terpenting yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Kenyataan ini bisa dilihat dari besarnya kontribusi yang diberikan sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan masih sangat dominan terhadap pembentukan Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) berdasarkan harga konstan Tahun 2015 di Kabupaten Sigi yaitu sebesar 41,68% pada tahun 2019. Perolehan PDRB tersebut belum diketahui dari komoditas apa dan dari kecamatan mana, oleh karena itu guna meningkatkan PDRB saat ini diperlukan informasi yang lebih rinci, yaitu informasi tentang komoditas pangan yang memiliki potensi daya saing kompetitif dan komparatif serta sektor basis dalam pengembangan produksi tanaman pangan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis macam-macam komoditas tanaman pangan unggulan dan mengkaji struktur pertumbuhan komoditas tanaman pangan di Kabupaten Sigi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Location Quotient (LQ) dengan pengambilan data produksi komoditas tanaman pangan selama 2015 s/d 2019. Metode LQ menghasilkan komoditas yang tergolong unggulan secara keseluruhan yaitu komoditas Ubi Jalar (13,55), Kacang Kedelai (13,05), Kacang Hijau (12,59) dan Ubi Kayu (11,69).

Abstract

This study examines the economic impact of agricultural mechanization on smallholder rice and maize farmers in Curahwelut Village, East Java, Indonesia. Agricultural machinery (alsintan) offers a strategic solution to address labor shortages, rising production costs, and inefficiencies in farm operations. The research employs a quantitative case study approach involving ten purposively selected farmers, all of whom operate on rented land and utilize mechanized equipment at different production stages. Data were collected through structured interviews and analyzed using financial modeling, correlation, and regression techniques. Results show that mechanization enhances productivity, reduces physical labor, and contributes positively to farm profitability. All respondents achieved positive profits, with revenue and net cash flow directly correlated to investment in machinery. Break-even point (BEP), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Profitability Index (PI) analyses confirm the economic feasibility of mechanization, with all farmers exceeding BEP thresholds. Regression analysis demonstrates a strong positive relationship between total cost and revenue (R² = 0.749), indicating that greater input investment yields higher returns. However, structural challenges such as insecure land tenure and aging farmer demographics remain barriers to broader adoption. Findings highlight the need for supportive policies that expand access to credit, improve technology distribution, and promote gender and youth inclusion. Mechanization, when effectively managed, enhances financial sustainability and contributes to rural economic development. This research underscores the importance of tailored mechanization strategies to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Milk is one of the important food sources for the community. Therefore, studies on the development of dairy cow milk production businesses have been carried out quite a lot, both nationally and globally. This study aims to determine the global trend of dairy cow milk production efficiency studies conducted using the bibliometric analysis method. The data used are scientific publications indexed on Google Scholar during the period 2014 - 2024 using the help of Publish or Perish, Mendeley Reference Manager, and VOSviewer software. The results of the study showed that publications related to dairy cow milk production efficiency studies has a positive trend with a tendency for study areas that can be grouped into socio-economic, production, environmental, and technology. In addition, there is a shift in the grouping of keywords used, namely that recent research focuses more on the quantity and quality of milk influenced by the treatment and formulation of feed in dairy cattle. The most widely used efficiency analysis research methods are Stochastic Frontier Analysis, Data Envelopment Analysis, and Cobb-Douglass Production Function. The results of this study provide an overview of further research opportunities related to dairy cow milk production efficiency with methods according to the needs.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of family and social environments on the entrepreneurial intention of Agribusiness Management students. The research employs a quantitative approach, surveying 29 students from the second and fourth semesters. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data, focusing on two independent variables: the family environment and the social environment, and their impact on students' entrepreneurial aspirations. The results show that a supportive and stimulating environment within both family and social contexts significantly enhances students' motivation to engage in entrepreneurial ventures. Together, these two environments explain 75.4% of the variation in entrepreneurial interest, as indicated by an R square value of 0.754. Specifically, the family environment, which includes elements such as parental guidance, family relationships, home atmosphere, economic status, and cultural background, accounts for 38.25% of the variance in entrepreneurial interest. Furthermore, the social environment, which encompasses peer interactions, relationships with faculty, and the overall university setting, contributes 37.13% to the development of entrepreneurial intent. The study acknowledges the limitations of a small sample size, which restricts the generalizability of the findings, and recommends further research with a larger and more diverse population across multiple institutions.

Abstract

Background: Teaching Factory, TEFA, operations combine learning and real production routines, so workforce management becomes a critical control point for punctuality, documentation quality, and payroll grade reporting. Manual attendance practices commonly create slow recaps, transcription errors, and weak traceability, which can reduce efficiency and trigger disputes. Aims: This study evaluates the short run impact of fingerprint based workforce management digitalization on operational efficiency and accountability in four TEFA units within UPA Pertanian Terpadu at Politeknik Negeri Jember. Methods: A quasi experimental pretest posttest design was applied, comparing four baseline weeks before installation with eight post implementation weeks after stabilization. Four fingerprint devices were installed, synchronized via NTP, and configured for daily CSV export, with SOP governed overrides and role based access control. Indicators were computed from system logs and administrative records, including on time attendance rate, tardiness minutes, effective work hours, missing log rate, SOP override compliance, and weekly recap time. Unit level paired tests were used with two tailed alpha 0.05, complemented by descriptive distributions, reliability checks of a post period perception instrument, and qualitative triangulation. Result: Performance improved consistently after digitalization. On time attendance increased from 66.53 percent to 86.59 percent, tardiness decreased from 14.33 to 7.77 minutes, effective work hours rose from 6.44 to 7.23 hours, missing logs fell from 8.40 percent to 2.58 percent, SOP override compliance increased from 69.28 percent to 92.12 percent, and weekly recap time decreased from 92.50 to 29.46 minutes. Interview and observation evidence aligned with the quantitative pattern, indicating fewer corrections, faster start of shift routines, and more stable recaps. Conclusion: Fingerprint based workforce management digitalization produced substantial improvements in both operational efficiency and accountability in TEFA units by strengthening traceable time stamped records and reducing rework in recap workflows. The findings support institutionalization of log based monitoring and SOP governance, with future studies extending observation windows and linking workforce traceability to downstream TEFA output and quality performance.

Abstract

Suci Village, located in Panti District, Jember Regency, is one of the villages that manages a Waste Bank Unit (BSU). The village has the Larahan Makmur Waste Bank, which was established in January 2018. The establishment of BSU Larahan Makmur was partly driven by the fact that Suci Village is situated on the slopes of Mount Argopuro and is prone to natural disasters, particularly flooding. The main issue in waste management at BSU Larahan Makmur is that its activities are still focused on the management and utilization of inorganic waste, while household organic waste has not yet been utilized. Currently, a large portion of household organic waste in Suci Village is still disposed of into rivers The objectives of this community service activity are to improve the knowledge, skills, and participation of partners in utilizing household organic waste into compost. The activity was carried out through extension methods, which included: providing education on the utilization of household organic waste for compost production using the takakura method, drum composter technology, and ecoenzyme making; and practice and mentoring in compost production from household organic waste using the takakura method and drum composter technology, as well as ecoenzyme making together with the partners The results of this community service activity include: improved knowledge and skills of the partners in utilizing household organic waste for compost and ecoenzym; increased utilization of organic waste for compost production by the partners; and the handover of composter (3 units) and takakura baskets (8 baskets) to the partners.

Abstract

The high demand for cigarettes yearly produces tobacco waste in the form of unused tobacco leaf stalks. Tobacco leaf stalks have high burning power and sufficient calorific value to produce heat energy, so that tobacco leaf stalks can be used as a mixture of cigarettes and as a substitute for cloves. The purpose of this study is to utilize tobacco waste, especially tobacco leaf stalks, as a mixture of cigarettes to analyze consumer diversification of tobacco waste and to improve consumer preferences for Hand-Rolled Cigarettes (SKT) with a mixture of tobacco leaf stalks—this research as conducted in March-August 2024 using a quantitative method with a non-probability sampling sample data source. The data sources for this study are secondary data and primary data. The total population of respondents is 25 people. This research is based on consumer preferences for the attributes of Taste, Flavor, strength, smoke texture, and taste. The data analysis method employed was multiple linear regression using software and the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. The study revealed that tobacco waste affected taste, flavor, strength, smoke texture, and aftertaste. The results of the software analysis tool showed a significant joint influence of 0.423 on each attribute of consumer preferences. The attributes that have a significant partial effect are flavor and aftertaste attributes. Consumer preference assessment using QFD analysis can affect product quality attributes after taste, which need improvement to meet consumer preferences. Fulfillment of product quality attributes after taste that needs improvement are sweet and bitter attributes at the end.

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation in agribusiness increasingly adopts geospatial and IoT-based monitoring technologies, yet most applications emphasize asset tracking or simulation-based modeling rather than empirically validated workforce performance evaluation. Existing analytical studies often rely on structural influence modeling without integrating real-time labor data and causal inference methods. This gap is particularly visible in vocational agribusiness systems, where digital governance initiatives remain underexplored from a rigorous quantitative perspective. Aims: This study develops and empirically validates a geofencing-based, data-driven workforce analytics framework using causal modeling to assess operational efficiency and governance outcomes in vocational agribusiness production units. Method: A quasi-experimental stepped-wedge design was implemented across four Teaching Factory units over 12 weeks. Real-time geospatial attendance logs were integrated with production and payroll data to construct a worker-level panel dataset. Treatment effects were estimated using a Difference-in-Differences model with worker and time fixed effects. Robustness checks included parallel trend diagnostics, placebo tests, and alternative specifications. Results: Digital workforce monitoring significantly improved performance. Labor productivity increased by 13.4%, cost-to-serve decreased by 9.7%, payroll processing time declined by 41%, and lateness was reduced by 48%. The Accountability Index improved by 0.88 standard deviations. Robustness analyses confirmed the stability of these effects. Conclusion: Geofencing-based digital monitoring functions as an operational optimization mechanism rather than merely a compliance tool. The proposed framework provides scalable, data-driven evidence for improving workforce governance in labor-intensive agribusiness systems.

Abstract

Kegiatan Project Based Learning (PBL) pada Program Studi Manajemen Agribisnis Kampus 2 Bondowoso memiliki tingkat mobilitas yang tinggi sehingga menimbulkan kendala dalam pencatatan kehadiran dan pelaporan aktivitas mahasiswa. Proses absensi yang masih dilakukan secara manual dinilai kurang efektif dan tidak mampu mendukung kebutuhan monitoring kegiatan secara real time. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi absensi berbasis web mobile sebagai solusi pencatatan kehadiran dan aktivitas PBL. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan yang terdiri dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 8-10 April 2026 dengan total peserta sebanyak 27 mahasiswa. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi, demonstrasi, serta praktik langsung oleh peserta. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan Google Form. Instrumen evaluasi menggunakan skala Likert 1–5, dengan kategori penilaian mulai dari sangat tidak setuju hingga sangat setuju. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mampu menggunakan aplikasi secara mandiri dengan tingkat pemahaman skor 5 lebih dari 50%, meskipun masih terdapat beberapa kendala teknis yang dapat diatasi melalui pendampingan lanjutan. Selain itu, penggunaan aplikasi ini memberikan kemudahan dalam proses pencatatan kehadiran dan pemantauan aktivitas mahasiswa secara lebih terstruktur dan efisien. Dengan demikian, implementasi aplikasi absensi berbasis web mobile dapat mendukung efektivitas kegiatan PBL serta meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan data kehadiran mahasiswa.

Abstract

Background: The growing integration of digital technologies into agribusiness has reshaped organizational practices, yet labor management in many vocational Teaching Factory (TEFA) units continues to rely on paper-based procedures. Such practices frequently lead to attendance discrepancies, delays in payroll administration, and limited supervisory control. In response to these challenges, this study developed a digital labor-management system intended to strengthen operational efficiency and accountability in vocational agribusiness settings.. Methods: Adopting a research and development approach grounded in the ADDIE framework, the study combined system development with a stepped-wedge quasi-experimental evaluation. The research was conducted over twelve weeks in four TEFA units at Politeknik Negeri Jember and involved 25 casual workers and eight supervisors. The proposed platform integrated geolocation, geofencing, real-time productivity logging, and managerial dashboards. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and difference-in-differences models with fixed effects, while usability and technological readiness were assessed through the System Usability Scale (SUS) and Technology Readiness Level (TRL). Findings: The implementation of the system increased labor productivity by 13.4%, reduced cost-to-serve by 9.7%, shortened payroll-processing time by 41%, and lowered worker lateness by 48%. In addition, the accountability index improved by 0.88 standard deviations, indicating substantial gains in transparency and administrative performance. Conclusion: The findings suggest that digital labor management can enhance both efficiency and accountability, providing a practical foundation for the modernization of workforce administration in vocational agribusiness. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study offers an integrated framework that combines geolocation-based technology, the ADDIE model, quasi-experimental evaluation, and standardized usability and technology-readiness assessments within the context of vocational agribusiness labor management.
