Abstract

This study aims to describe the listening ability of students of the 2024/2025 batch in interviewing resource persons. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research design. The subject in this study is a student of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Hatta University, Class of 2024/2025, with the object of the research being one resource person who is considered capable of providing the information needed by the interviewer. In listening skills. The research design used is a qualitative descriptive design. Data were collected by interview methods and descriptive analysis, using recordings. The data collection process was carried out by interviewing resource persons with a duration of 10-15 minutes. The results of the interviews were written by each person based on their understanding of the information conveyed by the speakers. Data analysis is carried out after the data is collected based on qualitative descriptive research. Data was collected in 3 groups, including the education sector, social media and learning media. Each group prepared 5 questions. The results of the study showed that the ability of students to open the interview was good, asking the question material was very good, and closing the interview was also good. The ability of students to write interview results with a very good category of 4 people (33.33), a good category of 5 people (41.67) and a medium category of 3 people (25%). Thus, it can be concluded that the ability to listen to the interrogation of students for the 2024/2025 Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Hatta University is good.

Abstract

Language serves as a symbolic system used by humans to communicate, express thoughts and emotions, and convey information. In the era of digital technology, social media has become an interactive space that fosters the emergence and development of new forms of language, one of which is slang. This study aims to describe the forms, functions, and meanings of slang variations found in the comment sections of YouTube channels owned by @DeddyCorbuzier and @DennySumargo. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using documentation and observation techniques to collect user comments from January 1 to March 31, 2025. The findings reveal that the forms of slang identified include acronyms, abbreviations, phonetic spellings, borrowings from foreign languages, and the creation of new lexical items. The primary functions of slang use involve emotional expression, social critique, group identity markers, and communicative efficiency. Semantically, slang often undergoes symbolic shifts or takes on metaphorical meanings, depending on the user's social context. Abstract

    ASEAN regional economic integration emphasizes the importance of regulatory harmonization across various sectors, including cooperatives. This study aims to examine the suitability and challenges of harmonizing cooperative regulations across ASEAN countries through a legal review of Malaysia's cooperative regulatory system. As a country with a developed cooperative legal framework, Malaysia offers best practices in national cooperative management that can be reflected in strengthening the regional cooperative legal framework. This research method uses a normative qualitative approach with a comparative legal analysis of cooperative legislation in Malaysia and several other ASEAN countries. The study results indicate that despite differences in the legal and institutional structures of cooperatives across ASEAN countries, there is potential room for harmonization through shared fundamental principles, such as economic democracy, member involvement, and business sustainability. These findings support the need for cross-border policy dialogue to formulate ASEAN cooperative regulatory standards that are adaptive, inclusive, and appropriate to local characteristics. Harmonization of cooperative regulations across the ASEAN region is considered strategic in promoting economic integration based on community participation and social justice.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji bagaimana naskah drama Tempat Pelepasan Suara karya Syafril merepresentasikan persoalan sosial dan ideologis melalui bahasa. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) model Norman Fairclough, penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa naskah tersebut tidak hanya menyajikan konflik emosional individu, tetapi juga menyingkap praktik kekuasaan yang tersembunyi di balik retorika demokrasi. Melalui tiga dimensi analisis—tekstual, praktik diskursif, dan praktik sosial—ditemukan bahwa suara individu dikomodifikasi layaknya produk iklan, ekspresi emosional dibatasi oleh birokrasi, relasi kuasa tidak seimbang, ruang dilekatkan pada simbol ideologis, dan kampanye politik diparodikan sebagai kritik sosial. Dengan demikian, naskah ini berfungsi sebagai kritik terhadap demokrasi prosedural yang sarat manipulasi dan kontrol wacana.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) Gaya Bahasa Sindiran dengan Humor dan Non-Humor pada Konten YouTube, (2) Makna gaya bahasa sindiran pada  kanal Youtube Deddy Corbuzier dan Rocky Gerung Official. Teori dalam penelitian ini, yakni Gaya bahasa (Keraf 2005) dan (Tarigan 2021), gaya bahasa sindiran (Tarigan 2021) dan (Keraf 2005). Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif metode deskriptif. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah Kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier. Data penelitian ini berupa kutipan kata-kata yang dapat dirumuskan sebagai gaya bahasa sindiran berdasarkan tuturan pada kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier dan Rocky Gerung Official. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) menonton vidio dalam kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier dan Rocky Gerung Official, (2) mendeskripsikan data, dan (3) mencatat data yang akan menjadi bahan penelitian ke dalam tabel. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara: (1) mengelompokan data ke dalam tabel analisis, (2) menentukann jenis gaya bahasa sindiran yang dituturkan, (3) menjelaskan makna gaya bahasa sindiran yang diungkapkan (4) menjabarkan hasil analisis, dan (5) menginterpretasikan hasil analisis dengan melihat kecendrungan pemakaian gaya bahasa, dan (6) menyimpulkan hasil analisis data secara keseluruhan. Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan, diperoleh hasil penelitian didapatkan penutur menggunaan gaya bahasa sindiran.  Gaya bahasa sindiran yang ditemukan yakni ironi, sinisme, sarkasme, dan satire. Gaya bahasa sindiran dalam kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier dan Rocky Gerung Official menjadi media  dalam menyapaikan keresahan dan kritikan namun disampaikan dengan cara lucu oleh komedian sebagai penutur dalam kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier dan non-komedian pada kanal YouTube Rocky Gerung Official sehingga sindiran dan keresahan tersampaikan dengan baik tetapi tidak menyakiti hati orang yang yang disindir tersebut. Sindiran disampaikan dengan dua cara yang berbeda yaitu melalui humor dan secara serius.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Integrative Learning Design Framework (ILDF) dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi. ILDF dipilih karena berorientasi pada integrasi pengalaman belajar yang kolaboratif, reflektif, dan kontekstual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP. Data diperoleh melalui tes menulis teks deskripsi dan observasi proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ILDF mampu meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi, terutama dari aspek kelengkapan isi, struktur teks, serta ketepatan penggunaan bahasa deskriptif. Dengan demikian, ILDF dapat dijadikan alternatif model pembelajaran inovatif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.

Abstract

This article explores the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in teaching junior high school students the skill of writing observation reports. Given the importance of writing skills and the challenges students face in terms of motivation, PBL is proposed as an effective solution for improving motivation and writing skills. This method emphasizes student engagement by presenting problems that are relevant to their lives, which can increase their motivation to learn. A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design was conducted, involving two classes at SMPN 2 Sijunjung, to measure the impact of PBL on motivation and writing skills. The results showed that the implementation of PBL successfully increased student motivation, with 80% claiming to be more motivated after the program, and writing quality improved from an average score of 65 to 80. In addition, social interaction among students also increased, supporting collaboration in the learning process. Despite challenges in implementation, the results of this study demonstrate that PBL is a promising approach to improving motivation and writing skills in the classroom. Further research is needed to clarify the long-term impact of PBL in other learning contexts.

Abstract

Effective sentences—characterized by unity, coherence, conciseness, clarity, and emphasis—are essential in scholarly writing. However, students often struggle to apply these principles consistently. This study investigates the reasoning patterns and sentence construction errors in students' scholarly articles in Padang City. This descriptive qualitative study analyzed final assignments written for a sociolinguistics course. Data were collected through an observation technique that involved systematically reading each article, identifying and marking errors in sentence effectiveness, and categorizing them based on predetermined criteria. The data were validated using theoretical triangulation, referencing Putrayasa’s effective sentence framework. Data analysis employed content analysis and an interactive model. The findings reveal that while students commonly employed inductive and deductive reasoning patterns, their use was often flawed due to inadequate empirical support and weak analytical depth. Additionally, errors related to unity, conciseness, emphasis, and variety were prevalent, diminishing the clarity and professionalism of the writing. The study indicates a gap between students’ theoretical understanding of sentence construction and their practical application. Their ineffective use of reasoning patterns and sentence structures hinders the development of coherent academic arguments. These findings underscore the need for targeted training to improve students’ reasoning and writing skills. Structured guidance and practice can enhance their ability to produce clear, professional, and impactful scholarly articles.

Abstract

Elementary school students' interest in reading and appreciation of literary works remains low. Literature learning is considered abstract, boring, and unrelated to children's daily lives. However, literature plays a crucial role in shaping character, broadening linguistic horizons, and fostering empathy and creativity. As students live in a digital age, learning approaches need to be tailored to the characteristics of a generation accustomed to interactive and visual media. Therefore, learning strategies are needed that connect literary values to the real world and technology relevant to students' daily lives. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included classroom observation, interviews, and documentation, involving elementary school teachers and students as research subjects. The focus of observations was on the literature learning process, which integrates digital media and a contextual approach. The results showed that integrating digital media and a contextual approach in literature learning increased students' interest in reading, increased their active involvement in class discussions, and increased their understanding of literary texts such as poetry, fables, and folktales. Teachers also found it helpful in delivering material because digital media can explain literary content visually and engagingly. The integration of digital media with a contextual approach has proven effective in improving elementary school students' literacy. This strategy can be used as an innovative learning alternative to build literary appreciation and character in students from an early age.
