Abstract

Digital transformation (DT) is essential for enhancing competitiveness, ef- ficiency, and innovation in the digital era. However, Small and Medium En- terprises (SMEs) in Indonesia face significant barriers to adopting digital tech- nologies due to limited resources, lack of digital skills, and environmental con- straints. This study aims to assess the organizational readiness and identifybarriers to DT adoption among Indonesian SMEs using the Technology Organization Environment (TOE) framework. A survey of 210 SMEs from various sectors was conducted to evaluate their readiness levels and perceived barriers. The results indicate that while SMEs show moderate technological readiness, organizational readiness remains low, primarily due to inadequate human re- source competencies, resistance to change, and limited financial capacity. Addi- tionally, environmental factors such as regulatory uncertainty and weak institu- tional support further impede progress. This study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the specific challenges faced by SMEs in emerging economies, particularly Indonesia. Based on the findings, the study offers prac- tical recommendations for policymakers, industry associations, and SME own- ers to enhance organizational readiness and mitigate barriers, accelerating the digital transformation process for SMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Auditing is a process to verify financial statements that require a high degree of professional skepticism from auditors. However, auditors individually have cognitive limitation in processing information. Overall assessment potentially leads to halo effect that will influence auditors’ decision making. On the other hand, the sequence and type of information presentation affect primacy and recency effect. Our experimental research design manipulated the information about client (convincing or unconvincing), type of information presentation (step by step and end of sequence), sequence of presentation (positive-negative, negative-positive) and length of information (long and short). The subjects of experiment were students who had taken auditing courses. The results shows that (1) there was higher halo bias when individuals had convincing clients than unconvincing clients, (2) there was halo and primacy effects when individuals had convincing clients and information was presented simultaneously and sequentially, (3) there was halo and primacy effects when individuals had convincing clients and information was presented both with positive-negative and negative-positive sequences and both with short and long series.

Abstract

Comprehensive assessment potentially leads to halo effect that will affect accuracy of auditors’ decision-making process. Biased initial audit decision will potentially influence final audit decision. It is there-fore necessary to mitigate halo effect that is the consequence of auditors’ good impression on clients’ initial condition. This re-search aims to empirically show that halo effect can be mitigated by explanatory feedback and Group Support System (GSS). The researchers experimentally mani-pulate explanatory feedback and GSS using online web-site. The subjects are stu-dents who have already taken auditing courses. The results show that: 1) explanato-ry feedback can mitigate halo effect so that audit decision will be more accurate 2) GSS can also mitigate halo effect 3) explanatory feedback and GSS are the best me-thods to mitigate halo effect.

Abstract

The bus public transportation system has low reliability and ability to predict the number of passengers. The accuracy of predicting the number of passengers by public transport bus operators is still weak, which results in failure to implement solutions by operators. A prediction model with LSTM based on deep learning is proposed to predict passengers for 4 bus public transportation operators (Go Bus, New Zealand Bus, Pavlovich, and Ritchies) which are evaluated by MSLE, MAPE, and SMAPE with variations in epoch, batch size, and neurons. The dataset is a CSV performance report on Auckland Transport (AT) New Zealand metro patronage buses (01/01/2019-07/31/2023). The best prediction model was obtained from the lowest evaluation value and relatively fast time at variations of epoch 60, batch size 16, and neurons 32. The prediction results on training and testing data improved with the suitability of the model tuning. The proposed prediction model performs predictions 12 months later for 4 predictions simultaneously with predicted fluctuations occurring simultaneously. Strong negative correlation on New Zealand Bus-Pavlovich, strong positive correlation on Go Bus with Ritchies and Pavlovich. Predictions that are less closely related and dependent are New Zealand Bus against Go Bus, Pavlovich, and Ritchies. The proposed prediction modeling can be used as a basis for creating operator policies and strategies to deal with passenger fluctuations and for the development of new prediction models.
