Abstract

Anthropocentrism is one of the perspectives applied in figuring out human relations with the environment. The environmental crisis happening in most areas of the world lately is allegedly the impact of anthropocentrism, which views humans as the center of the universe, and only humans have the right to utilize and make use of nature for their interests and needs. One of the environmental crises which hit the world today is deforestation. The description of deforestation and its various consequences can be looked through not only from the news in mass media or research reports, but also from Indonesian and Malaysian novels. This study aims at examining the issue of deforestation described in Indonesian and Malaysian novels. The method applied is a comparative qualitative descriptive with an ecocritical perspective. As data sources, two Indonesian novels and two Malaysian novels were selected, namely Api Awan Asap (Rampan) and Tanah Tabu (Thayf) as the samples of Indonesian novels; Penunggu Rimba: Tombiruo (Mursid) and Anak Belantara (Abdullah) as the samples of Malaysian novels. From an eco-critical perspective, the results of the study show that in the four novels studied, it appears that there is an issue of deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia which has resulted in various other environmental problems. The four analyzed novels reveal how local wisdom can prevent and fight deforestation which occurs in the forests of Kalimantan and Papua. Added to this, through the novels, Indonesian and Malaysian writers both present ecocentrism perspectives to fight anthropocentrism which causes deforestation. Some different views are expressed by Indonesian and Malaysian writers in dealing with deforestation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi hutan dalam novel Anak Penyamun dalam Rimba karya Mochtar Lubis dengan pendekatan ekokritik. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kutipan-kutipan teks yang mengandung deskripsi hutan, interaksi manusia dengan alam, dan elemen-elemen ekokritik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis dokumen terhadap keseluruhan isi novel dengan cara membaca dan menelaah teks secara mendalam. Pembacaan dilakukan secara berulang untuk mengidentifikasi secara cermat bentuk-bentuk hubungan manusia dengan alam, deskripsi lingkungan, dan nilai-nilai ekologis dalam cerita. Seluruh kutipan yang relevan diberikan kode sehingga membentuk kategori awal analisis. Analisis data mengikuti model interaktif yang meliputi tahap pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 1) konsep hutan rimba yang dibagi menjadi tiga, yakni a) hutan rimba yang lebat dan susah terjangkau oleh manusia, b) hutan sebagai tempat yang penuh keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang memberikan nilai estetika kepada manusia, dan c) hutan sebagai tempat yang penuh dengan kesejukan dan keindahan untuk merenung, bermeditasi, dan mencari makna hidup, 2) Penelitian ini menemukan pergeseran makna perhutanan sosial, yakni a) hutan sebagai sarang penyamun yang menunjukkan persepsi manusia terhadap hutan dapat berubah seiring dengan waktu dan konteks sosial, dan b) hutan sebagai tempat penambangan ilegal yang menunjukkan manusia dapat merusak lingkungan demi kepentingan pribadi.

Abstract

Hikayat Patani is a literary work born from the Patani community that describes its social and historical conditions. This qualitative study examines social and historical transposition in the Hikayat Patani using Julia Kristeva's intertextual approach. The research data source is Hikayat Patani, with data collected through text reading and mapping, systematic recording, and contextual analysis. Data analysis includes suprasegmental and intertextual techniques. The study reveals the following social transpositions: 1) Patani port center; 2) Patani trade center; 3) Patani community is prosperous and prosperous; 4) development of Sungai Tambangan; and 5) treasurer in the government. Historical transpositions include: 1) Patani kingdom of the Islamic sultanate; 2) names of the sultans of Patani; 3) Patani led by a female king; 4) female monarch names; and 5) Patani kingdom maritime kingdom. The research reinforces Kristeva's intertextual theory in Malay literature analysis and underscores the role of Hikayat Patani as a source of history, culture, and Islamization. These findings support the development of local culture-based teaching materials and the strengthening of Patani Malay identity.

Abstract

The problem Indonesian language teachers face in general is the change in the implementation of PBM (Teaching and Learning Process) from the Kurikulum 2013 to the Kurikulum Merdeka, which requires teachers' skills to facilitate students in achieving learning goals. Mastery of these skills is very influential in terms of effectiveness in the implementation of PBM and in achieving results in accordance with the set goals. Therefore, the teachers hope to get help or guidance from the university related to class action research. This service, through workshops, aims to increase teachers' understanding in finding learning problems they face in their respective classes, finding steps to improve learning, both theoretically and practically, and designing learning improvements in the form of class action research proposals. The workshop was conducted online and offline by providing materials and training on classroom actions that can help improve the teaching and learning process. The results of the workshop showed that the teachers' understanding of classroom action research increased after attending the workshop, thus supporting the teaching and learning process effectively. It can be concluded that this workshop runs effectively because it can meet the target of the activity.   Abstrak Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para guru Bahasa indonesia secara umum adalah tentang perubahan pelaksanaan proses belajar mengajar dari penerapan Kurikulum 2013 menjadi Kurikulum Merdeka yang menuntut keterampilan guru dalam hal memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penguasaan keterampilan tersebut sangat berpengaruh baik dari segi keefektifan dalam pelaksanaan PBM maupun dalam hal pencapaian hasil sesuai dengan tujuan yang ditetapkan. Oleh karena itu, para guru berharap supaya mendapatkan bantuan atau bimbingan dari pihak perguruan tinggi terkait penelitian tindakan kelas. Pengabdian ini melalui workshop bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman para guru dalam menemukan permasalahan pembelajaran yang mereka hadapi di kelas masing-masing, menemukan langkah perbaikan pembelajaran, baik secara teoretis maupun praktis, serta merancang perbaikan pembelajaran dalam bentuk proposal penelitian tindakan kelas. Workshop dilaksanakan secara daring dan luring dengan memberikan materi serta pelatihan menganai tindakan kelas yang dapat membantu meningkatkan proses belajar mengajar. Hasil workshop menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman para guru mengenai penelitian tindakan kelas meningkat setelah mengikuti workshop sehingga mendukung kegiatan proses belajar mengajar secara efektif. Dapat disimpulkan, workshop ini berjalan secara efektif sebab dapat memenuhi target kegiatan. Kata Kunci: kompetensi; Kurikulum Merdeka; penelitian tindakan kelas; proses belajar mengajar

Abstract

Factual writing research has been widely conducted. However, factual writing that develops critical thinking skills as an effort to prepare a generation of scholars still needs to be studied. This study aims to describe factual writing learning in higher education. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection techniques use document studies and questionnaires. The research instrument uses analysis guidelines and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study show that the dominant one-way learning model has not developed high-level thinking skills, discovery, critical, logical, and analytical thinking. The teaching materials are still limited to books that have not been integrated with relevant research results. Learning evaluations do not include indicators, scores, and assessment rubrics in detail so that authentic assessments have not been achieved. The perceptions of lecturers and students are in line that factual texts of the exposition, explanation, and argumentation types are able to develop critical, analytical, creative, and innovative thinking. Thus, the results of this exploratory study can be used to improve factual writing learning to prepare a generation of scholars. Abstrak Penelitian menulis faktual telah banyak dilakukan. Akan tetapi, menulis faktual yang mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis sebagai upaya menyiapkan generasi cendekiawan masih perlu dilakukan kajian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran menulis faktual di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi dokumen dan angket. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan pedoman analisis dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model pembelajaran dominan satu arah, belum mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, penemuan, berpikir kritis, logis, dan analitis. Adapun bahan ajar masih terbatas pada buku yang belum terintegrasi dengan hasil penelitian yang relevan. Evaluasi pembelajaran belum memuat indikator, skor, dan rubrik penilaian secara rinci sehingga penilaian autentik belum tercapai. Persepsi dosen dan mahasiswa selaras bahwa teks faktual jenis eksposisi, eksplanasi, dan argumentasi mampu mengembangkan berpikir kritis, analitis, kreatif, dan inovatif. Dengan demikian, hasil studi eksplorasi ini dapat digunakan sebagai perbaikan pembelajaran menulis faktual untuk menyiapkan generasi cendekiawan.
