Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of G-HRM on employee performance by considering the mediating function of employee engagement and organizational commitment. This study used quantitative methods and collected data through a survey among 70 staff members from 10 Fitness Plus outlets in Bali. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) data analysis was used to determine the relationship between variables and the possible mediating role. The results revealed that, both directly and through higher employee engagement, G-HRM significantly improves employee performance. The relationship between G-HRM and employee performance is largely mediated by employee engagement. In contrast, organizational dedication does not show a significant mediating effect on this relationship. In addition, this study also found that G-HRM can improve employee performance, the effect is most significant if accompanied by increased employee emotional involvement in their work.

Abstract

Work engagement for female employees in the hotel industry is a critical issue due to the complexity of balancing demanding work schedules with personal life responsibilities. Achieving work-life balance is essential for maintaining job satisfaction and sustaining high levels of engagement. This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance and self-efficacy on work engagement, with job satisfaction as a mediating factor, among female employees in the hospitality sector. This study employed a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional survey design. The population consisted of female employees working at Four-Star Hotels in Bali. A purposive sampling technique was applied to select 106 respondents who met the criteria. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that while work-life balance does not directly influence work engagement, it positively affects job satisfaction. Self-efficacy has a positive impact on both job satisfaction and work engagement. Furthermore, job satisfaction acts as a significant mediator strengthening the relationship between work-life balance, self-efficacy, and work engagement. These results suggest that hotel management should implement policies that promote work-life balance to enhance job satisfaction and foster greater work engagement among female employees.

Abstract

The essence of leadership in any organization is to carefully design work structures and systems. Leadership not only guides the company's vision and goals, but also plays an important role in shaping corporate culture, motivating employees, and influencing overall morale. In fact, the phenomenon of research results in the field still shows contradictions and gaps in research results between leadership, work motivation and morale. To overcome these problems, the authors conducted quantitative research using path analysis techniques and SmartPLS software version 4.0.8.8 and used purposive sampling to select samples. The results showed that leadership has a positive effect on work motivation, as well as leadership has a positive effect on morale. Furthermore, work motivation has no effect on work enthusiasm and has no mediating role on leadership with work enthusiasm. Researchers recognize the limitations in this study, which are limited to leadership, work motivation and morale in one company only. For future research, it is recommended to consider adding additional variables or modifying the research model through a moderation approach. In addition, it is recommended to conduct research involving more than one sector to increase the generalizability of the findings.
