Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and analyzes the perceptions of teachers and students regarding the use of interactive digital media (Canva and Wordwall) in Arabic Language Learning (ALL) for Grade VII students at MTsN 2 Semarang. This research employed an explanatory field research design using mixed methods to explore subjective experiences in a natural context without manipulation. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 295 students (using a five-point Likert scale), semi-structured interviews with Arabic teachers, and participatory observation. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively with percentages, while qualitative data utilized the Miles & Huberman model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing). The findings reveal that the integration of Canva and Wordwall significantly enhances student engagement and active participation in Arabic language learning. Teachers reported that these media function as effective instructional tools, particularly in strengthening receptive language skills such as reading (Qirā’ah), vocabulary acquisition, and understanding sentence structures through visual and interactive learning activities. Wordwall’s gamification features also promote student motivation and facilitate vocabulary and grammar practice. However, the impact of these digital media on productive language skills, such as speaking (Kalām) and writing (Kitābah), remains relatively limited due to their predominant use in reading and comprehension-based activities. Overall, students demonstrated highly positive perceptions, with 64% expressing agreement or strong agreement that interactive digital media increased learning interest, enhanced self-efficacy, and reduced learning anxiety (affective filter). This study concludes that interactive digital media play a crucial role in creating an engaging and emotionally supportive learning environment and are particularly effective in improving receptive language skills, especially reading comprehension and vocabulary acquisition.

Abstract

This research aims to critically analyze the synchronization process between Islamic theological values and local wisdom in the Nyadran (Sea Almsgiving) tradition on Sendang Sikucing Beach, Kendal Regency. The main problem studied is the tension between the formal-normative theological perspective which is concerned about shirk and the cultural practices of fishing communities which view this ritual as an expression of gratitude. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Data was collected through participatory observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with religious leaders, traditional leaders and fishing communities. Data analysis was carried out through reduction stages, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Nyadran tradition at Sendang Sikucing Beach is a manifestation of intelligent acculturation that uses the "Tut Wuri Hangiseni" preaching strategy, similar to the Walisongo preaching. Synchronization occurs through "Aqidah Filter" and reinterpretation of intentions, where the meaning of offerings is changed from spiritual offerings to symbols of alms and gratitude to Allah SWT. From the perspective of Islamic education, this tradition contains three main pillars: monotheism education through ritual purification, worship education through philanthropy (orphan compensation and kenduri), and ecological moral education (ethics of protecting the sea). Meanwhile, from a Javanese cultural perspective, Nyadran strengthens the philosophy of Memayu Hayuning Bawana and communal harmony. This research concludes that Nyadran in Sendang Sikucing is not a deviant form of syncretism, but rather a "Middle Way" that integrates Islamic and Javanese identities, as well as being a character laboratory for moderate society.

Abstract

Islamic education in the era of globalization faces significant challenges in preserving Islamic values while responding to rapid social, cultural, and technological changes. One strategic approach to addressing these challenges is the development of a transformative Islamic education model based on local wisdom that integrates religious teachings with the cultural values of society. This study aims to analyze and formulate a transformative Islamic education model grounded in local wisdom as a means of strengthening character development, cultural identity, and social awareness among learners. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from books, scholarly journals, and relevant studies on Islamic education, transformative education, and local wisdom. The data were analyzed through content analysis to identify key concepts and construct an integrative educational model. The findings reveal that transformative Islamic education based on local wisdom can be developed through the integration of Islamic values, including tawhid (monotheism), morality, and humanity, with local cultural values such as mutual cooperation, deliberation, tolerance, and social responsibility. The proposed model encompasses philosophical foundations, curriculum development, learning processes, character formation, and community involvement in education. The implementation of this model contributes to strengthening Islamic identity, preserving local culture, enhancing critical consciousness, and fostering learners who are religious, adaptive, and committed to constructive social transformation. Therefore, transformative Islamic education based on local wisdom can serve as a strategic alternative for developing contextual and sustainable Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The high urgency of mastering Arabic, especially mufrodat, in Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School encourages systematic efforts in the learning process. The Tikror method, with an emphasis on intensive repetition, is believed to be a key strategy to strengthen the memorization and application of mufrodat in the daily interactions of the students. This study aims to evaluate the vocabulary learning program through the tikror method at Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan Semarang. Vocabulary learning is a key component in Arabic language instruction, designed to enrich students' vocabulary and improve their understanding of the language. The tikror method, which focuses on word repetition, is expected to help students effectively memorize and comprehend vocabulary. This research employs a qualitative approach, with the subjects being teachers and students at Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan Semarang. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using Miles and Huberman's model with data collection, data reduction, and conclusions. The findings show that the application of the tikror method is effective in improving students' ability to memorize and understand vocabulary. Repeating words during lessons helps students better retain the vocabulary taught. However, some challenges were found, such as a lack of variation in repetition techniques and limited time for optimal repetition. Despite these challenges, the tikror method has a positive effect on students' motivation to learn Arabic. Therefore, it is recommended that the tikror method be improved and combined with other teaching methods to enhance the effectiveness of vocabulary learning at this pesantren.
