Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the achievement and improvement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of junior high school students who get the experiential learning model is better than those who get conventional learning and to find out which indicators of critical thinking abilities that junior high school students find difficult. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research type. The design in this research was the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used in this research is a set of tests to describe the mathematical critical thinking ability with a system of two-variable linear equations. The analysis used in this research using the t test, with a one-party hypothesis. Post-test data is used to see the achievement of mathematical critical thinking abilities and N-gain data to see the improvement. The conclusion in this research is the achievement and improvement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive experiential learning is better than the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive conventional learning. There is aspect that students find difficult, namely the advanced clarification aspect.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the application of the discovery learning model assisted by edpuzzle on the mathematical understanding ability of class VII students in terms of achievement, improvement, and completeness of learning objectives. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with two classes as samples, namely the experimental class and the control class. The technique used to collect data is the mathematical understanding ability question instrument. Data processing is analyzed using the Microsoft Excel application and SPSS 22 software. The results of the study explain that the achievement, improvement and completeness of the achievement of learning objectives for mathematical understanding abilities of class VII junior high school students with the discovery learning model assisted by edpuzzle are better than those using conventional learning.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is one of the essential mathematical abilities that students must master well. This research aims to analyze the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students on two variables linear equations system material. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 69 Bandung involving grade eighth students as research subjects. The samples taken were 21 students. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through documentation of test instruments in the form of mathematical reasoning ability tests. The analysis results show that the percentage of student errors varies for each indicator of reasoning ability. In detail, the first and second indicators show a very low error percentage, namely 11% and 27%. However, in the third, fourth, and fifth indicators, the percentage of errors increased significantly, by 67%, 69%, and 56% respectively, which is categorized as moderate and low. The sixth indicator shows the highest percentage of errors, which is 89%, which is in the high category. Overall, the average percentage of student errors is 53.17%, which can generally be categorized as very low. These findings indicate a variation in students' mathematical reasoning abilities in two variables linear equations system material. In addition, this study is also expected to contribute to identifying the types of errors commonly made by students and their implications for improving the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh bahan ajar matematika berbasis PMRI diterapkan di Bandung Raya. Penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, yang didesain untuk mengukur kualitas bahan ajar berbasis PMRI yang dibuat dan dilaksanakan guru selama ini. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru di Jawa Barat yang telah menerapkan PMRI di sekolahnya masing-masing. Terdapat tiga sekolah yang menjadi subyek penelitian, yaitu MIN I Bandung, SDPN Sabang dan SMPN 12 Bandung sedangkan sampelnya adalah guru Matematika di sekolah-sekolah tersebut yang menerapkan PMRI dalam pembelajarannya.Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data kuesioner guru tentang penerapan PMRI. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar matematika berbasis PMRI telah diterapkan di MIN 1 Bandung, SDPN Sabang dan SMPN 12 Bandung tetapi pelaksananya hanya guru-guru tertentu. Di MIN 1 Bandung terdapat 3 guru yang menerapkan PMRI, di SDPN Sabang terdapat 2 orang guru yang menerapkan PMRI dan di SMPN 12 Bandung juga terdapat 2 orang guru matematika yang menerapkan PMRI. Namun dari keseluruhan, diketahui bahwa hampir 3 tahun terakhir sudah jarang diterapkan serta jarang ada kegiatan-kegiatan PMRI; Kata Kunci: Bahan Ajar, PMRI.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ketercapaian setiap indikator untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa MTs pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskripsi kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu MTs di Kabupaten Bandung Barat sebanyak 22 siswa. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal kemampuan pemahaman matematik dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman siswa tergolong rendah yaitu 49% pada indikator pemahaman mekanikal, tergolong sedang yaitu 70% pada pemahaman induktif, sangat rendah yaitu 9% pada pemahaman rasional.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis dan habits of mind siswa SMP pada materi segiempat dan segitiga. Metode penelitian mengunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP kota Cimahi pada kelas VII semester genap tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP kota Cimahi pada materi materi segiempat dan segitiga. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian digunakan instrumen berupa tes soal uraian dan angket habits of mind. Hasil penelitian didapat kesimpulan: tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam penyelesaian masih rendah, kesulitan siswa pada umumnya belum memahami soal dan pemahaman konsep masih rendah dan siswa belum terbiasa berpikir dalam belajar. ABSTRACT: This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical reasoning and habits of mind of junior high school students in rectangular and triangular material. This research method using qualitative descriptive method. The place of research is conducted in one of junior high school Cimahi in class VII even semester of academic year 2017-2018. The population of this study is the students of class VII in one of junior high school Cimahi on material material quadrilateral and triangle. The subjects of the study were students of class VII. To obtain the research data used the instrument in the form of test description and questionnaire habits of mind. The results of the research concluded: the level of students' mathematical reasoning ability in the settlement is still low, students' difficulties in general have not understood the problem and understanding the concept is still low, students are not used to thinking in learning.
