Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of utilizing instructional media in enhancing students' learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlak subjects at MTs Al-Azhar Medan. The research employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the use of instructional media, such as audio-visual media, teaching aids, and digital platforms, significantly enhances students' interest and active participation in the learning process. These media facilitate easier understanding of the material, make learning more engaging, and create an environment that fosters student involvement. In conclusion, the implementation of innovative instructional media plays a crucial role in increasing students' learning motivation, particularly in Aqidah Akhlak subjects. This study recommends that teachers continue to develop and creatively utilize instructional media to support more effective and enjoyable educational processes

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the leadership strategies of school principals in improving teacher professionalism at Al-Yasiriya Brothers Educational Foundation. Using a descriptive qualitative research method with pedagogical and sociological approaches, this study involves school principals, teachers, and students as primary data sources. Data collection is conducted through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary studies. Data analysis employs Miles and Huberman techniques, which include three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation as a data validation method. The results reveal that school principals implement several key strategies to improve teacher professionalism. First, teacher competency development is carried out through ongoing professional training programs and workshops. Second, the creation of a collaborative working environment that fosters innovative learning. Third, the implementation of regular academic supervision to enhance teaching quality. Fourth, the application of performance-based reward systems to boost teacher motivation. The school principals also demonstrate transformational leadership by leading through discipline, integrity, and commitment to the foundation's vision. Despite facing challenges such as limited budgets and resistance to change, school principals have overcome these obstacles through effective communicative and collaborative approaches. This research concludes that the strategic leadership of school principals plays a fundamental role in improving teacher professionalism. Based on these findings, it is recommended to strengthen the synergy between school principals, teachers, and the foundation to create a quality and sustainable educational ecosystem

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasi metode transliterasi dalam pembelajaran Al-Quran di Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Amaliyah Sunggal. Metode transliterasi yang efektif dapat memfasilitasi pemahaman dan kemampuan membaca Al-Quran bagi siswa yang tidak memiliki latar belakang bahasa Arab yang kuat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari guru Al-Quran, siswa, dan administrasi sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode transliterasi yang digunakan saat ini belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca Al-Quran siswa. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi ketersediaan materi transliterasi yang tidak sesuai dengan level kebutuhan siswa dan kurangnya pelatihan guru dalam mengimplementasikan metode ini secara efektif. Berdasarkan temuan ini, penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan materi transliterasi yang lebih komprehensif dan pelatihan berkelanjutan untuk guru dalam teknik transliterasi. Diharapkan dengan optimasi metode transliterasi ini, pembelajaran Al-Quran di Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Amaliyah Sunggal dapat lebih efektif dan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran serta penguasaan Al-Quran di kalangan siswa.

Abstract

This research explores effective opening and closing skills in the context of Islamic Religious Education at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Amaliyah Sunggal. The method used in this research is qualitative while data collection through observation, interview and document study. The purpose of this study was to explore the skills of opening and closing an effective lesson at the private madrasah aliyah Amaliyah Sunggal. The results showed that opening the lesson involved the use of prayer, brief motivation, and linking the material to real life, while effective closing included summarizing the material, reflection, and prayer. The study also found that the use of inspirational stories and reflective questions significantly increased students' curiosity and activeness in learning. The use of varied and innovative learning methods, including information technology and interactive learning media, is key in improving the quality and effectiveness of learning. The challenges teachers face in implementing these skills include variations in learning methods, student understanding and awareness, integration of Islamic values, and limited resources.

Abstract

Keluarga memiliki peran sentral dan fundamental dalam membentuk kepribadian, moralitas, dan spiritualitas anak. Dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, keluarga dipandang sebagai al-madrasah al-l atau sekolah pertama bagi anak. Peran ini menjadi semakin kompleks dalam keluarga militer, di mana praktik pengasuhan menghadapi tantangan akibat tuntutan dinas militer, absennya salah satu orang tua dalam jangka waktu panjang, serta tekanan emosional yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi pengasuhan yang diterapkan dalam keluarga militer serta keterkaitannya dengan ketahanan keluarga dan perkembangan spiritual anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain studi kasus, yang difokuskan pada keluarga militer di Koramil 02 Tebingtinggi. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi, dengan melibatkan lima keluarga prajurit aktif, satu tokoh agama lokal, dan satu konselor pendidikan anak. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, dengan dukungan triangulasi dan member checking untuk memastikan validitas data. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman komprehensif tentang penerapan strategi pengasuhan kontekstual dalam keluarga militer yang mendukung ketahanan emosional dan pertumbuhan spiritual anak di tengah tantangan institusional dan psikologis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the challenges in integrating science and religious literacy in vocational high school. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Islamic values-based Project-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve science and religious literacy at Al Karomah Berastagi Private Vocational School. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that the implementation of PBL was carried out systematically through planning, implementation, reflection, and presentation, with the integration of Islamic values in each stage. This implementation improved students' mastery of scientific concepts, critical thinking skills, and the application of science in daily life. Students' religious literacy also develops through the understanding of Qur'anic verses relevant to science, as well as the internalization of spiritual values and religious practices. The role of teachers, school support, and the involvement of the social environment are important factors in the success of this model. Although there are obstacles, cross-subject collaboration strategies can be an effective solution. The implication of this research shows that Islamic values-based PBL can be an effective model for integrating science and religious literacy and promoting holistic learning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of a love-based curriculum in developing the character of santri at Pondok Pesantren Modern Darul Ulum Al-Muhajirin, Langkat Regency. This curriculum integrates five main values, namely love for Allah, the Messenger of Allah, knowledge, fellow humans, and the homeland, which are applied in various aspects of pesantren life. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which involves in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results showed that the love-based curriculum succeeded in shaping the character of better santri, with improvements in discipline, empathy, social responsibility, and love for knowledge and the homeland. Although the implementation of this curriculum shows positive results, the main challenge faced is the influence of globalization and technology that often conflicts with pesantren values. Overall, the love-based curriculum at Pondok Pesantren Modern Darul Ulum Al-Muhajirin can be an effective model in developing the character of students, who are not only academically intelligent, but also have noble character and care for others and the homeland.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menghadirkan peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi optimalisasi sarana dan prasarana di MTS PAB 5 Klambir Lima pada era digital. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa madrasah telah melakukan transformasi pembelajaran melalui integrasi perangkat digital yang sudah ada. Pengelolaan fasilitas dilakukan berbasis nilai Islam seperti amanah, kebersihan, dan efisiensi, serta diperkuat dengan strategi kolaboratif. Optimalisasi ini terbukti berdampak pada peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa, efisiensi evaluasi, serta penguatan karakter religius. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mutu pendidikan dapat ditingkatkan melalui manajemen adaptif yang memadukan inovasi digital dengan nilai-nilai Islam.

Abstract

The decline in students’ religious character and moral behavior reflects a growing gap between the spiritual values promoted in schools and students’ actual conduct. This study aims to explore how collaborative co-teaching between Islamic Education and Counseling teachers can strengthen students’ religious character at SMA Panca Budi Medan. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and administrators. The findings show that the co-teaching model—implemented through joint planning, teaching, and evaluation—fosters an integrative approach combining spiritual guidance and psychological support. Islamic Education teachers emphasize moral and spiritual values, while Counseling teachers facilitate reflection and emotional awareness. This collaboration enhances students’ religiosity, empathy, discipline, and participation in religious activities. The model also improves teacher professionalism through mutual learning and shared reflection. However, challenges remain, including scheduling constraints and differing pedagogical paradigms. The study implies that co-teaching offers a transformative framework for character education in Islamic schools, promoting holistic, contextual, and value-based formation of students’ religious identity.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan Kemandirian merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak tunagrahita untuk mendukung kehidupan mereka di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melaksanakan program bina diri sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat, guna meningkatkan kemandirian anak tunagrahita di SLB C Muzdalifah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan guru, orang tua, dan peserta didik dalam setiap tahap pelaksanaan program. Program bina diri dirancang secara sistematis meliputi aspek kebersihan diri, keterampilan rumah tangga, dan kemampuan sosial sederhana yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kemampuan peserta didik. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan kemandirian anak tunagrahita, yang terlihat dari peningkatan kemampuan mereka dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari secara mandiri, seperti berpakaian, menjaga kebersihan diri, dan berinteraksi dengan lingkungan. Selain itu, keterlibatan guru dan orang tua dalam program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap keberlanjutan program di luar sekolah. Dengan demikian, program bina diri ini terbukti efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan kemandirian anak tunagrahita. Rekomendasi untuk pengembangan program di masa mendatang adalah memperluas cakupan materi dan melibatkan komunitas lokal untuk mendukung integrasi anak tunagrahita ke masyarakat.
