Abstract

The Pavement Design Manual 2024, which requires the use of asphalt PG 70 for loads above 30 million ESAL and the increasing volume of palm oil waste that requires handling and reuse, as well as the need for alternative materials to be used as fillers, make it necessary to develop environmentally friendly materials by combining asphalt PG-70 and palm oil fuel ash as fillers. This pavement mixture is expected to be a mixture containing environmentally friendly road construction materials as well as a solution to the utilization of palm oil waste that can withstand high traffic loads. Testing of aggregate materials, asphalt, and asphalt mixtures was carried out at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Medan State Polytechnic, in accordance with SNI, which refers to the General Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction Work 2018 Revision 2. The results obtained were that palm oil fuel ash as filler in asphalt mixture PG 70 gave an average value of stability above 1000 kg, density of 2-3 gr/ml, and VFA above 65% in all variations of filler content, for VIM values between 3-5% in the 50% and 75% variations, and VMA values above 15% in the 50%, 75% and 100% variations, while the flow value did not meet the standard value of 2-4 mm for all variations of filler content. Asphalt mixture PG 70 with palm oil fuel ash filler produces good density and stability values, but under repeated loading it will easily cause waves and rutting in the pavement due to the rigid nature of the mixture with a very high flow value and thus allow bleeding because the value of VFA is also very high.

Abstract

Arranging the parking area by planning the need for vertical parking spaces based on green transportation can be done to increase the UI Greenmentric score at Politeknik Negeri Medan, making the campus environmentally friendly. Therefore, the need for parking spaces is calculated. The planning of vertical parking spaces is based on parking population survey data conducted directly in the field as well as secondary data from previous research. From the calculations, the current need for motorcycle parking space at Politeknik Negeri Medan is 699 SRP, which will increase to 1,003.641 SRP in the next 10 years. Since only 800 SRP are available at the planned location, a multi-level motorcycle parking facility is being planned. Thus the existing parking area can be reduced by 4-7% with a score of 100 or 50% of the maximum value of indicator TR5. This figure increases from the calculation in the existing condition, which is 7-11% with a score of 50, representing 25% of the maximum value of the TR5 indicator. Abstract

Sungai Alas yang berasal dari rekahan sesar Pulau Sumatera setelah melalui proses tektonik menyebabkan banyak terdapat berbagai jenis material batuan, kerikil dan pasir didaerah tersebut. Desa Kuta Baru I, Kecamatan Lawe Alas, Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara adalah salah satu lokasi dimana terdapat potensi material lokal yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai material perkerasan jalan. Untuk pengolahannya, material dari Desa Kuta Baru I ini dibawa ke Desa Kandang Mbelang Kecamatan Lawe Bulan Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara. Dengan mengoptimalkan potensi material pasir dan kerikil yang cukup banyak, sangat dimungkinkan untuk dijadikan quarry bagi pembangunan jalan di Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara. Berkaitan dengan hal diatas, dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui kelayakan material lokal ini sesuai dengan spesifikasi Bina Marga Tahun 2018 Revisi 2 agar dapat digunakan sebagai lapis pondasi agregat kelas A. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa material lokal yang berasal dari Quarry Sungai Alas Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara memenuhi persyaratan Spesifikasi Bina Marga Revisi 2 untuk digunakan sebagai material Lapis Pondasi Atas (LPA) kelas A dengan nilai CBR yang dihasilkan sebesar 90,47 % , W optimum 5,31% dan γd max 2,15 gr/cm3

Abstract

Desa Sei Buluh adalah salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Perbaungan, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Desa Sei Buluh terletak di daratan rendah dengan ketinggian 7-meter diatas permukaan laut dengan suhu rata-rata berkisar 30ºC. Secara geografi Desa Sei Buluh sendiri terletak di perbatasan dengan batas-batas wilayah sebagai berikut: sebelah utara: berbatasan dengan Desa Tanjung Buluh, sebelah timur: berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu, sebelah barat: berbatasan dengan Desa Tanjung Buluh, sebelah selatan: berbatasan dengan Desa Sei Sijenggi. Desa Sei Buluh memiliki lokasi yang cukup strategis untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan pertanian khususnya komoditi padi. Desa Sei Buluh yang secara administratif berada dekat dengan kawasan pusat Kota Serdang Bedagai maupun dengan Kecamatan Perbaungan dan merupakan kawasan yang memiliki kondisi alam yang mendukung. Dengan posisi ini, Desa Sei Buluh memiliki aksesibilitas yang baik dalam menjangkau fungsi-fungsi pelayanan yang ada di Kecamatan Perbaungan. Pada daerah Dusun II Desa Sei Buluh, para petani mulai berani menanam tanaman padi pada saaat musim penghujan, karena sumber pengairan masyarakat setempat hanya mengandalkan air hujan. Pada saat musim kemarau seperti saat ini, para petani hanya menanam tanaman holtikultura, yakni tanaman sayur-sayuran seperti kangkung, genjer, dan sawi. Untuk itu, kelompok tani mengharapkan adanya sumber pengairan terdekat sehingga mereka dapat menanam padi pada areal persawahan mereka tanpa tergantung kepada cuaca alam. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah dengan mengadakan sumur bor dan perpipaan, mesin bor, dan tapak dudukan mesinnya. Hal ini bermanfaat dalam penyediaan air bersih dan pemenuhan kebutuhan air di bidang lingkungan. Sumur bor merupakan investasi yang berharga bagi pertanian, memberikan banyak manfaat yang berkelanjutan dan berkontribusi pada keberlanjutan dan produktivitas pertanian pada Dusun II Desa Sei Buluh.

Abstract

On the agricultural land managed by the Subur Farmers Group, there is one bridge for the farm road. The condition of the bridge is inadequate, in addition to its small dimensions, it has also been severely damaged. The existence of this bridge is very important because it is the only access to the farmer group's agricultural land which is separated by a channel. With this bridge, it can save time and energy in the mobility of agricultural machinery, production facilities and transporting agricultural products from and to agricultural land. The solution offered is to repair the farm road bridge in the form of repairing the river stone masonry and expanding the bridge floor. After this activity, the repair of the farm road bridge can provide adequate access as transportation access in the agricultural area to facilitate the mobility of agricultural machinery, production facilities and transportation of agricultural products from and to agricultural land.

Abstract

In the UI Greenmetric assessment, transportation is one of the six categories that are required for a green campus, and one of the indicators is the pedestrian path on campus (TR8). In the transportation category, Medan State Polytechnic obtained a score of 725 or 40.3% of the total maximum value of the transportation category. The nonoptimal score obtained is due to the pedestrian path on campus indicator (TR8) obtaining one point with the availability of pedestrian. The addition of scores is made by pedestrian paths connected to all buildings designed for safety and convenience and in some parts provided with disabled-friendly features. It’s very important to have a pedestrian arrangement, to make Medan State Polytechnic become an environmentally friendly campus, which is the purpose of this research. The arrangement is making a pedestrian path layout that connects to the entire area of the Medan State Polytechnic Building and calculating the minimum width requirements of the pedestrian path, then making a pedestrian path layout. Pedestrian flow surveys were conducted on 5 pedestrians and 2 hallways that were considered representative of the pedestrian paths that available at Medan State Polytechnic. The results of calculations and adjusted by the provisions of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing 2023 on Pedestrian Technical Planning, the pedestrian path width requirement is 185 cm.

Abstract

Taman Pendidikan Al Quran (TPA) Rumah Quran Darul Quro yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Bah Kapul, Kecamatan Siantar Sitalasari, Kota Pematangsiantar, Provinsi Sumatera Utara merupakan pendidikan non formal yang menitikberatkan pada pembelajaran membaca Al Qur’an dengan muatan tambahan berorientasi pada pembentukan akhlak dan Kepribadian Islamiah. TPA ini dikelola oleh 5 orang pengurus serta 4 orang guru dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 83 orang yang terbagi dalam 4 kelas berdasarkan umur serta kemampuan para siswa. Banyaknya peminat TPA ini kurang didukung dengan fasilitas kelas yang memadai, kondisi ruang kelasnya mengalami kerusakan pada dinding sekat antar kelas dan lantai kelas, serta kurangnya fasilitas penunjang seperti lemari, meja dan kursi untuk kantor. Hal ini menyebabkan kondisi pembelajaran menjadi kurang kondusif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan pada TPA Rumah Quran Darul Quro dengan melakukan perbaikan pada ruang kelas yang berukuran 20 m2 yaitu perbaikan pada dinding sekat antar ruangan dan pemasangan keramik pada lantai dengan luas 15 m2 serta pemberian beberapa fasilitas penunjang pembelajaran berupa kursi, meja dan lemari untuk tempat penyimpanan Al Quran. Dengan dilakukannya kegiatan ini diharapkan akan meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan sehingga para siswa lebih semangat belajar dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dalam membaca, menulis, menghafal dan mengamalkan Al Quran. The TPA Rumah Quran Darul Quro House located in Bah Kapul Village, Siantar Sitalasari Subdistrict, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province is a non-formal education that focuses on learning to read the Qur'an, Morals and Islamic Personality. The TPA is managed by 5 people in the management and 4 teachers with 83 students who are divided into 4 classes based on the age and ability of the students. The enthusiasts of student to study here is less supported by adequate classroom facilities, the classroom walls and the floors has damage, and there are lack of supporting facilities such as cabinets, tables and chairs for the office. This causes an unconducive of learning process. The aims of this activity is to improve the quality of service at the Rumah Qur’an Darul Quro by making improvements to the 20 m2 classroom by renovation the class barrier and installation of 15 m2 ceramics floor and giving several support like chairs, tables and cabinets for Qur’an storage. This activity is expecting to improve the quality of service of Rumah Qur’an Darul Quro, so that students have more spirit to learn and improving the ability to read, write, memorize and practice the Qur’an.
