Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the influence of mock media towards students learning activities and conceptual understanding. Samples were X1 as experiment class and X2 as control class that selected by purposive sampling. The design of this research was pretest-posttest non-equivalent group. Quantitative data was obtained from the average of test scores that analyzed by using t-test and U-test. Qualitative data were students learning activities and questionnaire responses that analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students learning activities at experiment class was higher than control class. The aspect of asking question (63%), giving ideas/opinions (93%), communication in group (82,80%), responding question (77%). Students conceptual understanding improved with average value of pretest (39,87%), posttest (84,85) and N-gain (0,75). In addition, most of the students gave positive responds to the using of mock media. Thus, mock media influence to student activities improvement and significant to student conceptual understanding.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media maket terhadap aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi oleh siswa. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok tak- ekuivalen. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Pada aspek mengajukan pertanyaan (63%), mengungkapkan ide/pendapat (93%), berkomunikasi dalam kelompok (82,80%), menjawab pertanyaan (81,83%). Penguasaan materi siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata nilai pretes (39,87), postes (84,85) dan N-gain (0,75). Selain itu, sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media maket. Dengan demikian media maket berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas belajar dan siginifikan terhadap penguasaan materi oleh siswa.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, media maket, penguasaan materi

Abstract

This study aim was to determine activities and learning outcomes of students through the application of NHT learning model. The research design was non equivalent pretest posttest. The research sample were students of SMPN 5 Tulang Bawang Tengah that was selected by purposive sampling method. The research data were obtained from the average value of written test that were analyzed by using t-test and U-test. Another data were obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and questionnaire responses that were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning outcomes of experiment class was different significantly from the control class. The average percentage of student activity of asking, answering questions and expressing ideas / in experiment class was higher than control. All students gave positive responses to the use of NHT model. It can be concluded that the use of the NHT learning model was effective for increasing students activity and learning outcomes.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran tipe NHT. Desain penelitian pretes-postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian siswa SMPN 5 Tulang Bawang Tengah yang dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa hasil belajar yang diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes tertulis dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Data lain berupa aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen berbeda signifikan dengan kelas kontrol . Rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa aspek bertanya, menjawab pertanyaan dan mengemukakan ide pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih tinggi. Semua siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model NHT. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran NHT efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, numbered heads together

Abstract

The study aim was to describe the learning style based on gender ang ats corelation with students learning achievement. Design research was a qualiative descriptive. The research samples were 120 students of class IX SMP Kedaton sub-district that were selected by purposive sampling.the research data were learning styles and learning achievement, that were obtained from questionnaries and written tests, data were analyzed descriptively and stastistically using different test Mann-Whitney U and Kendalls Tau correlation test. The result showed, that were three learning styles, that were visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The auditory learning style was more dominant than the others. On test Mann-Whitney U there was no significant difference between students learnng styles of male and female students. There was no significant correlation between learning styles with learning achievement of male and female students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya belajar berdasarkangender dan hubungan dengan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian berupa deskritif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah 120 siswa kelas IX SMP se-Kecamatan Kedaton yang dipiih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa gaya belajar dan hasil belajar, diperoleh dari angket dan tes tertulis, dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik menggunakan uji beda Mann-Whitney U dan uji korelasi Kendalls Tau. Hasilnya, diketahui ada tiga gaya belajar yaitu gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Gaya belajar auditorial lebih dominan dibandingkan gaya belajar yang lain. Dalam uji Mann-Whitney U tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara gaya belajar siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara gaya belajar dengan hasil belajar pada siswa laki-laki dan perempuan.Kata kunci: gaya belajar, gender, hasil belajar

Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the effect of science process skills approach to rational thinking ability of students. The study design was a pretest-posttest design non-equivalent groups. The samples in this study were class X1 and X2 that selected by purposive sampling technique. The quantitative data obtained from pretest and posttest values were analyzed by comparison of N-gain using a Hake formula, while the qualitative data in the form of student learning activity data were analyzed descriptively. The results of study indicated that the application of science process skills approach can improve students' ability to think rationally (N-gain 63,53). The ability of students from each observed indicators of rational thinking has increased. The highest enhancement was an indicator of the ability to gather information and the lowest is the ability to solve problems rationally. Thus the application of science process skills approach gave significant effect in improving rational thinking ability and student learning activities. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan keterampilan proses sains terhadap kemampuan berpikir rasional siswa. Desain penelitian adalah desain pretes-postes kelompok non equivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X2 yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis dengan perbandingan N-gain menggunakan formula Hake, sedangkan data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses sains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir rasional siswa (N-gain 63,53). Kemampuan siswa dari tiap indikator berpikir rasional yang diamati mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan tertinggi adalah indikator kemampuan menggali informasi dan terendah adalah kemampuan memecahkan masalah secara rasional. Dengan demikian penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses sains berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir rasional dan aktivitas belajar siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar siswa, keterampilan berpikir rasional, keterampilan proses sains

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of STAD and Jigsaw models in increase  material mastery. The design is pretest-posttest distinguish class. The sample were class VIIIC and VIIID which selected by purposive sampling. The data in quantitative and qualitative form. Quantitative data obtained from the average of pretest, posttest and gain were analyzed using U test. Qualitative data obtained  form the observatin sheet of learning activities were analyzed decriptive. The results showed that the material mastery of students Jigsaw model (gain 0,70) significantly different than the STAD model (gain 0,50). Student’s learning activity used Jigsaw model is in enough criteria ( 58,17 %) whereas the STAD model has less criteria ( 47,17 %). Thus, average material mastery and student’s learning activity used Jigsaw models is higher than student who used the STAD models in the sybject matter of Human Motion Systems.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model STAD dan Jigsaw terhadap penguasaan materi oleh siswa. Desain penelitian adalah tes awal tes akhir kelompok pembanding. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIIIC dan VIIID yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretest, postest dan gain yang dianalisis menggunakan uji U. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan materi oleh siswa pada model Jigsaw (gain 0,70) berbeda secara signifikan dibandingkan model STAD (gain 0,50). Aktivitas belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berkriteria cukup ( 58,17 %) sedangkan dengan model STAD berkriteria kurang ( 47,17 %). Dengan demikian, rata-rata penguasaan materi dan aktivitas belajar siswa yang menggunakan model Jigsaw lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model STAD pada materi pokok Sistem Gerak Manusia.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar siswa, jigsaw, penguasaan materi siswa, STAD

Abstract

This research aimed to produced Flash animation and interactive question based on Powerpoint. Design was research and development, as trial subject XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, SMA N 1 and SMA Teladan Way Jepara. This research were through by 3 step preface study, development and evaluation. Result of this research were Flash animation and interactive question based on Powerpoint that appropriated with requirement. Effectiveness test showed average of learning outcomes in experiment was higher than control (experiment 1 = 91,56; experiment 2 = 96,7; control 1 = 68,39; control 2 = 66,3). Test of attractive got feasibility scored 3,28 with values assessment so interesting. Test of material expert got percentage feassibility of 85%, test of design expert 90%, test of language expert 90%, test of practitioner expert 100. It can be concluded that Flash animation result of development product effective to improve students learning outcomes and can be variety of study resource.Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan animasi Flash dan soal interaktif berbasis Powerpoint. Desain yang digunakan adalah research and development, subjek uji coba kelas XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2 SMA N 1 dan SMA Teladan Way Jepara. Penelitian melalui tiga tahap yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian berupa animasi Flash dan soal interaktif berbasis Powerpoint yang sesuai karakteristik. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (eksperimen 1 = 91,56; eksperimen 2 = 96,7; kontrol 1 = 68,39; kontrol 2 = 66,3). Uji kemenarikan memperoleh nilai kelayakan 3,28 dengan penilaian sangat menarik. Uji ahli materi memperoleh persentase kelayakan 85%, uji ahli desain 80%, ahli bahasa 80%, praktisi 100%. Dapat disimpulkan animasi Flash hasil pengembangan teruji efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan dapat dijadikan sumber belajar alternatif yang variatif.Kata kunci : animasi flash, sistem pernapasan manusia, soal interaktif berbasis powerpoint

Abstract

The result of observation and interview with biology teacher in class X of SMAN 1 Pagar Dewa, were found out the output of students have already lowered. This is caused by teachers that using inappropriate learning model. This research aim to understand of activity progress of study also mastery of concept the student by means of application of model learning process of TAI. This study is experimental kuasi with pretest, posttest design of group non-equivalent. The sample of research are students of class X5 and X6 that were chosen by cluster random sampling. The result of study shown that the student activity in every aspects were observed in the experiment class has already increased. The aspect of question has grade 87,5%, the aspect of answer the question is 90,28%, and the aspect to express of ides is 84,72%. Mastery of the concept also increasing, on the average of grades pretest 45, the grades of posttest is 67 and   N-gain is 0,39. In short, learning process by using model of TAI may increasing the activities of studying and mastery of the concept of student. Key words : TAI, activities of studying and mastery of the concept of student.

Abstract

This research aim wasto describe students' misconception in the concept of plants photosynthesis and respiration and all factors that affected students' misconception. This research used descriptivedesign. The Samples were 351 SMP students of VIIIgrade at Tumijajar district academic year 2015/2016 which were chosen by using purposive sampling technique. Data were collectedby multipkle choicetest and student questionnaire. The test result were analyzed using the CRI, while the student questionnaire were analyzed using Pearson correlation test. The result of dataanalysis showed that students get misconception that was 57,30% with "adequate" criteria. The misconception was commonly on respiration concept with the "high" criteria (62,10%). Pearson correlation test results showed that the factors correlated to studentS misconceptions that was motivation factor. There are only 16,24% students who have learned about plant photosynthesis and respiration concept on their home before learning with teacher of the school. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran miskonsepsi siswa pada konsep fotosintesis dan respirasi tumbuhan, serta faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap miskonsepsi siswa. Desain penelitian dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Sampel terdiri atas 351 siswa kelas VIII SMP se- Kecamatan Tumijajar pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes CRI dan angket siswa. Hasil analisisdata menunjukkan rerata miskonsepsi siswa kelas VIII se-kecamatan tumijajar sebesar 57,30% dengan kriteria sedang. Miskonsepsi paling sering terjadi pada konsep respirasi dengan kriteria tinggi (62,10%). Hasil uji korelasi pearson angket siswa menunjukkan faktor yang berkorelasi terhadap miskonsepsi siswa yaitu faktor motivasi siswa. Hasil angket menunjukkan hanya sebesar 16,24% siswa yang belajar konsep fotosintesis dan respirasi tumbuhan dirumah sebelum belajar bersama guru disekolah. Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the communication skills of science and creative thinking of students in the matter of environmental pollution. The design used was pretest-posttest non equivalent control group. The research samples were the students of VII.I as the experimental class and VII.B as the control class that were selected through cluster random sampling. Data on science communication skills were obtained through observation sheets, and analyzed descriptively. Data on creative thinking skills were obtained through test questions, and analyzed by t test. The results showed that science communication skills were good (84) and creative thinking ability was higher and significantly different compared to the control class. So that it can be concluded that PjBL affects the communication skills of science and creative thinking of students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi sains dan berpikir kreatif peserta didik pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Desain pada penelitian ini yaitu pretest-posttest non equivalent control group. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, kelas VII.I sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII.B sebagai kelas kontrol. Data kemampuan komunikasi sains diperoleh melalui lembar observasi, dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kemampuan berpikir kreatif diperoleh melalui tes, dan dianalisis dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi sains berkriteria baik (84), serta kemampuan berpikir kreatif lebih tinggi dan berbeda signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa PjBL berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi sains dan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Kata kunci: berpikir kreatif, komunikasi sains, project based learning

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model in improving student scientific process skills (SPS) and learning activities. This study uses a pretest-posttest design non-equivalent groups with a sample of students were class XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 selected the population by purposive sampling technique. This research data were qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were the activities and student's questionnaire responses. Quantitative data was the average SPS scores were analyzed using t-test and U-test.The results showed that the average increase of student’s SPS is 62,93%. The majority of students (90,32%) gave a positive response to the application of guided inquiry learning model. Thus, guided inquiry learning model influential in improving scientific process skills and student learning activities in the subject matter of the reproductive system. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan KPS dan aktivitas belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretes-postes kelompok non-ekuivalen dengan sampel kelas XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 yang dipilih dari populasi dengan teknik purposive sampling.Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif.Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata KPS siswa yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata peningkatan KPS siswa adalah 62,93%. Sebagian besar siswa (90,32%) memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi sistem reproduksi. Kata kunci :  inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan proses sains (KPS), sistem reproduksi
