Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of conformity of bacteria materials in Biology textbooks of High School Grade X with basic competence Curriculum 2013 reviewed in terms of breadth and depth of the material. This research was a qualitative research by using documentation study. The object of this research was A book published by Erlangga and B book published by Yrama Widya. Suitability data obtained from the analysis of bacterial material in textbooks, then analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that the level of the suitability of bacteria material with basic competence of Curriculum 2013 in A book categorized as "appropriate" with 80% in terms of the breadth of material, while viewed from the aspect of material depth categorized as "less appropriate" with 57.2%. While in B book categorized as "appropriate" with 80% in terms of the breadth of material, while viewed from the aspect of material depth categorized as "less appropriate" with 57.4%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kesesuaian materi bakteri pada buku teks Biologi SMA Kelas X dengan Kompetensi Dasar Kurikulum 2013 ditinjau dari aspek keluasan dan kedalaman materi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi dokumentasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah buku A diterbitkan oleh Erlangga dan buku B diterbitkan oleh Yrama Widya. Data kesesuaian diperoleh dari hasil analisis materi bakteri pada buku teks, selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesesuaian materi bakteri dengan KD Kurikulum 2013 pada buku A berkategori sesuai dengan persentase 80% ditinjau dari aspek keluasan materi, sedangkan ditinjau dari aspek kedalaman materi berkategori cukup sesuai dengan persentase 57.2%. Sementara pada buku B ditinjau dari aspek keluasan materi berkategori sesuai dengan persentase 80%, sedangkan ditinjau dari aspek kedalaman materi berkategori cukup sesuai dengan persentase 57.4%.Kata kunci : buku teks, kedalaman materi, keluasan materi, tingkat kesesuaian

Abstract

This research aimed to know the comparison model LC with STAD model towards student’s learning activities and material mastery. This research design was pretest-posttest non equivalent group. Samples were VIIIA and VIIIC that was chosen by purposive sampling. The qualitative data of learning activities and student questionnaire responses which analyzed descriptively. The quantitative data obtained average value of pretest, posttest, and gain were analyzed using U-test. The result showed the STAD (0.61 value) improve student’s material mastery morethan LC (0.57 value). STAD gain of C2 indicator (0.52) and (0.97) LC; C4 indicator (0.55) STAD and (0.45) LC. The average learning activities all aspects (colaboration, search informatian, write opinions, presentation, ask question) STAD class (73.42) and (63.53) LC. Generally most of student (90.60%) gave positive response towards STAD and LC (87.56%). Thus, learning by using model STAD significan influence to improve student’s activities and material mastery.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbandingan penggunaan model LC dengan STAD terhadap aktivitas dan penguasaan materi siswa. Desain penelitian pretes-postes kelompok tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian kelas VIIIA dan VIIIC dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa di analisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif rata-rata nilai pretes, postes, dan gain dianalisis menggunakan uji-t atau uji U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model STAD (Gain 0,61) lebih meningkatkan penguasaan materi siswa dibanding LC (Gain 0,57). Pada STAD gain indikator C2 sebesar (0,52) dan (0,97) LC; indikator C4 sebesar (0,55) STAD dan (0,45) LC. Rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa semua aspek (Bekerja sama, mencari informasi, menulis pendapat, presentasi, mengajukan pertanyaan) kelas STAD yaitu (73,42) dan (63,53) pada LC. Sebagian siswa 90,60 %. memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap STAD dan LC 87,56 %. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan model STAD berpengaruh signifikan meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan materi siswa.Kata kunci: model LC 5 fase, model STAD, penguasaan materi, sistem pencernaan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of problem based learning (PBL) model to enhance students collaboration and high order thinking skill. 56 students from two classes was used as sample using purposive sampling technique. Quasi experimental design with pretest-postest control group was used in this research. Collaboration skills data were measured using observation sheets which were analyzed by calculating the average value. Data of high order thinking skill were measured using test instrument analyzed by calculating N-gain and T-test. The result of collaboration and high order thinking data analysis were obtained from experimental class that were higher than the control class. The result showed that problem based lerning (PBL) model can improved collaboration and high order thinking skill of student.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan model problem based learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi dan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 56 peserta didik terbagi atas dua kelas yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Pretes-Postes kelompok kontrol. Data keterampilan kolaborasi diukur menggunakan lembar observasi yang dianalisis dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata. Data keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi diukur menggunakan intsrumen tes yang dianalisis dengan menghitung N-gain dan uji T-test. Hasil analisis data kolaborasi maupun berpikir tingkat tinggi yang didapatkan pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi dan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik. Kata kunci: berpikir tingkat tinggi, kolaborasi, problem based learning

Abstract

This research aimed to determine improvement of students activities and learning outcomes. Samples were X1 and X2 SMAN 1 Trimurjo 2013/2014 Academic Year were selected by purposive sampling and research design was pretest posttest non-equivalen group. Quantitave data were obtained from pretest posttest average value which analysed statisticly. Qualitative data were learning activity, respond questionare, and involved questionare which analyzed descriptively. The results showed percentage average of students activity on whole aspect in good criteria (75,91%). Most of students gave positive responds and involved on Problem Based Learning (PBL). PBL could increased students learning outcomes with N-gain average of high criteria (74,10%). Learning outcomes improvement for cognitive indicators (C2 and C4) with N-gain average of high criteria (79,17%), C2 cognitive indicator and C4 cognitive had medium criteria (69,02%). It was obvious that PBL could increased students activity and learning outcomes.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X2 SMAN 1 Trimurjo TP 2013/2014 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dan desain penelitian pretes postes kelompok non-ekuivalen. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis secara statistik. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar, angket tanggapan, dan angket keterlibatan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata persentase aktivitas belajar siswa dalam semua aspek berkriteria baik (75,91%). Sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap model PBL dan terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran PBL. Penggunaan model PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan rata-rata N-gain yang berkriteria tinggi (74,10%). Peningkatan hasil belajar terjadi pada semua indikator kognitif (C2 dan C4) dengan rata-rata N-gain berkriteria tinggi (79,17%) untuk indikator kognitif C2; dan indikator kognitif C4 berkriteria sedang (69,02%). Dengan demikian penggunaan model PBL dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, model PBL

Abstract

Mastery of material is success rate in achievement destination and target. However the result of observation in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Baradatu, known that students learning outcomes is still low. This research has goal to know effectiveness  of the cooperative learning type numbered head together (nht) model to improve mastery of material and the activity of studying of the student.The design of this research is pretest-posttest non equivalent. The sample was students of class VIIID and VIIIE are selected by clusters of random sampling. The data of this research quantitative and qualitative data. Qualitative data got by average value pretest, posttest, and N-gain that analyzed statistically using uji t. Qualitative data is students learning activity, student response toward the use of NHT model that analyzed in descriptive. The result of research showed that effectiveness  of the cooperative learning type NHT to improve mastery get increasing with average value pretest (42,62); postes (80,21); dan N-gain (0,65). students activity all aspects observed in experiment class increasing that is asking aspect  (78,49%); response (79,57%); discussion (91,40%); giving opinion (76,88%), the high number supported by asking quality, response, and students opinion as the subject in growth and development in humans. In addition most of students gave positive response toward the use of  NHT model the data of question form (100%) students get excited and interested in NHT model and make students more active in discussing. Most of students (90,32%) student gave a positive response to toward the use of  NHT model. So, NHT model can  improve mastery of material and the activity of studying of the student.  Keywords: NHT model, mastery of material , activity of studying of the student, growth and development in humans.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the misconceptions on Photosynthesis and Respiration of Plants and the factors that can affected students misconception of 8th grade students in Gedong Tataan district. The research samples consist of 531 students that were selected by purposive sampling and using descriptive design. Data was collected by written test and analyzed with Certainty of Response Index, and students questionnaire were analyzed by Kendalls Tau Correlation test. Study result showed that percentage of students misconception on all concept was 61,27%. The percentages of misconceptions students on plants photosynthesis, respiration and photosynthesis and respiration were 60,88%, 64,03%, and 58,95%. Study result of Kendalls Tau correlation test showed that the factors affecting students misconceptions in this research was students themselves. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa pada konsep fotosintesis dan respirasi tumbuhan serta faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi siswa SMP kelas VIII se-Kecamatan Gedong Tataan. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 531 siswa dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan desain deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dengan tes tertulis dan dianalisis menggunakan Certainty of Response Index (CRI), sedangkan angket siswa dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Kendalls Tau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan miskonsepsi siswa pada keseluruhan materi sebesar 61,27%. Siswa yang miskonsepsi pada konsep Fotosintesis, Respirasi Tumbuhan, serta Fotosintesis dan Respirasi Tumbuhan sebesar 60,88%, 64,03%, dan 58,95%. Hasil uji korelasi Kendalls Tau menunjukkan faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi pada penelitian ini berasal dari siswa itu sendiri.Kata kunci: Certainly of Response Index, fotosintesis, miskonsepsi, respirasi tumbuhan

Abstract

The objective of this research was knowing the influence of  using group investigation learning model toword students activity and students learning result. The research designs were non equivalent pretest – posttest. The research sample were students in X1 and X3 class that was selected by purposive sampling technique. Data of the research were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was gotten by students learning activity and questionnaire that was analyzed descriptively. The quantitative data were the average score of test, that was analyzed by t-test and U-test. The result showed that the students learning activity improve, they were teamwork (78.16), observation result presentation/group discussing (80.46), asking question (65.52), and creating conclusion (77.01). The students learning outcomes also develop, with N-gain average score was 56.91. It was mean, that using group investigation as the learning model influenced the improvement of students learning activity and students learning result in contamination and preservation of environment material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran group investigation terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes-postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X3  yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari aktivitas belajar siswa dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yaitu bekerjasama dengan teman (78,16), mempresentasikan hasil penyelidikan/diskusi kelompok (80,46), mengajukan pertanyaan (65,52), dan membuat kesimpulan (77,01). Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain 56,91. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran group investigation berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaran dan pelestarian lingkungan.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, group investigation, hasil belajar

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) for improving students learning activities and students learning outcomes on environment subject matter. Samples were X5 and X6 from SMA N 1 Trimurjo 2013/2014 academic year that was choosen by purposive sampling. The research design was pretest-postest non equivalent. The quantitative data were students learning outcomes from pretest, postest score which analyzed using t-test and U-test. The qualitative data were students learning activities data, questionnaire responses that were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the average of learning activities increased in every aspect with adequate criteria (68,18). Most of students (77,27%-95,45%) gave positive responds and involved in PBL. PBL model improved students learning outcomes with N-gain average on medium criteria (67,98%). N-gain average of C4 indicator cognitif on experiment class was significantly different but was not significantly different on N-gain average of C2 indicator cognitif.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada meteri pokok lingkungan. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X5 dan X6 SMA N 1 Trimurjo tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian adalah pretes postes tak ekuivalen. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai pretes-postes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas, angket tanggapan dan keterlibatan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar meningkat di setiap aspek dengan kriteria cukup (68,18). Sebagian besar siswa (77,27%-95,45%) memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap model PBL dan terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran PBL. Penggunaan model PBL meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan rata-rata N-gain berkriteria sedang (67,98%). Rata-rata N-gain pada indikator kognitif C4 kelas eksperimen berbeda signifikan, sedangkan rata-rata N-gain pada indikator kognitif C2 tidak berbeda signifikan.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, lingkungan, model PBL

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determined the matter suitability with Basic Competence (BC) and contents of Science Process Skill (SPS) that implemented in student worksheets. The research design was simple descriptive, with purposive sampling technique. The samples were biology student worksheets of class X, XI and XII in semester 1. The quantitative data obtained from the scored quantity of the matter suitability with BC and indicators of SPS in student worksheets. The result showed that biology student worksheets had average of the matter suitability with BC was 92,2% and it had implemented contents of SPS.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesesuaian materi dalam Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dengan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) dan Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) yang dikembangkan dalam LKS. Desain penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian deskriptif sederhana, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah buku LKS Biologi kelas X, XI dan XII semester 1. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari banyaknya jumlah skor yang diperoleh dari hasil penskoran terhadap kesesuaian materi LKS dengan KD dan indikator muatan KPS yang dikembangkan dalam LKS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa LKS Biologi yang digunakan  SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Pringsewu memiliki tingkat kesesuaian materi LKS dengan KD rata-rata sebesar 92,2% dan termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi serta telah mengembangkan muatan KPS.Kata kunci: LKS, kesesuaian materi dengan kompetensi dasar, KPS

The research designs were non equivalent pretest – posttest. The research sample were students in X1 and X2 class that was selected by purposive sampling technique. Data of the research were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was gotten by students learning activity and questionnaire that was analyzed descriptively. The quantitative data were the average score of test, that was analyzed by t-test and U-test. The result showed that the students learning activity improve with an average of  79.33 which is in good criteria. The students learning outcomes also develop, with N-gain average score was 40.17. Thus, it can be concluded that the used of TPS model increase with of students learning activity and students learning result in contamination and preservation of environment material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan model pembelajaran TPS terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X2 yang dipilih secara  purposive  sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar siswa dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata berkriteria baik 79,33. Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain 40,17. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan model TPS berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaran dan pelestarian lingkungan.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar siswa, hasil belajar siswa, think pair share
