Abstract

BPS data for Mempawah Regency shows that aquaculture production in the Anjongan District is 163 tons/year. This production result is still lower compared to other sub-districts. One of the factors causing the not-yet-optimal effects of aquaculture production in the Anjongan District is the limited mastery of aquaculture technology. Biotechnology in the field of fisheries offers sustainable technology to increase fishery resources. This Community Service aims to conduct a Focus Group Discussion on plans to apply biotechnology in fish farming. In this activity, several applications of biotechnology in aquaculture were presented. The results of the discussion activities revealed several problems, including limited sources of clean water for fish farming, high costs for feed, and limited resources for implementation in the field of biotechnology. Feed is a top priority and an essential factor because fish can grow in a healthy, optimal, and quality manner.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the 'Usaha Maju Bersama' farmer group in Sungai Malaya Village, West Kalimantan, in producing taro flour as a healthy food commodity based on the creative economy. The methods employed include community education, science and technology diffusion, training, and the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. Data analysis was conducted by comparing pretest and posttest results given before and after the training. The activity resulted in a significant increase in partners' knowledge and skills in making taro flour, from 56% to 87%. The implication of this activity is that partners now possess flouring machines, enabling them to produce taro flour.

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is a global problem in the health sector. The level of antibiotic resistance that occurs can be caused by several influencing factors, including 6 isolates of rhizosphere bacteria that were successfully isolated from the rhizosphere of the Avicenia marina plant. The purpose of this study was to isolate and determine the best minimum inhibitory concentration of rhizosphere bacteria of the A. marina plant and its effectiveness in inhibiting pathogenic bacteria S. aureus. This study is a quantitative research method using the isolation and characterization of rhizosphere bacteria, antagonistic test of rhizosphere bacteria and test of the results of the extraction of filtrate of rhizosphere bacteria culture of A. marina plants. The results of this study were (1) five of the isolates of bacteria that were successfully isolated were included in the Bacilus type and 1 isolate of bacteria included in the Cocobasil type; (2) there were 3 of the 6 isolates that could inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria S. aureus with an inhibition range of 10.04-4.42 mm; (3) Rhizosphere bacterial isolate (TN 1) is an isolate with the best inhibition diameter and is categorized as strong, namely 10.04 mm; (4) ethyl acetate extract of Rhizosphere bacterial isolate culture filtrate (TN 1), has a minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.50% against pathogenic bacteria S.aureus with an inhibition diameter of 7.18 mm which is better when compared to the positive control using chloramphenicol.

Abstract

Poor nutritional status of the community leads to weak human development index (HDI) values. Increasing interest in fish consumption, which is rich in diverse nutritional sources, can be a solution to improved people nutritional status in coastal communities whose livelihood marine-dependent. Fish is known as a good source of a high quality protein. This nutritional source plays an important role to provide the nutrition of pregnant women and the development of toddlers. Food diversification by using aquaculture products is expected to be one solution to increased public interest in consuming fish and also could be away to increase the selling value of fishery products. This social service aims to provide information in utilizing the fishery products (i.e Catfish) as a food diversification materials to prevent stunting in the Pak Bulu village community, Anjongan sub-district, Mempawah Regency. The stages of this activity include 1) Survey and analysis of community conditions, 2) Stunting education and introduction to the process of food diversification fish based. This community Service activities are expected to increase knowledge and skills in processing fishery products. Therefore, it can increase fish consumption in the community and become one of the solution to prevent stunting and also could be a way to improve the community's economy.

Abstract

Merajut adalah salah satu keterampilan yang dapat dilakukan oleh kaum wanita, kapan dan di manapun. Kegiatan ini tidak membutuhkan dana yang besar dan bahannya pun mudah diperoleh. Hasil rajutan dapat bervariatif seperti tas, sepatu dan berbagai asesoris. Adanya permasalahan tentang kurangnya keterampilan pada ibu-ibu rumah tangga menjadi faktor pendorong tim dosen melakukan kegiatan ini. Kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah implementasi dari pengabdian masyarakat. Mitra kegiatan ini yaitu ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan PKK Desa Kenje. Tujuan kegiatan yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra sasaran melalui kegiatan merajut. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari beberapa tahapan yaitu ceramah dan praktik serta pendampingan. Ceramah meliputi wawasan dan manajemen wirausaha dan dilanjutkan dengan pengenalan rajutan dan praktik merajut serta pendampingan untuk melihat progres hasil kreativitas para peserta. Pendampingan dilakukan melalui Whatsapp untuk mengevaluasi perkembangan hasil rajutan para peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Umumnya peserta lebih tertarik membuat tas dibanding produk lainnya. Peserta berharap agar kegiatan seperti ini dapat terus dilakukan secara berkala.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mekanisme senyawa metabolit dari biji mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla) yang berperan sebagai antihiperglikemik, meskipun studi in vivo sebelumnya telah menunjukkan efektivitasnya dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada tikus (Rattus novergicus). Analisis ini dilakukan secara komputasi (in silico) melalui metode penambatan molekuler untuk melihat bagaimana senyawa-senyawa tersebut berinteraksi dengan enzim α-amilase. Penelitian ini menggunakan basis data PDB (ID: 1OSE) untuk mendapatkan reseptor enzim, sementara ligan uji yang digunakan adalah eriodictyol dan dihidropiridin. Sebagai pembanding, digunakan akarbosa. Sebelum penambatan, sifat farmakokinetik ligan diprediksi menggunakan aturan Lipinski. Proses penambatan molekuler dilakukan dengan perangkat lunak Autodock Vina. Hasilnya dianalisis berdasarkan energi ikatan (ΔG), konstanta inhibisi, dan jenis ikatan kimia yang terbentuk. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa semua ligan uji berpotensi sebagai agen antihiperglikemik. Secara khusus, ligan uji eriodictyol menunjukkan aktivitas penghambatan enzim α-amilase yang lebih baik daripada akarbosa, berdasarkan nilai ΔG dan %BSS.

Abstract

Meningkatnya permintaan dan beragamnya preferensi masyarakat terhadap produk kosmetik turut mendorong permintaan produk kosmetik berbasis bahan alami terus meningkat, sehingga dibutuhkan inovasi dalam pembuatan sabun mandi padat berbahan dasar alami. Selain berfungsi sebagai pembersih tubuh, sabun juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengharum ruangan maupun souvenir. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mentransfer pengetahuan mengenai teknologi pembuatan sabun natural soap-base dari Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) dan ekstrak Aloe vera kepada siswa kelas XI IPA di MAN 1 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyampaian materi secara teoritis melalui ceramah dan praktik langsung dengan metode cold-process. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 37 siswa kelas XI IPA MAN 1 Pontianak. Evaluasi pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai prinsip pembentukan sabun, dari 37,8% menjadi 78,3%, serta pengetahuan tentang bahan utama dan tambahan dalam sabun, dari 35,1% menjadi 75,7%. Partisipasi aktif dan tanggapan positif dari peserta menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan siswa serta menumbuhkan semangat kewirausahaan. Diharapkan kegiatan serupa dapat terus dikembangkan guna memperluas wawasan dan keterampilan siswa dalam bidang industri kosmetik berbasis bahan alami.

Abstract

Prostate cancer (Pca) is one type of cancer that attacks men. The risk factors for this cancer are age, genetics, lifestyle such as smoking, alcohol, a diet high in animal protein and low in fiber, genetics and vasectomy and occurs generally at the age of 50 years and over. Currently, the incidence of Pca has been found at the age of 40 years. This service activity is carried out to educate and increase the knowledge of the participants about PCa. The service activity was carried out in the hamlet of Mapung Buttu, Campalagian District and was attended by male farmers who were more than 40 years old. The dedication method uses lectures, which begins with a pre-test and daikhiri with a post-test. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of the participants as seen from the ability to respond during the post test. Based on the results of the activity, it was concluded that this activity was very useful, as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants. This activity went smoothly because of the support and cooperation between the service team and the partner.

Abstract

The abundance of mangoes during the harvest season, and the sour taste of the mangoes even though they are ripe and perishable in nature, the people of Kanje Village process the mangoes into sour. This tamarind is called Kaloko and is a mandatory spice used by the people in making Mandarese food, namely the smell of peapi. The problem found is that the mango acid produced is black in color making it less attractive and unfit for marketing. In fact, it is not uncommon to find that the acid that has been made is also moldy when stored for a long time. Overcoming this problem, the PKM team offers a solution to provide education and training on making mango tamarind which is attractive in color and resistant to fungus. The PKM method used is observation, education and practice of making mango tamarind. This activity was carried out in the homes of residents who often make mango sour. The PKM was carried out on Saturday, April 22, 2023, then the evaluation of the final result of mango acid was carried out on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The results of the PKM showed that the community was able to produce attractively colored mango acid. This shows that this PKM activity has been successful because it is proven to be able to improve partners' skills.

Abstract

Background: Kegiatan PkM ini dilakukan di Desa Sungai Malaya Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Mitra adalah petani nanas dilahan gambut Desa Sungai Malaya. Rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat menyebabkan nanas hanya dijual ataupun dikonsumsi dalam bentuk buah saja, tanpa adanya diversifikasi menjadi bentuk yang lebih inovatif. Tujuan kegiatan PkM ini yaitu mendorong kemandirian bangsa melalui swasembada pangan dengan cara meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam mengolah nanas berbasis zero waste yang bernilai ekonomi. Metode: Pendidikan masyarakat, difusi IPTEK, pelatihan dan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Hasil: Hasil PkM menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra dari 56% menjadi 88%. Selain itu, mitra juga telah mampu membuat produk berbahan nanas yaitu Tepache dan stik nanas. Tepache adalah minuman fermentasi nanas berbahan kulit dan bonggol nanas, sedangkan stik nanas menggunakan daging buah nanas, sehingga nanas tidak menghasilkan sampah atau zero waste. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini telah berhasil meningkatkan dan keterampilan mitra. Kegiatan ini berjalan lancar karena adanya dukungan dari mitra dan pemerintah di Desa Sungai Malaya. Diharapkan setelah kegiatan ini, peserta PkM dapat membuka usaha berupa olahan nanas yang bernilai ekonomi sehingga dapat meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga.
