Abstract

This study aims to explain the application of humanistic leadership values and their influence on the psychological well-being and performance of employees in a spiritual-based service organisation, namely Umi Muthmainah Berkah Umrah and Haji Travel in Surabaya. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to explore in depth the experiences and perceptions of leaders and employees. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analysed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that leaders apply a leadership style based on empathy, appreciation, and support for employees, thereby creating a harmonious, open, and trusting work atmosphere. Humanistic leadership has been proven to improve employees' psychological well-being, intrinsic motivation, and work loyalty. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of three main theories Humanistic Leadership, Psychological Well-Being, and Self-Determination in the context of religious service organisations, which emphasises the importance of spirituality as a reinforcing factor in the relationship between leadership and employee well-being.

Abstract

Kabupaten Banyuwangi adalah daerah pesisir yang didominasi pohon kelapa, salah satu manfaatnya sebagai bahan baku kerajinan. Desa Labanasem, Kabupaten Banyuwangi merupakan daerah UKM kerajinan berbahan kayu kelapa. Di antara produknya yakni cobek, ulek dan lain-lain. Produk kerajinan ini merupakan produk unggulan  sejak 1980. Hasil produk kerajinan masih dipasarkan tingkat lokal sehingga dari segi harga masih tergolong murah. Tingkat permintaan produk ini cukup tinggi, terbukti produksi terus meningkat tiap tahunnya. Peningkatan taraf ekonomi perajin masih belum signifikan. Salah satu penyebabnya karena penjualan masih di tingkat lokal sehingga hanya mendapatkan keuntungan yang sedikit. Terobosan teknologi untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis yakni dibuatnya inovasi sebagai pengembangan estetika dan branding dengan menggunakan mesin CNC Laser UV 3 axis. Mesin ini berfungsi membuat seni ukir laser sehingga tampilan produk lebih bagus dan branding akan lebih dikenal pasar yang lebih luas. Mesin CNC Laser UV 3 axis ini bekerja sesuai perintah program sehingga hasil produk yang bernilai seni estetika bisa menyesuaikan permintaan pasar.  Mesin ini dirancang sebaik mungkin sehingga pengerjaannya mudah, cepat, dan berkualitas sehingga bisa memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan ekonomi yang pada akhirnya bisa meningkatkan nilai jual hasil kerajinan. Secara tidak langsung, bisa berdampak kepada perkembangan Banyuwangi dan bisa meningkatkan daya tawar nasional.

Abstract

Research aim: This study examines the relationships between strategic flexibility, behaviour innovation, Employee engagement, Job satisfaction, and employee Performance within SMES in the clothing sector in East Java. It also provides empirical evidence of causal interactions among these variables. Method: An explanatory approach was employed with a sample of 160 employees from SMES in Bangkalan, Sidoarjo, Tulungagung, and Mojokerto, selected via cluster sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed using PLS-SEM with Smartpls 4. Research Finding: The findings show that strategic flexibility positively and significantly influences employee Performance and Job satisfaction. Behaviour innovation negatively impacts employee Performance but positively affects Job satisfaction. Employee engagement positively influences employee Performance but is not significant for Job satisfaction. Job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between strategic flexibility and employee Performance and fully mediates the relationship between behaviour innovation and employee Performance. Theoretical contribution: This study challenges existing assumptions about the link between Employee engagement and Job satisfaction, expanding understanding in the context of SMES. Practical implication: The findings suggest that SME managers should enhance strategic flexibility and focus on Job satisfaction to improve employee Performance while carefully managing behaviour innovation. Research Limitations: This study has several limitations. First, the study was only conducted on MSMES in the clothing sector in East Java. Second, the data collection method used a Likert-scale questionnaire. Third, the quantitative approach with PLS-SEM provides an understanding of causal relationships but does not explore other factors that may play a role.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has led to the increasing use of social media among elementary school students. This condition poses serious challenges, particularly regarding low levels of digital literacy and the prevalence of bullying behavior, both directly and through social media (cyberbullying). This community service program aims to improve students’ digital literacy, especially in understanding morals and ethics in using social media. The program was carried out in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation, targeting fourth to sixth-grade students. The partner in this activity was SDN Talun Kidul, involving the principal and teachers. The results of the program indicate positive changes among students. After the activity, students were able to distinguish between good and bad behavior, reduce the use of negative language, demonstrate mutual respect, and show the courage to reprimand peers engaged in bullying. The program concluded with an anti-bullying declaration as a collective commitment to creating a safe and conducive school environment. Thus, digital literacy socialization has proven effective in fostering students’ wisdom, empathy, and social responsibility. This program is recommended to be implemented sustainably by involving students, teachers, parents, and schools to build a positive culture in the use of social media.
