Abstract

These gender differences and abilities categorized by students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary School in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Indonesia) can understand the concept of SPUR dimension fractions (Skills, Property, Uses, and Representation) that is the focus of this study. Presently, it is to answer the study's neediness about gender differences in math performance recommended by the previous studies. To offer the novelty about the measurement of conceptual understanding in four dimensions because one dimension is not relevant to describe students' understanding comprehensively and deeply of mathematical concepts. This study was a qualitative descriptive that relies on the analysis of test participants' answers; it consists of three male students and three female students representing the high, medium, and low ability categories at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of Indramayu Regency. The students' participant is determined by purposive sampling. The analysis of the test participants' answers demonstrated the ability to understand the concept of fractions in the SPUR dimension of equality between male and female students in the same ability category. However, the students at every level of ability to achieve a different dimension. Male and female students in the high category achieved the dimensions of skills and property. Male and female students in the medium and low categories achieved skills. High-ability students and the medium category experienced an integer bias error using the integer property infractions. They perform arithmetic operations in the numerator and denominator separately as if they were independent integers. For this reason, students need to develop an understanding of concepts, especially on the dimensions of fraction properties, applications, and their representations, without being influenced by gender stereotypes. This development of understanding can be done through SPUR dimensional exercises that avoid gender bias, and teachers establish communication mathematics teaching in the classroom to engage students in both men and women.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in developing individual potential and enhancing quality of life, with numeracy skills being a key aspect of this process. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using the Wordwall application in mathematics learning to improve numeracy skills among students at SDN Renda. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of Wordwall significantly increased student engagement and motivation, with an average posttest score improvement of 20.4 points compared to the pretest. The application offers various quiz and game templates that make learning more interactive and engaging. However, challenges related to technology access limited the full implementation of the application. The discussion highlights that Wordwall is effective in enhancing mathematics understanding and numeracy skills, as well as increasing student interest in learning. In conclusion, Wordwall is a highly beneficial tool in mathematics education, and schools should provide technological support and training for teachers to maximize its benefits. The study recommends broader implementation of the Wordwall application to improve the quality of mathematics education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Upaya dalam menanamkanii nilaii cinta tanah air tidak mudah diomongkan ataui dimusyawarahkan. Tujuani dan materii dari nilaii cintai tanahi airi disekolah perlui direncanakan dengan matan g agar muncul peradabani barui yangi mengedepankani ikepentingan tanahi airi diatas kepentingani diri sendiri lalu dapat dibentuk kepribadiannya cerminkan nilai-nilai pancasilai terutamai saatt beradai dilingkungan sekolahi. Salah satunya merasa bangga dan mencintai produk-produk dalam negeri seperti pakaian, makanan, mainan dan produk domestik lainnya.Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kendala yang sering dihadapi oleh guru-guru saat menanamkan karakter cinta tanah air pada peserta didik di SD Negeri 54 Banda Aceh.Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini kualitatif.Subjek nya adalah guru di SD Negeri 54 Banda Aceh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi.Analisis data menggunakan Reduksi Data, Model Data (Data Display) dan Penarikan/Verifikasi Kesimpulan.Hasill penelitian menunjukkani guru-guru di SD negeri 54 Banda Aceh menghadapi kendala dalam penanaman karakter cinta tanah air yaitu keenam indikator dari karakter terebut, tidak dapat dimasukkan dalam seluruh mata pelajaran, seperti menyukai budaya nusantara, lrela iberkorban demii nusa bangsa, banggai berbangsai dani bertanaha air Indonesia, menempatkani kepentingani bangsai dani Negarai hanya sering ditanamkan dalam pelajaran tertentu saja. Sedangkan indikator penggunaani bahasai Indonesiai yangi baik idan benari tiak mengalami kendala, karena penggunaani bahasai Indonesia ini dapat diterapkan disaat proses pembelajaran semua mata pelajaran. Akan tetapi terdapat kendala dari lingkungan sekitar siswa, seperti lingkungan pergaulan siswa yang tidak mendukung terbentuknya karakter cinta tanah airr pada siswai.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru menghadapi kendala dalam menanamkan nilai karakter cinta tanah air dikarenakan terkendala dalam penyesuaian dengan mata pelajaran dan juga kondisi belajar siswa baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun lingkungan pergaulan

Abstract

This study examines politeness and impoliteness in Acehnese speech variations conveyed through various linguistic features, including honorifics, politeness markers, and respectful forms of address. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, commencing with observation in different social settings in Acehnese society to identify instances of polite and impolite speech. The data for this study consists of oral data obtained from 13 informants residing in North Aceh, Aceh Pidie, Aceh Besar, and South West Aceh. Data were collected using direct observation techniques and free recall techniques. To ensure well-documented data collection, the researcher recorded the data in manual notes and electronic recordings. Data analysis was conducted using contextual methods. The results demonstrate that in Acehnese language, the politeness and grammaticality of an utterance are highly dependent on the region of use or dialect. Generally, in Acehnese, language is considered polite if the utterance uses proclitics corresponding to the actor in a sentence. However, in the South West Aceh dialect, this rule does not apply. In this dialect, language politeness does not rely on the regular use of proclitics. Proclitics are usually not used in speech and should be attached to the verb, given in the repetition of the subject as the doer of the action. Additionally, politeness in this language is highly dependent on pronouns. Conversely, the rules for using honorific pronouns in other dialects do not measure politeness and grammaticality.

Abstract

This study aims to identify variations in the use of personal pronoun agreements in the Acehnese language based on a sociolinguistic approach, by focusing on the North Aceh dialect. A descriptive-qualitative method was used and data were collected through interviews. These interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using the sociolinguistic approach by structure and semantics. The results of the study showed that the personal pronouns of the Acehnese language are influenced by social factors such as age, social status, and familiarity. In the context of the age factor, there are variations in the use of personal pronoun agreements related to communication patterns between the younger and older generations. In social interactions with differences in social status, the use of personal pronoun agreements that reflect respect and recognition of social status is more dominant. Meanwhile, in familiarity, the use of more formal or informal personal pronouns depends on the degree of familiarity between the speakers. Overall, variations in the use of agreement personal pronouns in the Acehnese language are influenced by sociolinguistic factors that reflect social dynamics, cultural norms, and relationships between individuals. Understanding these variations can provide better insight into social interactions, social hierarchies, and familiarity norms in Acehnese society.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengembangan karakter siswa SMA Negeri 12 Makassar melalui proses pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia yang didukung oleh kegiatan asistensi mengajar. Program studi Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di Universitas Negeri Makassar secara aktif memperbarui kurikulum dan melaksanakan kegiatan asistensi mengajar selama satu semester, yang meliputi pengajaran di kelas, pembekalan materi drama, dan pementasan drama. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik dan keterampilan berbahasa mahasiswa, tetapi juga berperan dalam membentuk karakter dan moral siswa melalui penanaman nilai-nilai etika, empati, dan keberagaman. Pendidikan karakter di Indonesia, sebagaimana diatur dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2003, menekankan pembentukan individu beriman, bertakwa, berakhlak mulia, dan bertanggung jawab, dimana sastra Indonesia berperan penting dalam menanamkan nilai moral dan pengalaman hidup. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karakter melalui pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra yang didukung kegiatan asistensi mengajar mampu menghasilkan generasi muda yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik tetapi juga memiliki moral dan kemampuan sosial yang baik.

Abstract

This study aims to explore patterns of reflective thinking in pre-service teachers’ oral communication during microteaching sessions. It employed a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design. The participants were sixth-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program enrolled in a microteaching course. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and video documentation of teaching practices, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed five key patterns: (1) internal selection of main ideas prior to speaking, (2) a tendency to lose the main ideas during elaboration, (3) the significant influence of content mastery on communication structure, (4) limitations in idea development, and (5) irregularities in oral delivery. These patterns suggest that students have not fully engaged in reflective thinking processes when speaking in front of the class. The study concludes that integrating a cognitive-reflective approach into microteaching training is essential to enhance students' ability to manage ideas and construct systematic, meaningful communication. This research contributes to the development of more reflective and idea-focused learning designs for pre-service teacher education.

Abstract

This study examines mystical elements in Teungku Don’s character in Arafat Nur’s novel Percikan Darah di Bunga, exploring their interplay with Acehnese spirituality, social conflict, and cultural identity. Employing a descriptive qualitative design with mimetic and expressive approaches, primary data were drawn from the novel’s text and supplemented by relevant secondary sources. Data were collected through literature review and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s three-stage model (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing). Findings reveal seven dimensions of mystical representation: (1) an innate spiritual aura; (2) dhikr practices enabling transcendental experiences and soul release; (3) perception of supernatural phenomena; (4) telepathic insight into others’ thoughts and feelings; (5) prophetic visions through dreams; (6) eccentric behavior as a social marker of mysticism; and (7) the limits of mystical power in shaping conflict outcomes. These dimensions not only reflect entrenched spiritual traditions within Acehnese society but also serve as a literary vehicle to probe themes of social tension, identity formation, and the search for meaning amid violence. The study contributes to literary and cultural scholarship by demonstrating how mystical motifs articulate and negotiate socio-cultural dynamics in Aceh.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi dasar siswa di wilayah 3T (tertinggal, terdepan dan terluar), termasuk di Kabupaten Bima, menjadi tantangan serius dalam dunia pendidikan. Sebagian besar siswa belum mencapai level kecakapan minimum dalam membaca, sementara pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan kurang mempertimbangkan keragaman kemampuan serta latar belakang budaya siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kapasitas pemangku kepentingan pendidikan dalam meningkatkan literasi dasar melalui pendekatan berbasis data dan budaya lokal. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan partisipatoris berbasis komunitas, yang mencakup tujuh tahapan: rembuk pendidikan, pemetaan data sekolah dan desa, sosialisasi lintas sektor, pelatihan fasilitator daerah, uji coba modul literasi berbasis kemampuan siswa, refleksi dan revisi modul, serta advokasi kebijakan. Lokasi kegiatan difokuskan di 25 sekolah dasar dan 9 desa di Kabupaten Bima. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan literasi berbasis data mampu menghasilkan profil belajar siswa dan desa secara lebih akurat. Modul literasi yang dikembangkan secara kontekstual terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran, memungkinkan guru mengidentifikasi kesulitan belajar siswa, dan menumbuhkan antusiasme siswa dalam proses membaca. Kesimpulannya, pengabdian ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan literasi berbasis data dan budaya lokal merupakan strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi dasar secara inklusif, relevan, dan berkelanjutan di wilayah marginal seperti Kabupaten Bima. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, FKIP, USK, terhadap efektivitas metode SQ3R dalam kegiatan membaca kritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, FKIP, USK yang telah mengikuti mata kuliah keterampilan membaca dan menggunakan metode SQ3R dalam kegiatan membaca berjumlah 35 orang. Sedangkan, data dalam penelitian ini adalah catatan hasil penerapan teknik membaca SQ3R dan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penerapan teknik tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan dengan menggunakan google form untuk menggali persepsi, pendapat, dan pengalaman mereka terhadap metode SQ3R. Selanjutnya, observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati proses pembelajaran membaca menggunakan SQ3R, baik dalam aktivitas kelas maupun diskusi kelompok. Terakhir, dokumentasi berupa tugas mahasiswa yang relevan untuk memperkuat temuan dari wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh mahasiswa yang menjadi responden memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penerapan metode SQ3R dalam kegiatan membaca kritis. Secara umum, mahasiswa memahami langkah-langkah SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, dan Review) dengan baik dan dapat mendeskripsikan tahapan tersebut dengan rinci
