Abstract

Indonesia is known as an archipelago of islands with a wide variety of cultures and natural beauty, providing many options for tourists to visit. This research aims to investigate the influence of guest experiences on guest loyalty within the accommodation sector, focusing on Indonesian Generation Z. The study employs a quantitative method, utilizing an online survey distributed through Google Forms, to gather data from 146 valid respondents who had stayed in Indonesian accommodations within a year. The data was processed using partial least squares structural equation modeling with Smart PLS 3.2.9. The results reveal that guest experiences in pre-trip, on-trip, and post-trip directly influence guest satisfaction. Guest satisfaction significantly influences guest loyalty. Moreover, guest loyalty is indirectly influenced by guest experiences (in pre-trip, on-trip, and post-trip) that are mediated by guest satisfaction. Guest experiences in pre-trip, on-trip, and post-trip have no direct influence towards guest loyalty. These findings highlight the importance of providing excellent services and products before, during, and after the trip to increase guest loyalty through guest satisfaction. The results contribute to the development of effective strategies for enhancing guest loyalty and satisfaction, ultimately benefiting accommodation providers and the broader hospitality industry.

Abstract

One of the most important parts of the tourist industry all around the world is cultural tourism. Through the utilization of cultural tourism, tourism villages are able to utilize it as a source of income for the community. This study's objective was to investigate and evaluate several approaches to the promotion of cultural tourism in Kutu Wetan Village, Ponorogo. Participatory observation and in-depth interviews were utilized as components of a qualitative data collecting approach for the purpose of gathering the aforementioned information. The research team conducted interviews with the chief of Kutu Wetan Village, members of the surrounding communities, and officials from the regional administration. In addition, researchers participate in cultural events in Ponorogo, such as the Reog Ponorogo Festival, in order to gauge the community's level of interest in maintaining its cultural tourism and preserve its traditions. The findings demonstrated that cultural tourism plays an important role among the many goods and services offered by the tourist industry. On the other hand, there is still a need to improve support from both the government and the community through promoting involvement in the development of tourist initiatives. The growing sense of pride that local people have in their culture can have an effect on the competitive advantage that sustainable tourism enjoys.

Abstract

The decline in visitors during the COVID-19 outbreak is one of the factors affecting the profitability of tourist destinations. This condition is challenging for developing tourist villages, especially the Hegarmukti tourist village. Several activity restrictions during the COVID-19 outbreak have made community-based tourism development programs experience obstacles. Through this community service activity, the 4C model analysis (Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce) is to be applied to optimize the growth of the Hergarmukti tourist village. The activity begins with a semi-formal interview process and observations to gather information. Through this activity, it was revealed that some potential has not been exploited, especially in terms of natural and cultural tourism. Socialization activities by conducting capacity-building workshops for preserving natural ecosystems through waste management were conducted with the Situ Rawa Binong residents. Besides, cultural promotion activities through local art performances displayed by the Cahaya Gumilar Art Gallery also attract tourists. To run a sustainable tourism village, the community requires soft skills training in tourism and marketing. The study also offers several possible tourist attractions to stimulate the local economy.
