Abstract

Company X is a paving block molding machine fabrication company in Surabaya. However, the machine still has some shortcomings because it is still conventional or manually operated. Some of these shortcomings, such as being still prone to human error and being less consistent when operating, can affect the results of the amount of production. From this phenomenon, automation is very important in the industrial world. Therefore, by referring to previous phenomenon, through this research, an automatic control system is made on paving block molding machine using PLC. The results showed that PLC succeeded in developing a system that works automatically on the machine. Then, the ladder diagram used several instructions, including interlock, timer, counter, and set reset according to how the machine works. Then, the PLC-based automatic control system has a shorter cycle time than the original manual machine. Cycle time has decreased by 15.4%. From this decrease in cycle time, if simulated related to production capacity, an automatic control system can increase production per hour by 300 pcs more than the manually operated machine.

Abstract

This study aims to create a baby incubator simulator equipped with an internet of things (IoT)-based temperature control system using Arduino UNO. We use a DHT22 sensor to measure temperature and humidity, as well as fuzzy logic to ensure more accurate and responsive temperature control. The Thinger.io platform enables real-time monitoring and control of the incubator, providing flexibility and ease of supervision. With fuzzy logic, the temperature control system can handle changes and uncertainties in the incubator environment, providing a smoother response compared to traditional on-off methods. Testing shows that this system has a very low error rate, with an error value of only 0.97%, meaning that the measured temperature is almost identical to the actual conditions inside the incubator. Additionally, the authors used mice as a model for premature infants in the testing. The results showed that the mice's body temperature increased gradually and stably in line with the incubator conditions, reaching the desired temperature within 90 minutes. This demonstrates that our temperature control system is capable of maintaining optimal environmental conditions for premature infants.

Abstract

In the industrial world, friction between machine elements such as bearings can affect the performance and service life of components, making lubrication systems based on tribology principles very important. This study analyzes the selection of lubricants for SKF BT2-8131 A roller bearings in a Vertical Roller Mill owned by PT. Solusi Bangun Indonesia, Tuban Factory, with the aim of determining a better lubricant than before and identifying the type of lubricant film formed. The research process involved collecting machine operational data and lubricant specifications, as well as calculating the kappa value and Streibeck curve to determine the type of lubricant layer, such as boundary, mixed, or full film lubrication. The results showed that Pertamina Masri RG 460 lubricant with a kappa value of 1.29 was selected because it had adequate technical performance and was more economical, although Mobil SHC 600 460 lubricant with a kappa value of 1.73 was also recommended if technical performance was the main priority. The results were validated by calculating the predicted bearing life to ensure optimal efficiency and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Basmalah method (Learning the Qur’an While Playing for More Enjoyable and Easier Learning) in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in the Qur’an Hadith subject for class IX.C at MTsN 4 Bone. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 26 students. Data collection techniques used were observation and tests. The results showed that the implementation of the Basmalah method improved students’ motivation and learning outcomes. This can be seen from the increase in learning motivation from 60.2% in the pre-cycle to 74.2% in cycle I and further increased to 85.5% in cycle II. In addition, students’ learning outcomes also improved, with the average score increasing from 59.8 in the pre-cycle to 77.1 in cycle I and 81.7 in cycle II. These improvements indicate that the Basmalah method is effective in creating an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning process. Thus, it can be concluded that the BASMALAH method is effective in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in the Qur’an Hadith subject.

Abstract

Light fishing techniques are widely used to improve marine fish catches by adjusting the spectrum and intensity of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to attract specific species. Grouper (Epinephelus spp.) are known to respond well to red light, although the optimal light intensity remains unclear. This study proposes a dual system consisting of a pulse-width modulation (PWM)-based red LED brightness controller and an artificial intelligence (AI) fish detection module using the YOLOv4 algorithm. LED brightness was varied at duty cycles of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 (1 kHz), producing luminous flux values between 120 and 650 lm. Field experiments conducted at the Pamekasan coast using 10 grouper samples showed that 80% of fish aggregated at a duty cycle of 150 (~420 lm at 1.5 m). ANOVA results (p0.05) indicated significant differences among light intensities, with the highest attraction observed at this level. These findings suggest the existence of an optimal light intensity threshold. Further studies with larger samples and multi-site experiments are required to validate these results and evaluate ecological impacts.
