Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is an integrated market "Chili Rawit" in Bengkulu Province. The districts analyzed were Rejang Lebong, Kepahiang, Kaur, Mukomuko and Bengkulu Utara. The purpose of this research is to analyze the horizontal market integration of Cayenne Pepper or "Chili Rawit". The data used is secondary data, namely data on the price of cayenne pepper in Bengkulu Province per month and was taken for the last 3 years, from 2016 to 2018. The analysis was carried out descriptively for price behavior and to analyze horizontal market integration using the Eviews 7 application shows that the price development in the variation in the price of cayenne pepper that occurs between Rejang Lebong Regency and the other four districts is high and unstable, the price development in these five districts fluctuates due to factors influencing demand and supply, while the horizontal market integration of cayenne pepper in Bengkulu Province is already integrated. Based on the results of market integration analysis between the price of cayenne pepper in Rejang Lebong Regency as a producer and in Kepahiang, Kaur, Mukomuko District, Bengkulu utara as retailers in Bengkulu Province, it shows that there is integration. This is indicated by the results of the cointegration test on the residual value of the regression of the two stationary variables. Keywords: Price Behavior, Horizontal Market Integration.

Abstract

Highlight ResearchPrices are often a signal for producers to produce or market products, including the price of tuna.Four price behaviors, namely trends, seasonal variation, variability and instability, and market integration, are important to study in designing business development plans.Tuna prices in Indonesia tend to have a statistically positive trend.Tuna prices tend to be stable, or do not have high variability, throughout the observations and indicate a low price risk. The price of tuna fish in each port is formed independently and is not influenced and influences each other between the markets observed.AbstractPrices of agricultural and fisheries products have always been a concern not only by producers and consumers but also by the government in designing policies to control and stabilize these prices to protect the poor. Therefore, a study of price behavior is crucial to be scrutinized more deeply and comprehensively. This research is aimed at examining and analyzing tuna (Thunnus spp.) price behavior in terms of their seasonal, trend, variability, and instability behavior as well as their market integration. For this purpose, monthly data of tuna prices from 2011:1 to 2019:12 in five tuna production centers (provinces) in Indonesia, including North Sulawesi, West Papua, Aceh, North Maluku, and Bali, at the national level were applied.  It was found that tuna prices have a positive trend and are statistically significant, excluding in West Papua. The study also found that price variability and instability were insignificant during observations. The study also concluded that the tuna price in every single province in Indonesia is formed independently.

Abstract

Cultivation of vaname shrimp ponds is conducted by PT. DPP exclusively, but many other companies are also involved in the vaname shrimp cultivation business center, which creates competition. To compete with other shrimp pond businesses, a marketing strategy is needed. The methods used are EFAS (External Factor Analysis Summary) and IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary) analysis, SWOT analysis, and QSPM analysis. Based on the results of the SWOT matrix analysis, it is evident that the strategic position is in quadrant (I) where the strength factor is greater than the weakness factor and the opportunity factor is greater than the threat factor, thus indicating an aggressive strategy (Growth-Oriented Strategy). This means that PT DPP vannamei shrimp company is in a potential position, making it highly likely to continue doing business optimally. The prioritized alternative marketing strategies for vaname shrimp are: 1) maintaining good relations with consumers by fulfilling consumer orders according to demand, and 2) utilizing adequate facilities and infrastructure to maintain products in accordance with sales standards.

Abstract

Sarana Mandiri Mukti Corporation’s tea harvesting mothers are driven by the family's economic situation. Women tea harvesters (domestic work) support their families financially in addition to being housewives. Tea plucking housewives come from diverse locations near the tea estates. Harvesters' daily activities fall into four categories: productive, home, social, and rest. The purpose of this study is to assess the working hours of female tea harvesters and the factors that impact them. The descriptive technique was the primary methodology employed in this study. Multiple Linear Regression is a technique for data analysis. According to research data, tea harvesters often labor nine hours every day. Women who harvest tea can spend nine hours per day (37.5%) on productive activities, three hours on homework (12.5%), four hours on social events (16.67%), and eight hours resting (33.33%). Tea Picker Revenue (X1TPR), Number of Family Dependents (X3NFD), Age (X4AGE), Education Level (X5EDL), and employment Experience (X6EXP) all impact the length of employment of female tea harvesters. Partially Tea Picker Revenue (X1TPR), Total Family Revenue (X2TFR), Number of Family Dependents (X3NFD), Age (X4AGE), and Education Level (X5EDL), but Total Family Income (X2TFR) and Work Experience (X6EXP) have no effect on the work of female tea harvesters.

Abstract

This research investigates the challenges faced by smallholder oil palm plantations on peatlands in Mukomuko Regency. It focuses on stakeholder networking and institutional approaches to ensure the sector sustainability. Qualitative data was collected through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and field observations, capturing stakeholder perspectives and experiences. Quantitative data was gathered via surveys targeting smallholder farmers and stakeholders, analyzing power, interest, and sentiment. Key data sources include farmers, the Village government, Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL), and the Replanting Chairperson. The data analysis employs a descriptive approach, incorporating the Total Weighting of Degree Among Actors method to evaluate the strength of stakeholder networks. This method highlights the collaboration, influence, and connectivity among stakeholders. The findings reveal that the Village government, particularly the Village Head and Secretary, plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability through collaboration. Strengthening stakeholder networks, including better coordination between the Village Head, Secretary, farmers, and extension officers, is recommended to enhance the sustainable management of oil palm plantations on peatlands.

Abstract

Agriculture as a vital role in the Indonesian economy in meeting all the basic needs of the community requires supporting factors in the production process. Fertilizers have an important role in increasing agricultural productivity, so it is necessary to distribute fertilizers evenly throughout the region. PT Sang Hyang Seri (Persero) Bengkulu marketing branch office is a subsidiary of a state-owned company that is a distributor of non-subsidized fertilizers in the Bengkulu region. This research was conducted using data tabulation and table matrix methods with data obtained from observations and interviews. This research shows that PT Sang Hyang Seri (Persero) Bengkulu marketing branch office distributes three types of non-subsidized fertilizers in the form of SP-18 Bintang Kuda Laut, KCl Ex Belarus, and NPK Jatiwangi with two marketing alternatives, which are directly to farmers and through kiosk intermediaries. In addition, in its distribution there are five obstacles experienced, namely, 1) price competition; 2) uncertain availability of non-subsidized fertilizer stocks; 3) farmers' purchasing decisions; 4) still lack of maximum promotion; and 5) still lack of human resources.
