Abstract

The research was conducted in Desa Bandung Baru, Subdistrict Kabawetan Kepahiang Regency Bengkulu Province. The purpose of this study were : 1) To Analyze the financial feasibility of arabica coffee farm in village of Bandung Baru subdistrict Kabawetan Kepahiang regency Bengkulu Province from the financial aspect, 2) To Calculate the payback period and the level of sensitivity against the declaine in Arabica coffee farm production, price reductions, increased investment costs, operating costs and maintenance. Determination of respondent carried out using Stratified Random Sampling, data consist of primary data and secondary data. The number of respondent in this study were 40 samples. The results of this study indicate that the views of financial aspects of Arabica coffee farm worth the effort, this is apparent from the Net B/C is 2,17 (>1), Gross B/C value is 1,28 (>1), PV”/K value is 2,11 (>1), NPV of Rp. 18.847.733 and IRR value is 26,60 %. Sensitivity analysis shows that if there was increase in production 29%, price of production decreased 22% and decrease production 22%.

Abstract

The successful of Bengkulu Regional Development Project was very determined by the society’s participation in all of the project activities. This research aimed to analyse satisfaction level felt by the society as the effect of participative communication in BRDP activities.   The research was conducted in Village of Pondok Kubang Sub District of Pondok Kelapa District of Central Bengkulu. Sampling was conducted by Simple Random Sampling, number of respondents that would be collected as many as 25 respondents.  The result showed satisfaction level that significant to the participative communication in BRDP activities. Keywords: satisafction level, partisipave communication, BRDP

Abstract

This study is aimed  at determining the revenue, efficiency and marketing of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris) farming in Kampung Tempuran, Trimurjo District, Central Lampung District, Lampung Province with a total of 27 respondents who were selected by using census method. Revenue is obtained bydeducting the total income by  the total cost, efficiency is the ratio (ratio) between income and total cost. Watermelon marketing is analysed by identifying marketing channel from the producer to the end consumer  and by estimating the marketing margin of watermelon on each marketing channel. Marketing margin is estimated by subtracting the selling price with buying price. The results showed that the average farm income of at Rp.237.506.694/Ut/MT watermelon or watermelon farm efficiency Rp.34.852.801/Ha/MT. Revenue Cost Ratio is obtained 3.81meaning that  melon farming is  efficient or profitable.  There are three marketing channels.  Based on one of marketing channels studied, it is found that marketing margin of watermelon from farmers as  producers  to  wholesalers s is Rp. 784/Kg. From the wholesaler to the retailer, the marketing margin   is Rp. 1500, - / Kg.Keywords: farm income, efficiency, marketing channels, marketing margins.

Abstract

Some earlier results showed that there were 43% of the families belonging to the famine did not get help from the local community when food shortages. By looking at these conditions, this study was designed to examine how fishermen communication patterns in their interaction with the social environment in order to achieve food security in the household. Respondents were drawn from a group of fishermen called the Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) in Pulau Baai. From an interview with the head of a group of fishermen, the number of fishermen using small boats is 24 households. This research results showed there were two fishermen communication patterns in discussing household food security issues, namely, the interpersonal communication and group communication. Interpersonal communication patterns involving informations from other fishermen. Messages are widely discussed is everything associated with their fishing fishing effort. Among the existing group communication, group discussion fishermen have an impact on the fishing action in carrying out their fishing effort. Advances in fishery business can increase revenue and will also have an impact on the family's food security.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are 1) to analyze TBS marketing aspect in Bengkulu Province that inflence by TBS accept and Demand. 2) to analyze technical aspect of 1.000 hectare palm oil plantation enlargement. 3) to analyze financial aspect of 1.000 hectare palm oil plantation enlargement. The research in PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi used case method and supported by literatures study. he result of this research show that TBS marketing aspect in Bengkulu Province promised enough which increases TBS production. Technical aspect show enlargement of 1.000 hectare palm oil plantation is proper to do. From financial aspect with 18 % discount factor show gross B/C 1,65, NPV Rp. 18.574.764.528 and IRR 19,06 %, is proper to do.

Abstract

The successful  of Bengkulu Regional Deoelopmeni   Project  was very determined    by  the society participation   in  all of the project activities. Without their participation,   those activities would not  be done as  the expectation.   In  order to  optimize the society's participation  in the development  project  (BRDP),  a good participative  communication   was needed to create a feedback  between the people involved in BRDP and the society. This research is aimed to analyze:  a) participating  on communication   in BRDP process,  b) the factors  influenced  the participation  between  the society and facilitator  in BRDP activities. The community participatory  communication   in the planning stage had a real connection with ability.  The community participatory  communication  in the stage of process was very connected with the capability changer too. The members of UPKD had given chances to ask questions,  opinions,  and suggestions   connected  with BRDP activities in Pondok  Kubang village, but the low of education,  experience, and financial capital of the society resulted  in their low participation  in BRD P activities. The low capability also reduced their motivation to participate.  The community  participatory  communication  in the stage of evaluation  had a real relation  with the honesty  changer.  In this stage, the community expected  the honesty UPKD and  transparency   in  case "who" has to get the right to get  the fund.    The community's dissatisfaction   toward the unhonestg UPKD member  in case of the facility development  projects  in Pondok  Kubang  village  has reduced participative  communication between the UPKD members and the communitf.

Abstract

Research titled optimization combination cultivation of fish catfish (Clarias sp) and patin (Pangasius pangasius) in the Kuro Tidur Village Subdistrict Argamakmur North Bengkulu Regency, aims to understand the large income levels and combination cultivation of catfish and patin fish in the pool belonging to Mr. Azmi Nur in the Kuro Tidur Village subdistrict Argamakmur North Bengkulu Regency condition steady and profit maximum. The determination of location and respondents in this research is deliberately (purposive) that is a unit of the business of cultivating fishes belonging to Mr. Azmi Nur located in the Kuro Tidur Village Subdistrict Argamakmur North Bengkulu Regency, with the business owners produces product more than one, which is kinds of fish catfish and patin fish. Instrument the analysis used is income analysis and linear programming analysis to know the optimal fish combination and give benefits maximum. After analyzed the results of operating income cultivation of fish belonging to Mr. Azmi Nur in 10 months production activities is Rp 1.061.610.350,02. With contribution of income from production of fish catfish Rp 528.553.700,00 and patin fish Rp 533.056.650,02. And a combination of optimal within 10 months production to cultivation of catfish is 15220,29 square meters and not cultivate patin fish, contributing margin maximum Rp 1.527.393.000,-. Resources overgrowth is broad pond 779,7139 square meters and 9075,394 working hours labor. As for resources any excess can economy is broad the pool of 779,7139 square meters and working hours jobs for 9075,394 hours.

Abstract

Bengkulu Province develop Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas (FSVA) which is a very significant tool in planning and decision making to reduce the gap of food security in Bengkulu Province.  This research was conducted in Bengkulu Province using descriptive methods.  The data used is secondary data collected from literature relating to food security and food insecurity in Bengkulu Province. FSVA can detect food security and food insecurity conditions is based on 9 indicators, a) normative consumption ratio, b) The percentage of population under the poverty line, c) the number of villages with no public transportation access, d) the percentage of households without electricity access, e) life expectation, f) illiterated women, g) under height toddlers, h) households without clean water access, and the last i) the percentage households far from healthy access.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze  1) the structure of cassava farmer household revenue, and 2) the distribution of cassava farmer household revenue in Sitiharjo Village, Tugumulyo Subdistrict, Musi Rawas District. The 50 respondent of this research was taken by Slovin method.  This research was conducted on November to December 2017. The results showed that the greatest source of revenue is from off-farm activities, amounting to 46.78%. The unequal level of distribution of cassava farmers' household revenue based on the Gini Ratio (GR) on the source of revenue from on-farm is classified as low inequality with a GR index of 0.29, non-cassava farming (on farm) is classified as high inequality with GR index is 0.80, off-farm is classified as high inequality with a GR index of  0.57, non-farm is classified as high with a GR index of 0.67 and the GR index of all cassava farmer households is 0.39 which is classified as moderate. Based on the criteria of the World Bank (World Bank), cassava farmer households are measured by the share of revenue owned by 40 percent of the population with the low revenue group, which is for the source of revenue from cassava farming receiving 22.92 percent (low category), non-cassava farming. received 0.00 percent (high category), off-farm received 3.10 percent (high category), non-farm received 0.00 percent (high category) and the total of all cassava farmer household revenues received 12.43 percent (medium category).

Abstract

Revitalization is an alternative path that must be taken by traditional markets in order to compete in the globalization era. The role of traditional markets will continue to be degraded and reduced if adequate facilities are not immediately repaired. This is due to the increasing number of modern markets emerging so that with the revitalization, it is expected that traditional markets can compete with modern markets. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the traditional market revitalization program in Bengkulu City and its relationship to revenue, number of consumers, working hours, and user fees. This research was conducted intentionally with the purposive sampling method. Respondents in the study amounted to 55 people spread over three traditional markets in Bengkulu City, namely Panorama Market, Minggu Market, and Barukoto Market. The results of the study show that the overall revitalization program for traditional markets in Bengkulu City is quite effective. Based on correlation analysis, variable acceptance, number of consumers, and working hours have a positive correlation to the effectiveness of the traditional market revitalization program in Bengkulu City. Meanwhile, another variable, namely user fees, has no correlation with the effectiveness of the traditional market revitalization program in Bengkulu City.
