Abstract

Ornamental plants are cultivated or grown for their aesthetic value, including the beauty of their flowers, leaves, or the entire plant. These plants are commonly found in home gardens or yards. The development of ornamental plant farming requires the role of agricultural institutions. Agricultural institutions play crucial role in modernization of agriculture. This study aims to understand institutional system, the role of agricultural institutions, and the impact of the Tani Makmur Farmer Group Association on ornamental plant farmers in Nglurah Village. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach in Nglurah Village. Informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The study involved 14 informants, including farmers group association stakeholders, agricultural officers, and ornamental plant traders. Validity was ensured through source and method triangulation, and data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis method. The results showed that Nglurah Village has an institutional system that supports the sustainability of ornamental plant farming. Farmers group association in Nglurah Village has procedures, management, and roles. Farmers group association in Tawangmangu Sub-district plays various roles in developing ornamental plant farming, including acting as a liaison between farmer groups and the government, providing farming capital, offering information or facilitation to groups, and establishing partnerships with other business units. These roles have social impacts on farmers, such as improved relationships and harmony, as well as economic impacts, including easier access to capital. There is a need to enhance each institution to ensure that the management system operates more effectively and achieves the goals of the Tani Makmur Farmer Group Association.

Abstract

Cyber extension is a website-based application that provides information related to agriculture. Field agricultural extension workers (PPL) in Bima Regency still have not optimized the cyber extension function to share information. This research aims to analyze the influence of PPL and cyber extension innovation characteristics on the use of cyber extension by PPL in Bima Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach, and data analysis uses multiple linear regression tests. The research results show that age (X1) and formal education (X2) do not affect the use of cyber extension by PPL in Bima Regency. Non-formal education (training) (X3) and characteristics of cyber extension innovation (X4) have a positive effect on the use of cyber extension by PPL in Bima Regency. Thus, the intensity of cyber training can be increased to 4 times a year. Emphasizing the aspect of writing articles, the information shared can be developed so that it can vary in the form of video, audio in the form of podcasts, and also documentation in the form of photos of activities.

Abstract

Mothers are important figures in realizing family happiness, but it is not easy to achieve if the mother herself is not happy. A happy mother will be more optimal in carrying out her role inside and outside the home. Gardening or farming has been proven to affect happiness. However, not everyone has enough private land to carry out these activities. This Yard Land Utilization Program was implemented to increase the happiness of mothers. The activity was attended by 32 administrators/members of PKK RW 14, including 17 cadres of the Surya Alam Women Farmers Group. The activity began with a briefing of materials delivered at the RW 14 Nusukan Multipurpose Building. It continued utilizing the yard land on the empty land in the RW 14 environment. The practice was accompanied by assistance from the UNS Community Service Team. The next activity was plant maintenance through routine watering and fertilization. Data collection with the Mother's Happiness Scale (Reliability 0.798) was conducted before and after the program's implementation. Data analysis with quantitative descriptive results showed an increase in happiness in mothers by 4.91 after participating in the yard utilization activity program. This activity can be one way that can be applied to support maternal happiness.ABSTRAKIbu menjadi sosok penting dalam mewujudkan kebahagiaan keluarga, namun hal itu sulit dicapai jika ibu sendiri tidak merasa bahagia. Ibu yang bahagia akan lebih optimal menjalankan perannya, baik di dalam atau di luar rumah. Berkebun atau bercocok tanam terbukti berpengaruh pada kebahagiaan. Namun tidak semua orang memiliki lahan pribadi yang cukup luas untuk melakukan kegiatan tersebut. Program Pemanfaatan Lahan Pekarangan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kebahagiaan para ibu. Kegiatan diikuti sebanyak 32 pengurus/anggota PKK RW 14, termasuk 17 diantaranya merupakan Kader Kelompok Wanita Tani Surya Alam. Kegiatan diawali dengan pembekalan materi yang disampaikan di Gedung Serba Guna RW 14 Nusukan, dan dilanjutkan praktik pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan di lahan kosong yang berada di lingkungan RW 14. Praktik tersebut disertai pendampingan dari Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat UNS. Kegiatan selanjutnya pemeliharaan tanaman melalui penyiraman rutin dan pemupukan. Pengumpulan data dengan Skala Kebahagiaan Ibu (Reliabilitas 0.798) yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan program. Analisis data dengan deskriptif kuantitatif, dan hasilnya menunjukkan ada peningkatan kebahagiaan pada ibu sebesar 4,91 setelah mengikuti program kegiatan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan. Kegiatan ini dapat direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu cara yang dapat diterapkan untuk menunjang kebahagiaan ibu.

Abstract

Utilizing household yards as a sustainable source of family food has significant potential in strengthening household food security. Optimizing the household yards into sustainable food areas is one of the community empowerment strategies, particularly for housewives, to increase access to nutritious food while creating opportunities to boost family income. Thiswomen's empowerment program aims to expand the knowledge and skills of the Dasa Wisma (Dawis) Melati group inmanaging the cultivation and economic potential of vegetable plants and family medicinal plants (TOGA) through the utilization of household yards. Empowerment methods include: (1) provision of seeds, planting media, fertilizers, andplanting equipment; (2) extension program on the concept of KRPL, the benefits and techniques of cultivating vegetables and TOGA, and business analysis; (3) training and practice of cultivation in yard land; and (4) mentoring. This community service program was implemented in Sudimoro Village, Teras District, Boyolali Regency. Empowermentactivities resulted in increased knowledge and skills among Dawis members in cultivating vegetables and TOGA, as well as the availability of vegetable and TOGA plants that Dawis members and the surrounding community utilize.
