Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-Module for Entrepreneurship Career Guidance, based on local UMKMs, tailored for students at SMAN 6 Sidrap. Utilizing Rowntree's development model, the research integrates essential components from student needs analysis, collaboration with career counselors, and case studies of successful local entrepreneurs. The novel aspect of this E-Module lies in its focus on local UMKMs in Sidrap, providing students with relatable and inspiring examples of entrepreneurship. Findings indicate that the E-Module significantly enhances students' self-efficacy and interest in pursuing entrepreneurial careers. It also aligns with the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), supporting students in understanding entrepreneurial opportunities and fostering realistic career expectations. By including practical simulations and real-life success stories, the E-Module creates a dynamic and engaging learning environment, demonstrating its effectiveness as a career guidance tool.

Abstract

Academic self-handicapping behaviors exhibit complex relationships with psychological constructs, particularly fear of failure and self-compassion. This investigation examined the differential effects of fear of failure (X₁) and self-compassion (X₂) on self-handicapping tendencies (Y) among university students. The study comprised 398 participants (n=398; 104 males, 294 females) enrolled across five state universities in Makassar, recruited through accidental sampling methodology. Assessment instruments included the Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory Long-Form (modified), the Self-Handicapping Scale (modified), and the Indonesian adaptation of the Self-Compassion Scale. Utilizing ordinal regression analysis, the results revealed a significant positive association between fear of failure and self-handicapping (b = 0.058, p less than 0.001), while self-compassion demonstrated a significant negative relationship (b = -0.045, p less than 0.001). The combined predictive model accounted for 22.4% of the variance in self-handicapping behaviors (Nagelkerke R² = 0.224). These findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of self-handicapping mechanisms and hold practical implications for developing targeted interventions within university student support services. The results may inform the design and implementation of evidence-based training programs addressing maladaptive academic behaviors among university students.

The study population consisted of 72 students, with a sample of 22 students divided equally into experimental and control groups (11 students each), selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using an academic resilience scale and observation guidelines. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. The findings revealed that: (1) At the pretest stage, both the experimental and control groups showed low levels of academic resilience. After the posttest, the academic resilience level in the experimental group increased to the high category, while the control group remained in the low category; (2) The implementation of the WDEP Reality Counseling was conducted according to five stages: rational treatment, want, doing, evaluation, and planning. Student participation during the counseling sessions was categorized as high; (3) There was a significant difference in academic resilience levels between the group that received WDEP Reality Counseling and the group that did not. This indicates that the application of tthe WDEP Reality Counseling significantly improves students' academic resilience.
