Abstract

ABSTRAKStunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang menghambat pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak, berdampak pada fisik, mental, dan intelektual. Dusun Jati Kidul, Desa Tonoboyo, Kecamatan Bandongan, Kabupaten Magelang, Provinsi Jawa Tengah menghadapi tantangan ini dengan dua balita teridentifikasi stunting dari 28 balita dan lima ibu hamil memerlukan perhatian gizi khusus. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi prevalensi stunting melalui berbagai kegiatan seperti Pemberian Makanan Tambahan di posyandu, sosialisasi pendewasaan usia perkawinan, penanaman tanaman Daun Kelor sebagai sumber pangan lokal bergizi, pengembangan resep makanan lokal untuk ibu hamil, serta pembuatan sistem informasi berbasis website tentang stunting. Metode pelaksanaan melibatkan ceramah, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Sosialisasi disampaikan oleh ahli kesehatan, sementara praktik penanaman dilaksanakan bersama mahasiswa dan warga setempat. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pencegahan stunting, terutama dalam memanfaatkan sumber pangan lokal dan informasi yang disediakan melalui platform edukasi daring. Intervensi ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan upaya preventif masyarakat terhadap stunting secara berkelanjutan.Kata kunci: Stunting; Pemberian Makanan Tambahan; Sumber Pangan Lokal.ABSTRACTStunting is a chronic nutritional issue that hinders the growth and development of children, affecting their physical, mental, and intellectual capacities. Dusun Jati Kidul, located in Tonoboyo Village, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province faces this challenge with two out of 28 toddlers identified as stunted and five pregnant women requiring special nutritional attention. This community service program aims to reduce the prevalence of stunting through various activities, including the provision of supplementary feeding at local health posts, socialization on delaying marriage age, planting moringa trees as a nutritious local food source, developing local food recipes for pregnant women, and creating a web-based information system on stunting. The implementation methods include lectures, hands-on practice, and evaluation of active community participation. Socialization is conducted by health experts, while planting practices are carried out with students and local residents. The results demonstrate increased community awareness of the importance of stunting prevention, particularly in utilizing local food sources and the information provided through online educational platforms. This intervention has made a significant contribution to enhancing the community's preventive efforts against stunting sustainably.Keywords: Stunting; Supplementary Feeding; Local Food Sources.

Abstract

Zat gizi paling penting dalam masa emas pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bayi dalam 6 bulan pertama kehidupan adalah Air Susu Ibu (ASI). ASI mengandung zat gizi lengkap dan memiliki komponen imunitas yang penting bagi untuk pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan sistem imun bayi. Akan tetapi, tidak semua ibu dapat menghasilkan ASI secara optimal dikarenakan berbagai faktor. Sehingga, sebagian ibu menyusui membutuhkan tambahan asupan berupa suplemen pelancar ASI. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak digunakan adalah daun katuk (Sauropus androgynus). Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur terkait pemanfaatan daun katuk di Indonesia, sebagian besar pencarian adalah penelitian 5 tahun terakhir untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan dan pengembangan daun katuk di Indonesia. Hasil penelusuran menunjukkan bahwa terdapat efektivitas daun katuk dalam meningkatkan produksi ASI. Inovasi daun katuk sebagai suplementasi ASI banyak dilakukan, baik dalam bentuk makanan, cemilan, maupun minuman instan. Edukasi dan sosialisasi terkait pemanfaatan daun katuk juga telah banyak dilakukan oleh tenaga kesehatan. Namun, penelitian lebih dalam terkait mekanisme aksi daun katuk, serta pengembangannya dalam bentuk sediaan farmasi masih belum banyak dilakukan. Mengingat potensi yang besar dari daun katuk, perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan untuk mengeksplorasi mekanisme aksi dan mengembangkan produk daun katuk secara saintifik dalam bentuk nutrasetikal, obat herbal terstandar maupun fitofarmaka.

Abstract

Jamu pegal linu merupakan obat tradisional yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat karena memiliki banyak manfaat. Bahan Kimia Obat (BKO) sering ditambahkan pada jamu pegal linu untuk menambah khasiatnya. Tujuan dari penelitian kali ini akan melakukan analisis kualitatif sampel jamu pegal linu dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah produk yang mengandung bahan kimia obat (BKO) dengan standar pembanding prednison, asam mefenamat, natrium diklofenak dan ibuprofen. Sampel A, B, C dan D merupakan sampel jamu pegal linu yang diperoleh dari toko jamu di wilayah Temanggung. Analisis kualitatif BKO dilakukan dengan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) menggunakan fase diam silika gel 60 F254, fase gerak Etil asetat : klorofom (4:1), etil asetat : heksana (1:4), kloroform : etanol (4,5:0,5), klorofom : Etil asetat (4,5:0,5)  dan dideteksi sinar UV 254 nm. Berdasarkan uji organoleptis diperoleh data yang bervariasi. Setiap sampel jamu memiliki bau, rasa, warna, bentuk, dan sediaan yang beragam. Berdasarkan uji KLT tidak ditemukan kandungan prednison, ibuprofen dan asam mefenamat pada seluruh sampel. Sampel B, C dan D positif mengandung natrium diklofenak.

Abstract

Traditional medicines, also known as jamu, have sometimes been found to contain medicinal chemicals to enhance the effectiveness of these products. Sildenafil citrate, which is clinically effective in improving erectile function, can cause harmful side effects when included in herbal products. This study, therefore, aims to validate the identification of sildenafil citrate in aphrodisiac herbal medicine using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and UV-visible spectrophotometry. The samples were prepared by macerating 100 mg of the jamu in 96% ethanol for 24 hours. The samples were then evaluated using TLC and a UV-visible spectrophotometer, with validation parameters including linearity, precision, limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantitation (LOQ). This study uncovered that one of the three samples tested positive for sildenafil citrate, as evidenced by similar Retention factor (Rf) values in two TLC systems. Additionally, analysis using UV-visible spectrophotometry revealed that the average content of sildenafil citrate in the sample was 23.96%, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.74% and LOD and LOQ values of 10.28 and 34.27 µg/mL, respectively. The methods of analysis, including TLC and UV-visible spectrophotometry, for sildenafil citrate identification are expected to be valuable for regulatory and supervisory agencies in monitoring the distribution of such herbal medicines.

Abstract

Worm infection has become public health issue with the highest prevalence in children under the age of five and elementary school-aged children. The children have difficulty maintaining the hygienist, especially when they are playing. This study aims to describe the level of knowledge and mothers’ adherence to the use of helminthic drugs in Kuwaluhan Village, Magelang Regency. This research used a descriptive study with both a survey method and a cross-sectional approach. The purposive sampling technique was used, while the questionnaire was distributed to mothers with children under the age of five and elementary school-age children in Kuwaluhan Village RW 2, Magelang Regency, in December 2022. The results showed that the level of knowledge of mothers in Kuwaluhan Village RW 2, Magelang Regency, regarding the use of helminthic drugs out of a total of 74 mothers indicated that 33 respondents (44.59%) had good knowledge, 29 respondents (39.19%) had sufficient knowledge, and as many as 12 respondents (16.22%) had less knowledge. Meanwhile, at the adherence level, respondents were categorized as having high adherence by 1 respondent (1.35%), medium adherence by 73 respondents (98.65%), and low adherence by 0 respondents (0%). Based on these results, most of the mothers in Kuwaluhan RW 2, Magelang Regency have good knowledge and have a medium level of adherence to using helminthic drugs for children.

Abstract

Jamu for rheumatism and "pegal linu" are two of the most commonly used traditional medicine products in the community, so it is a type of traditional medicine preparation that is prone to the addition of medicinal chemicals. Any type of medicinal chemical should not be added to herbal preparations. The purpose of this study was to determine is there any medicinal chemicals in traditional medicine samples for "pegal linu" and rheumatism in the Magelang area. The total number of samples used is nine. Thin layer chromatography was used to analyze medicinal chemicals in traditional medicine, and preliminary organoleptic test was performed. The next step is a quantitative analysis using the UV-Visible spectrophotometric method. Prednisone, mefenamic acid, and ibuprofen were used as standards. The stationary phase was silica gel 60 F254, and the mobile phase was ethyl acetate: chloroform (4:1) for the prednisone standard, chloroform:methanol (9:1) for the mefenamic acid standard, and chloroform:ethanol (8:1) for the ibuprofen standard. Thin layer chromatography analysis showed that three of the nine traditional medicine samples tested positive for prednisone, but none contained mefenamic acid or ibuprofen. Herbs A, D, and E contained prednisone in their samples. Prednisone concentrations in the three samples were 0,252%; 0.754%, and 2,005%, respectively.

Abstract

Kawasan penghasil tanaman herbal ditemukan di daerah Borobudur, Jawa Tengah. Tanaman herbal dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan fitofarmaka yang dapat diolah menjadi bahan dasar obat herbal. Berdasarkan data hingga minggu keempat bulan Juli 2023 dari Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia menyatakan bahwa terdapat 8.245 kasus Covid-19 yang aktif sampai saat ini. Banyak fenomena yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat selama pandemi Covid-19 salah satunya masyarakat Indonesia menggunakan tanaman herbal yang diolah menjadi jamu guna menambah imunitas tubuh pada pandemi Covid-19. Tanaman yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah tanaman Binahong (Anredera cordifolia). Penelitian tersebut penting dilakukan karena dapat memberikan alternatif sebagai bahan baku obat imunomodulator dari bahan alam yaitu ekstrak etil asetat daun Binahong dari Borobudur. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui efek imunomodulator ekstrak etil asetat daun Binahong yang terdapat di daerah Borobudur, Jawa Tengah yang menggunakan metode maserasi dengan mengukur aktivitas fagositosis dan indeks fagositosis. Peneliti menggunakan 30 mencit yang terbagi menjadi 6 kelompok, masing-masing kelompok memiliki 5 mencit dengan perlakuan positif, perlakuan pelarut dan kelompok dosis 25mg/kgBB, 50mg/kgBB, 75mg/kgBB dan 100mg/kgBB. Uji ANOVA One Way digunakan untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan, aktivitas fagositosis sel makrofag pada parameter indeks fagositosi menunjukkan dosis efektif yang dapat memberikan efek imunomodulator adalah 100 mg/kgBB. Peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dengan dosis 100mg/kgBB menunjukan aktivitas imunomodulator secara signifikan dan mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder flavonoid.

Abstract

Kerupuk merupakan pendamping makanan yang banyak digemari orang, salah satunya ada kerupuk nasi yang merupakan khas daerah Jawa Tengah. Kerupuk ini dibuat dari nasi yang kemudian diolah dengan rempah dan tambahan rasa. Boraks sering kali ditambahkan pada kerupuk nasi untuk memperbaiki tekstur dan menghasilkan kerupuk yang renyah. Boraks dilarang digunakan dalam BTP (Bahan Tambahan Pangan) karena dalam jangka panjang dapat menyebabkan kanker. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan boraks dalam kerupuk nasi yang dijual di pasar tradisional Muntilan. Metode kualitatif melibatkan uji nyala, uji pengendapan AgNO3, dan uji kertas kurkumin. Sampel yang menunjukkan hasil positif kemudian dianalisis lebih lanjut secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis untuk mengukur kadar boraks yang terkandung. Panjang gelombang maksimum yang terdeteksi pada uji kali ini  adalah 431 nm dan diperoleh persamaan garis kalibrasi y = 0,2202x+0,0048. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa dua dari enam sampel yang diuji mengandung boraks secara kualitatif. Selanjutnya, dilakukan uji kuantitatif dan diperoleh kadar boraks berkisar 0,016% pada sampel KN 2  dan 4,366% pada sampel KN 6. Diharapkan penelitian berikutnya dapat menguji kandungan boraks pada makanan lain yang sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat.Kata Kunci: boraks, kerupuk nasi, spektrofotometri UV-Vis

Abstract

Jamu is a traditional Indonesian medicine. Herbal medicine for rheumatism and “pegal linu” is one of the most widely consumed types of traditional medicinal products by the public, so it is a type of traditional medicinal preparation that is prone to the addition of chemical drugs (BKO). All types of traditional medicines are prohibited from containing isolated or synthetic chemicals with medicinal properties. Samples of rheumatism and “pegal linu” jamu were purchased from Grobogan, Central Java, and Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. Two samples were purchased from Grobogan, while four samples were purchased from Gunungkidul. The standards used were mefenamic acid, phenylbutazone, and diclofenac sodium. Qualitative analysis was carried out using thin-layer chromatography and quantitative analysis using UV-visible spectrophotometry. Validation of the analytical method is carried out by setting four parameters: linearity, precision, limit of detection, and limit of quantitation. Information about the content of BKO in traditional medicines circulating in the Grobogan and Gunungkidul areas, as well as references to valid analytical methods, will greatly assist the government and academics in educating the public about the dangers of long-term consumption of traditional medicine with BKO. The results showed that three of the six samples contained BKO, and the analytical method was valid.

Abstract

Lips are susceptible to ultraviolet (UV) exposure because they lack melanin, sweat glands, and hair follicles. To protect and moisturize lips, lip balm is widely used; however, it generally contains synthetic ingredients that can cause side effects. Therefore, a safe and effective natural-based alternative is needed. Pineapple peel (Ananas comusus L. Merr.) contains flavonoids and tannins that function as natural sunscreens. In contrast, carrot peel (Daucus carota L.) is rich in β-carotene, vitamin E, and flavonoids with antioxidant and natural coloring properties. The combination of these ingredients is considered complementary and has the potential to be used as natural active components in lip balm formulations. This study aims to determine the formulation and SPF value of lip balms containing pineapple and carrot peel extracts as UV protection agents. Four formulations were prepared: F0 (0% extract), F1 (10% pineapple peel extract), F2 (10% carrot peel extract), and F3 (combination of both extracts). The evaluation included organoleptic testing, homogeneity testing, stability testing, determination of the melting point, pH measurement, and SPF testing. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test method. The results showed that all formulations met the characteristics of a good lip balm, with SPF values of 1.028, 8.791, 8.949, and 25.672, respectively. Formulation F3 showed the highest SPF value with “ultra” protection, indicating strong potential as a natural UV-protective lip balm.
