Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Oral and dental health service facilities are very at risk of infection. It found an increase in the frequency of microorganisms before 33.3% and after 80% of treatments in the air of the practice room and an increase in microorganisms before 18.3% and after 70% treatment on the surface of the dental unit.Method: This study aim to report integratively on infection prevention and control guidelines in dental and oral health facilities. The literature review used in this article uses the Systematic Literature Review method by analyzing 618 articles on the scientific search engines Science Direct, ProQuest, Google Schoolar and Pubmed with the criteria for articles related to keywords and 14 articles were collected as literature studies related to material. Result: Guidelines for the implementation of infection prevention in dental and oral health facilities.Conclusion: Effective and efficient infection control efforts in dentist practice can reduce the spread of infectious diseases in dental and oral health care facilities.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Infeksi silang atau Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) adalah penularan infeksi yang terjadi karena adanya agen infeksi. HAIs juga dapat terjadi di dalam praktik kedokteran gigi. Dokter gigi, mahasiswa kedokteran gigi, dan petugas kesehatan lainnya berisiko tertular infeksi selama prosedur perawatan. Prosedur perawatan gigi rutin yang menghasilkan aerosol, berpotensi menimbulkan risiko bagi dokter gigi, staf perawatan gigi, dan pasien. Tujuan: Untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor apakah yang berhubungan dengan kepatuhan tenaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dalam menjalankan Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Infeksi (PPI) dalam praktik. Metode: Metode literature review ini dengan mengkaji artikel-artikel berbahasa Indonesia maupun Inggris yang tersedia pada database online, diantaranya Google Scholar, PubMed, Portal Garuda, dan Science Direct. Database ditelusur menggunakan kata kunci yang telah ditentukan sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian dan memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil: Terdapat 13 artikel yang memenuhi tujuan penelitian dan kriteria inklusi. Sebagian besar penelitian menunjukkan kepatuhan tenaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dalam menjalankan PPI sudah baik, namun belum optimal. Adapun beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kepatuhan tenaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dalam menjalankan pedoman PPI. Kesimpulan: Faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kepatuhan tenaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dalam menjalankan PPI di praktik pelayanan yaitu pengetahuan, persepsi, sikap, sarana prasarana, dan monitoring atau pengawasan.

Abstract

The still high number of tuberculosis cases in Medan City is proof that the value of health is still low. This is proven by the high number of tuberculosis cases at the Sentosa Baru Community Health Center. Therefore, it is necessary to know the existence of risk factors for tuberculosis and the reasons for them in sufferers in the Sentosa Baru Community Health Center working area. This type of research is descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 64 respondents who were tuberculosis sufferers in the work area of the Sentosa Baru Health Center. The research results show that the majority are of productive age with a high school education level and good (50%) or less (50%) knowledge. Smoking habits were primarily found in the moderate category (31.3%), and the habit of wearing masks was minimal (65.5%). Most had the habit of opening windows (67.2%) but had never removed phlegm in a particular container (40.6%). Observation results showed that the majority already had floors (87.5%) and walls (78.1%) that met the requirements, but only (15.6%) had glass tiles in their homes. Based on the results of cross-tab research, a comparison was made between the level of knowledge, age, level of education, and risk factors. It was concluded that age, level of education, level of knowledge, type of floor, type of wall, availability of glass tiles, smoking habits, habits of wearing masks, habits of opening windows, and habits of expelling phlegm were the reasons that influenced this.
