Abstract

This study was motivated by the low consistency of student participation in aerobic exercise due to time constraints, limited access, and fluctuations in motivation. The use of interactive videos is seen as an innovative solution to enhance engagement in exercise in a flexible and structured manner. This study aims to analyse the effect of interactive videos on intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and exercise consistency. The method used was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving 60 students divided into experimental and control groups. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires and observation, whilst data analysis utilised validity and reliability tests, t-tests, and linear regression. The results of the study showed that the experimental group had a higher average motivation score (3.735) compared to the control group (3.347), with a  of 3.996 and . Regarding the participation variable, the experimental group also scored higher (3.667) than the control group (3.298), with  and . Regression analysis showed that interactive videos had a significant effect on exercise consistency ( ), contributing 49.6% ( ). In conclusion, interactive videos are effective in increasing motivation and consistency in aerobic exercise and support the sustainability of students’ physical activity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of real-time video feedback on improving serve accuracy and movement biomechanics in junior tennis athletes. The study used a quantitative approach with a pre-test–post-test control group design. The study sample consisted of 20 junior tennis athletes aged 14–16 years in Makassar City who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through the Hewitt Serve Test, biomechanical observations, and video documentation analyzed using Kinovea software. The experimental group was given real-time video feedback-based training for 8 weeks, while the control group underwent conventional training. Data analysis used a paired sample t-test and Cohen's d at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in serve accuracy from 62.4% to 81.7%. In addition, trunk rotation increased by 18%, elbow angle by 12%, and movement timing coordination by 15%. A t-value of 9.21 and Cohen's d of 3.22 indicate that the use of real-time video feedback significantly impacts the quality of junior tennis athletes' service techniques. The implications of this study suggest that the use of real-time video technology can be an effective training strategy to improve technical performance, biomechanical evaluation, and coaching efficiency of young tennis athletes.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the caterpillar game in improving forward roll learning outcomes among Grade 3 students at UPT SPF SDI Sambung Jawa 3, Makassar City. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The research subjects were 28 Grade 3 students comprising 13 male and 15 female students. Assessment instruments covered three domains: cognitive (30%), affective (20%), and psychomotor (50%), with a minimum learning mastery criterion (KKTP) of 80. Results demonstrated significant improvement from the pre-cycle to Cycle II. In the pre-cycle condition, only 3 students (10.7%) achieved the KKTP; this increased to 15 students (53.6%) in Cycle I; and reached 27 students (96.4%) in Cycle II. The caterpillar game proved effective in improving forward roll learning outcomes as the playful approach successfully reduced fear, increased motivation, and developed the fundamental movement coordination required for the forward roll technique.
