Abstract

Presently, in Indonesia, the lack of a validated measure for obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) hinders diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The current study evaluated the reliability, validity, and optimal cut-off score of the Indonesian Florida Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (FOCI) in predicting OCD presence. The participants included 384 adults: 157 with OCD, 80 case controls with anxiety or mood disorders, and 147 healthy controls. Assessments were conducted using FOCI, Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7. Test–retest reliability of the FOCI was evaluated for over 2 weeks in 30 OCD patients. The internal consistency within OCD samples for the FOCI Symptom Checklist and Severity Scale was strong (Kuder–Richardson 20, KR-20 = 0.86; Cronbach’s alpha, α = 0.86), as well as the test–retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC] = 0.98 [95% CI: 0.95, 0.99] and ICC = 0.73 [95% CI: 0.49, 0.86], respectively). Convergent and discriminant validity were moderate to strong. Confirmatory Factor Analysis revealed a unidimensional factorial structure for the FOCI Severity Scale. A cut-off score of ≥5 predicted OCD with a sensitivity of 85% and specificity of 65%. Results support the use of Indonesian FOCI in screening and assessing OCD in Indonesian samples.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of employees at PT MTI in applying self-leadership as an effort to achieve optimal performance within a dynamic work environment. The program was implemented through a psychoeducational webinar entitled “Starting with Yourself,” which was attended by 110 employees from various divisions and job levels, demonstrating a high level of participation. The psychoeducational content covered fundamental leadership concepts, behavior-focused strategies, natural reward strategies, and constructive thought strategies. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure improvements in participants’ understanding. The results indicated a significant increase in employees’ knowledge after joining the webinar, as reflected in their enhanced ability to comprehend, integrate, and apply self-leadership concepts compared to their initial understanding prior to the program. Active engagement in ice-breaking activities, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions further contributed to the effectiveness of the learning process. These findings suggest that psychoeducation is an effective method for strengthening employees’ self-regulation capacities and readiness to meet the demands of work in the telecommunication industry. This program is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of subsequent leadership-based training initiatives aimed at continuously improving the quality of human resources.

Abstract

State Civil Apparatus (ASN) remains one of the most sought-after professions in Indonesia. In carrying out their duties, ASN are bound by laws and regulations, particularly those regarding ASN discipline. Data from the State Civil Service Agency indicate that ASN disciplinary violations throughout 2024 reached 4,195 cases. This study investigates the relationship between job boredom and counterproductive work behavior (CWB) among civil servants in Indonesia, while examining the moderating role of self-control. Amid high rates of disciplinary violations among State Civil Apparatus (ASN), there is a pressing need to understand the psychological drivers of these detrimental workplace behaviors. The research aims to determine whether job boredom predicts CWB and whether an individual’s self-control can mitigate this relationship. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the study collected data from 185 civil servants (109 males and 76 females, aged 24–58 years) in the Provincial Government of "X" via questionnaires measuring job boredom, self-control, and interpersonal and organizational CWB. The results showed that job boredom has a positive and significant influence on counterproductive work behavior, both interpersonally (PKK-I) and organizationally (PKK-O). Self-control was also found to significantly moderate the relationship between job boredom and counterproductive work behavior. The results of this study are expected to provide better insight into alternative recruitment and training strategies for employees, especially civil servants in Indonesia.
