Abstract

Palm sugar agro-industry in Rokan Hulu Regency has obstacles in its development, namely technological capabilities, and limited supporting infrastructure for agro-industry, marketing and distribution that are less developed. The purpose of this service is to design a tool to make crystal sugar so that it can convert solid palm sugar which is usually produced by the community so that the price of palm sugar is higher than ordinary solid palm sugar and assist in digital marketing. This community service method is carried out in several stages, namely: observation, problem identification, problem formulation and finding the best solution. Through this service program, this service, the University of Riau implementation team has succeeded in designing and manufacturing palm sugar crystallization tools, socializing the use of the tool, counseling about digital marketing, and counseling efforts to change people's mindsets in the behavior of using sap water as an ingredient for making palm sugar.

Abstract

Buah-buahan merupakan salah satu produk tanaman hortikultura yang sangat bermanfaat bagi kesehatan tubuh. Buah yang matang tidak dapat disimpan terlalu lama karena tingkat kematangan buah akan semakin bertambah dan membusuk. Buah yang busuk akan menjadi limbah dan dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Pupuk organik cair ini dapat diaplikasikan ke semua jenis tanaman kehutanan, salah satunya adalah gaharu (Aquilaria malaccensis). Gaharu merupakan salah satu hasil hutan bukan kayu berupa resin yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair yang paling efektif untuk memacu pertumbuhan tanaman gaharu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu kontrol, konsentrasi 10%, 20% dan 30%. Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase hidup, pertambahan tinggi dan rasio tajuk akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pupuk organik cair limbah buah-buahan berpengaruh nyata untuk memacu pertumbuhan tanaman gaharu pada parameter persentase hidup, pertambahan tinggi dan rasio tajuk akar. Konsentrasi pupuk organik cair yang paling efektif adalah konsentrasi 10% (Perlakuan P1) dengan persentase hidup semai sebesar 80%, pertambahan tinggi 1,68 cm, dan rasio tajuk akar sebesar 3,32.

Abstract

Sayuran merupakan salah satu produk hortikultura yang banyak diperjualbelikan di pasar tradisional dan memiliki limbah yang cukup banyak. Limbah sayuran tersebut dapat kita jadikan sebagai bahan pemuatan pupuk organik cair. Pupuk organik cair merupakan salah satu pupuk yang ramah lingkungan dan dapat diaplikasikan ke berbagai jenis tanaman, seperti jelutung rawa (Dyera lowii Hook.F). Jelutung rawa adalah salah satu tanaman kehutanan yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai tanaman restorasi dan rehabilitasi lahan gambut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair limbah sayuran yang terbaik untuk memacu pertumbuhan semai jelutung rawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimen rancangan acak lengkap, dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu kontrol, konsentrasi 15%, 30% dan 45%. Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase hidup, pertumbuhan tinggi dan berat kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pupuk organik cair limbah sayuran berbeda nyata untuk memacu pertumbuhan semai jelutung rawa pada parameter persentase hidup, pertumbuhan tinggi dan berat kering. Konsentrasi pupuk organik cair yang paling terbaik adalah 30% dengan persentase hidup 90%, tinggi 2,69 cm dan berat kering  1,04 g.

Abstract

ShorealeprosulaMiqis one of the tree’s main producers of wood in Indonesia and is a type of shorea that has  faster growth until the age of 20 years compared to  shorea. Shorealeprosulacan grow on peat soil. To increase the fertility of peat soil, it is necessary to add fertilizer, be it  chemical fertilizers and organic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers can be obtained from manure  rabbits. Rabbit droppings are not widely used by breeders, whileRabbit droppings and urine are good fertilizers that can improve physical properties,  soil chemistry and biology. The purpose of this study was to determine the responseof  rabbit manure fertilizer and find out the best composition of rabbit manure  on peat medium on the growth of Shorealeprosulaseedlings. This research  using a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments with five  tests. The data obtained were then analyzed using fingerprints  variance with SPSS software and further tested using the DNMRT test on  5% level. Giving rabbit manure has an effect on growth  copper meranti seeds and the best composition to increase growth Shorealeprosulaseeds on peat medium is 60% rabbit manure fertilizer +  40% peat soil (Treatment D4) with a yield ofincrease  height 0,91 cm, increase in diameter 0,12 mm, and top rootratio 3,25. Keywords: ShorealeprosulaMiq, rabbit manure, fertilizer, peat soil.

Abstract

Aquilaria malaccensis is a group of plants that produce highly commercial aromatics which lately has been difficult to obtain, efforts have been made to increase the productivity of gaharu plants by improving the quality of planting media and increasing seedling growth. It is done by giving liquid organic fertilizer from rabbit urine. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect and the best concentration of rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) use on peat medium, on the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings. This study used a complet random design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications, in order to obtain 20 experimental units. The treatments were: K0 (control) K1 (rabbit urine with 20% concentration) K2 (rabbit urine with 50% concentration) K3 (rabbit urine with 80% concentration). The data were further analyzed using variance, with SPSS software version 23.0, the test was conducted to determine whether at least one treatment that had a significant effect. If there is, it must be continued with the DNMRT test at 5% level. The application of rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) affected the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings, and the best concentration of rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to stimulate the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings on peat medium was at 20% concentration (Treatment K1) with the seedling survival rate of 88%, increase in seedling height 3.05 cm, and top root ratio 4.67.Keywords : Liquid organicfertilizer, rabbiturine,Aqularia malaccensis,peatmedium

Abstract

Rokan Hilir Regency was the area with the highest number of hotspots in the last nine years in Riau Province. Combating forest and land fires in areas that require effective policies. The purpose of this study was to study forest and land fire prevention policies in Riau Province, especially in Rokan Hilir Regency. The research sample used qualitative research, the informants were selected by snowball sampling. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations and document studies. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Research Results Shows Research Regarding the Determination of Forest and Natural Forest Disaster, Riau Provincial Regulation No. 1 of 2019 concerning Technical Guidelines for Combating Forest and Land Fires was only adopted on August 15, 2019. For in Rokan Hilir District there was no Regional Regulation governing the destruction of forests and land. However, the Government of Rokan Hilir Regency issued Rokan Hilir Regent's Regulation No. 41 of 2017 concerning the Implementing Unit of Rokan Hilir District Forest and Land Fire Control, in this Regent Regulation, asking for approval, while in Riau Province Regional Regulation No. 1  of 2019 does not provide a deterrent effect for forest and land burners.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the rare earth elements (REEs) from themonazite minerals content of several tin tailing sands (TTS)of ex-tin mining area in Kuala Raya Singkep Island, Indonesia. We used the energy dispersive analysis of  X-ray (EDAX)-scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) to characterize the contents of the samples. The coupled analytical of XRD with SEM/EDX approach enabled to be used for mineralogical identification on the heavy mineral as a rapid determination approach. The analysis of the samples indicates only the presence of REEs including lanthanum (La), cerium (Ce), and thorium (Th) are consistent with the identification of monazite and minerals in the tailing sand. The results show that the average REEs consist of La at 0.2 .%, Ce at 7.8 %, and Th at 2.0% respectively. It is concluded that monazite minerals in TTS has an economic potential to be developed. These monazite minerals can be used as material for semiconductor devices.

Abstract

The Social Forestry Program will open up opportunities for communities around the forest to apply for forest management rights to the government. Sungai Tohor Village has received forest management rights from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The management of Sungai Tohor village forests is an important access for local people to manage forests sustainably. This study aims to determine the perception of the community on the management of Village Forests. Data was collected in several ways: closed interviews, open interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. Respondents from the community as many as 39 people were calculated by the Slovin formula. The results showed that the community knows what the functions and benefits of the Village Forest. Most people have a positive perception of Sungai Tohor Village Forest, 97.43% of respondents strongly agree on the function of village forests and 100% of respondents strongly agree with the benefits of village forests.

Abstract

One potential plant species for restoration in peat swamp forests is Cratoxylon arborescens. A well-managed nursery includes the application of chicken manure. This study aims to determine the effect and best dose of chicken manure fertilizer on the growth of Cratoxylon arborescens seedlings on peat planting media. This research used RAL (Completely Randomized Design) experimental method, which consisted of 4 treatments (P0 = control, P1 = 10% chicken manure + 90% peat, P2 = 30% chicken manure + 70% peat and P3 = 50% chicken manure + 50% peat) with 5 replications. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using variance analysis, followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that chicken manure had a significant effect on the growth of Cratoxylon arborescens seedlings, because it was able to increase fertility and nutrient availability, improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of peat. The most effective and best treatment for four-month-old Cratoxylon arborescens seedlings was P2 (30% chicken manure + 70% peat) with 100% survival percentage, average height increase of 14.39 cm, average diameter increase of 1.56 mm, dry weight of 7.41 g and seedling robustness of 8.35

Abstract

Shorea leprosula is one of the most important commercial timber in Indonesia. The existence of this red meranti plant is included in the IUCN Red List with an endangered conservation status. Efforts to increase the productivity of red meranti plants can be done by improving the quality of the planting media and increasing the growth of seedlings. This study aims to determine the effects and the best composition of planting media and chicken manure on the growth of red meranti seedlings. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Forestry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The method used in this research is a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern consisting of 9 treatments and 3 replications so that 27 experimental units were obtained. The first factor is the concentration of planting media (B) consisting of 3 levels, namely: peat (B1) = 100%, minerals (B2): 100%, combination of peat + minerals = 50% + 50%. The second factor is the concentration of poultry manure (P) consisting of 3 levels, namely: P1 = 10%, P2 = 20%, P3 = 30%. The results showed that the combination of peat and mineral (B3) planting media significantly increased the height of red meranti seedlings with an average of 0.731 cm and a root crown ratio of 3.972. The treatment of poultry manure had no significant effect on the observed parameters of the red meranti seedlings. The best treatment combination was found in the B3P2 combination with an average increase in height of 0.860 cm, diameter increase of 0.089 mm, dry weight of 5.190 g, root crown ratio of 4.770.
