Abstract

The massive use of social media by Generation Z has a significant impact on their mental health, particularly in triggering anxiety disorders. Generation Z, born and raised in the digital era, has a high level of attachment to social media, which is often used compulsively as a means of escape, a pursuit of social validation, and due to the addictive design of these platforms. This dependency can lead to various forms of anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and panic attacks. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in addressing anxiety disorders caused by social media addiction among Generation Z through a literature review approach. The findings indicate that MBCT, which combines mindfulness and cognitive therapy, is effective in reducing anxiety symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing self-awareness among adolescents. The MBCT intervention is conducted over eight sessions, incorporating techniques such as breath meditation, thought observation, identification of negative thinking patterns, and strengthening awareness of emotional experiences. Literature findings suggest that MBCT is not only effective in clinical settings but can also be flexibly applied in educational environments and digital communities, making it a potential preventive and curative strategy for tackling the mental health crisis in the digital era. The success of this intervention is supported by active participant engagement as well as contextual support from trained facilitators and social environments aligned with Generation Z’s characteristics.

Abstract

This research is based on learning problems that cannot be carried out face-to-face because of the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic condition until now, so learning must be carried out by blended learning or face-to-face distance at private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya to reduce the spread of the virus. Covid-19 continues to increase. For this reason, the formulation of the problem in this study is 1) How is the effectiveness of PAI learning with blended learning models in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya? 2) What are the teacher's obstacles in the PAI learning process with the blended learning model in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya? This study aims to describe the effectiveness of PAI learning with the blended learning model and the teacher's obstacles in the learning process at private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya. This research was conducted using the descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya, SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palangka Raya and SMA Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya. The subjects of this research are teachers who teach PAI subjects. For data collection using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The data validation technique uses persistence and constancy of observation and triangulation. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The effectiveness of PAI learning with the blended learning model in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya is still not maximized because students' interest and motivation to learn decreases and students feel bored with the distance learning model or blended learning so that the strategy used by the teacher in teaching can not run optimally. In addition, the small allocation of learning time also causes the explanation of the material to be less effective. 2) The teacher's obstacle in the learning process is the lack of student participation in learning. This is because the main obstacles that occur are the difficulty of the signal and the weak internet network that occurs to students. In addition, the limited quota is also an obstacle for students who have economic limitations.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the influence of academic self-belief (self-efficacy) and personal perseverance (grit) in relation to students' understanding of mathematics. A quantitative approach was employed using a correlational design. The participants consisted of 29 university students selected through a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The analysis included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity), and hypothesis testing through multiple linear regression analysis. The findings revealed that both self-efficacy and grit had a statistically significant and positive impact on learning outcomes (p < 0.05), whereas growth mindset did not show a meaningful influence (p > 0.05). All three psychological factors contributed significantly to students’ critical thinking skills, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.909, indicating that 90.9% of the variance in critical thinking ability could be explained by the model. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ critical thinking performance in mathematics is substantially shaped by psychological traits such as self-efficacy and grit.

Abstract

Students with high reversible thinking abilities find it easier to find solutions to math problems. This is because the ability is reversible, requiring students to rethink answers that have been taken in other ways. Thus, minimizing the chances of error from every solution they get. One way to bring up this ability is to provide a medium when learning takes place. The reality in the field is that there is no media used to improve reversible thinking abilities in root and rank material. ROKA'AT media (Wheel of Roots and Ranks) is one of the media that can be developed that teaches the concept of reversibility. This research includes research on the development of learning media which has the goal of increasing reversible thinking abilities. There are 3 stages of this development, namely the preliminary stage, development and evaluation. Based on the validation results, it was found that ROKA'AT media met valid criteria with an overall percentage of media experts of 93.68% and practitioners of 100%, so the media was suitable for testing. After being tested, it was obtained that the practicality criteria met 96.84% in the very practical category. The pretest and posttest results show which means that ROKA'AT media is effective in improving students' reversible mathematical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Abstract

Elementary school students' numeracy skills are still low, influenced by the abstract nature of mathematics and the use of less interesting learning media. This study aims to design and develop a mathematics learning media called ROMAKU (Roda Massa dan Quantitas), and evaluate its level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' numeracy skills. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a 4D model, including the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages; but limited to the develop stage. Participants were fifth-grade elementary school students. Data were obtained through validation sheets, questionnaires, observations, and numeracy tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed that ROMAKU media had a validity score of 89.75% (very valid), practicality of 90% (very practical), and effectiveness with 80% of students achieving learning mastery. Thus, ROMAKU media is feasible and effective for improving students' numeracy skills, especially in the concept of mass and quantity.

Abstract

General Background: HIV/AIDS remains a multidimensional public health issue affecting legal, social, economic, and healthcare systems at global, national, and regional levels. Specific Background: In response to increasing HIV/AIDS concerns, the Probolinggo Regency Government enacted Regent Regulation Number 25 of 2016 as a legal framework for HIV/AIDS prevention and control through preventive, curative, and rehabilitative programs. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have largely emphasized medical and public health perspectives, while limited empirical legal research has examined the implementation of regional HIV/AIDS regulations and the practical challenges faced by local governments. Aims: This study aims to analyze the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention and control policies in Probolinggo Regency and identify obstacles encountered in applying Regent Regulation Number 25 of 2016. Results: Using an empirical legal method with a socio-legal approach, the study found that the local government implemented public education programs, Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) services, Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), psychosocial assistance, and cross-sector coordination involving the Health Office and the AIDS Prevention Commission. However, policy implementation remains constrained by limited financial resources, inadequate healthcare personnel, weak inter-agency coordination, uneven healthcare access, insufficient monitoring systems, and persistent social stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. Novelty: This research integrates normative and empirical legal analysis while specifically examining the implementation of a regent regulation within the local context of Probolinggo Regency. Implications: The findings highlight the importance of strengthening institutional coordination, improving resource allocation, expanding healthcare accessibility, and increasing community awareness to support sustainable HIV/AIDS governance at the regional level. Highlights: Preventive, treatment, and rehabilitation programs were implemented through VCT, ART, and public outreach initiatives. Resource shortages, institutional coordination gaps, and healthcare accessibility barriers limited program execution. Social stigma and discrimination continued to reduce community participation in testing and treatment services. Keywords: Local Policy, HIV/AIDS, Local Government
