Abstract

Physical distancing, which is widely practiced limiting the spread of COVID-19, is recognized to contain mathematical thoughts that can be harnessed as a context for prospective teachers’ practices of mathematical problem posing. The goal of this study is to investigate the profile of mathematical tasks posed by prospective mathematics teachers using the context of physical distancing that meets the criteria of numeracy tasks. Data were collected from 66 mathematical tasks posed by thirty-three prospective teachers at a public university in Surabaya, Indonesia, attending an assessment course of numeracy based on a problem-posing task. To analyze, the posed tasks were first identified as solvable or unsolvable tasks and then further categorized into the domains of the level of context use and the level of cognitive processes. Results show that the level of context use embedded in the posed tasks varies from zero to first order, with only a few of the posed tasks being coded as having second-order context. Regarding the levels of cognitive processes, most of the posed tasks reach the level of understanding, with only a small number of reasoning tasks identified. Interestingly, all the tasks coded to contain second-order context are classified as reasoning tasks. Some implications regarding designing numeracy tasks using physical distancing and interventions in teacher education related to numeracy task design are discussed.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan metakognisi siswa kelas XI SMA Hasyim Asy’ari 1 Pucuk dalam memecahkan masalah Barisan dan Deret Bilangan pada siswa kemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan secara daring menggunakan media sosial whatsapp. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan didukung tes tulis dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini adalah enam siswa yang terdiri dari dua siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi, dua siswa dengan kemampuan sedang dan dua siswa dengan kemampuan rendah. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi mempunyai pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedural dan pengetahuan kondisional dengan baik. Siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi juga mampu menggunakan keterampilan perencanaan, keterampilan monitoring dan keterampilan evaluasi yang baik. siswa dengan kemampuan sedang mempunyai pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedural yang baik dan pengetahuan kondisional yang cukup baik. Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang juga mampu menggunakan keterampilan perencanaan, keterampilan monitoring dengan baik dan tidak mempunya keterampilan evaluasi. Siswa dengan kemampuan rendah hanya mempunyai pengetahuan deklaratif. Siswa dengan kemampuan rendah juga hanya menggunakan keterampilan perencanaan.

Abstract

Many teachers have become accustomed to traditional learning methods that focus on textbooks and lectures. Not all teachers have the knowledge or skills to use instructional media, including the ROKA'AT media. Many of them may not have received sufficient training on the use of technology or new teaching methods. Therefore, the training attended by teachers from MI Bustanul Ulum Tumapel Gresik aims to improve their skills in operating the ROKA'AT media to support effective teaching methods. The training activities apply five stages: The observation stage, which involves direct observation and interviews regarding the environment of MI Bustanul Ulum Tumapel Gresik. The second stage is the socialization stage, providing information about the activities that will be carried out to address the problems. The third stage is the workshop, involving hands-on practice. The fourth stage is mentoring, and the fifth stage is the practice conducted by the participants to measure their understanding of the ROKA'AT media. Based on the final assessment obtained, the average ability of teachers to operate the media before the training was 25%, which increased to 32% after the training. This results in a gain score of 0.304, which falls into the medium category. In terms of competence, this activity can be generally considered successful, as participants were enthusiastic about the training, understood the material presented, and were able to skillfully apply the training material. The training received positive feedback and therefore should be further developed with well-organized follow-up activities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the mathematical concept comprehension abilities of MTs students on spatial building material based on ethnomathematics in terms of cognitive styles. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were selected based on the results of cognitive style questionnaires, namely Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). Data collection was conducted through cognitive style questionnaires, concept comprehension tests consisting of six items, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that: (1) students with a Field Independent cognitive style are able to meet four indicators of mathematical concept understanding, namely restating a concept, classifying elements based on their properties, providing examples and non-examples, and applying concepts in problem-solving; (2) students with a Field Dependent cognitive style can only meet two indicators, namely restating concepts and classifying elements based on their properties. These findings indicate a difference in understanding mathematical concepts based on students' cognitive styles.

Abstract

Students' mathematical problem-solving abilities tend to be low because learning has not accommodated differences in learning styles and the lack of integration of local cultural elements in the context of the material being studied. This study was conducted with the aim of describing ethnomathematics-based problem-solving abilities in the Boran and Caping Ngancak dances as viewed from the perspective of students' learning styles. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 6 ninth-grade students selected using a purposeful sampling technique based on the results of a learning style questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data were obtained through a learning style questionnaire, ethnomathematics-based problem-solving tests in the Boran and Caping Ngancak dances, and interview guidelines based on Polya indicators. The results showed that students with visual learning styles were able to fulfill all indicators of problem-solving abilities. Students with auditory learning styles only fulfilled two indicators, namely planning and implementing a solution plan. Meanwhile, students with a kinesthetic learning style were only able to fulfill one indicator, namely implementing a plan/solving a problem. This study shows the influence of learning styles on the achievement of problem-solving ability indicators in the context of ethnomathematics, so it is important for teachers to accommodate differences in learning styles in contextual learning.

Abstract

Pemahaman tentang pemilihan umum (pemilu) tidak cukup hanya dengan sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pemilu bagi masa depan bangsa, tetapi juga perlu memberikan pemahaman tentang mekanisme pemilu, khususnya bagi pemilih pemula secara konkrit, misalnya melalui pemilihan ketua osis (pemilos) di lingkungan sekolah. Tujuannya agar para kawula muda dapat mengerti dan memahami proses pemilu dari awal hingga akhir secara langsung melalui pemilos yang dijadikan sebagai miniatur pemilu. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode penelitian yuridis-normatif dengan pendekatan sosiologis. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Badan Pengawas Pemilu (Bawaslu) Kab. Bondowoso melakukan serangkaian cara dalam rangka meningkatkan kesadaran hukum dan politik bagi siswa di beberapa lembaga pendidikan di Kabupaten Bondowoso, antara lain di SMKN 1 Bondowoso dan SMAN 1 Tenggarang Bondowoso, dengan melakukan pendampingan, pembuatan dan penerapan beberapa ketentuan peraturan yang dibuat sendiri oleh lembaga tersebut melalui Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (Osis) dalam pelaksanaan Pemilihan Ketua Osis (Pemilos). Peraturan tersebut berisi tentang susunan panitia penyelenggara pemilos yang terdiri dari Komisi Pemilihan Osis (KPO) dan Pengawas, serta berbagai ketentuan yang mengatur hal lain yang terkait dengan proses pemilos hingga tahap akhir.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya pemerintah dalam meningkatkan mutu peserta didik adalah dengan adanya AKM. Kompetensi yang diukur pada AKM diantaranya adalah Literasi Matematika (Numerasi). Dua dari tiga peserta didik belum mencapai kompetensi minimum numerasi. Tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam memecahkan soal AKM tipe numerasi. Subjek yang diteliti adalah 2 siswa kelas V MI yang berkemampuan matematika sedang. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Ada 2 instrumen yang diterapkan, yaitu 6 soal AKM Numerasi materi operasi bilangan bulat dan pedoman wawancara. Indikator berpikir kritis yang dipakai terdiri dari 4 indikator, yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Temuan yang diperoleh adalah subjek yang mempunyai kemampuan matematika sedang memenuhi 3 indikator berpikir kritis, yaitu interpretasi, analisis, dan evaluasi dalam menyelesaikan soal AKM Numerasi. Subjek mengalami kesulitan pada indikator berpikir kritis inferensi yang mana pada indikator ini siswa dituntut untuk memberikan alasan terkait jawaban yang diberikan. Sehingga subjek yang mempunyai kemampuan matematika sedang dapat dikategorikan masuk pada TBK 3 pada materi operasi bilangan bulat.

Abstract

Chatbot Questions and Answer (Q&A) has become a very important tool for companies to provide fast and effective customer support and service. However, the main challenge in the development of Chatbot Q&A is to ensure that the chatbot can understand the user's natural language and provide the right answers. In this research, Text Mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods are applied to the Q&A Chatbot for PT PLN (Persero) South Sumatra region with the aim of improving the chatbot's ability to understand customer questions and provide accurate answers. The application designed in this study uses the software development method, namely the Rational Unified Process (RUP) model and is implemented into the Android operating system. As for testing using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) calculation. The accuracy of the test is indicated by the RMSE results having a small value (close to zero). From the results of testing sample data of 20 questions, the RMSE calculation value is 0.10, so it can be concluded that the prediction accuracy level in the text mining process in the application is very good (RMSE is close to 0). The result of this research is a tool in the form of an interactive information question and answer application like a discussion model and can use everyday language

Abstract

Integers are an important topic in mathematics that students must understand well. However, in practice, many students face difficulties in understanding integer operations. One way to address this issue is by using a number line manipulative that employs Dienes' steps. This research is qualitative, with a case study approach. The subjects consisted of three 6th-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The three subjects had varying mathematical abilities: high, medium, and low. The learning activities used six steps of Dienes. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guidelines, and a test consisting of eight questions related to the addition and subtraction of integers. Data collection techniques followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that learning using Dienes' steps with integer manipulatives successfully addressed students' difficulties in performing integer operations, especially in problems involving operations with two adjacent signs.

Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes in state financial management, particularly in terms of transparency and accountability. This study aims to juridically examine how the principles of transparency and accountability are applied in state financial management in the digital era and to evaluate the effectiveness of existing regulations. The research employs a normative approach using literature review (library research), analyzing various laws, legal documents, and previous studies relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that digitalization in state financial management, such as the implementation of e-budgeting and e-audit systems, has improved public access to financial information and accelerated the oversight process. However, challenges remain in its implementation, including legal gaps in data protection, risks of digital manipulation, and a lack of technical expertise in certain state financial management institutions. Additionally, while regulations on transparency and accountability have been strengthened, their effectiveness still largely depends on the consistency of law enforcement and political commitment. Therefore, policy reforms that are more adaptive to technological developments and the strengthening of more responsive oversight mechanisms are needed. This study is expected to contribute to the development of better legal policies to ensure state financial management that is more transparent, accountable, and free from misuse in the digital era.
