Abstract

 ABSTRAKBuah kelapa merupakan tanaman yang berjenis ukuran besar, tanaman kelapa banyak terdapat di daerah beriklim tropis. Daerah- daerah tropis tersebut tanaman kelapa banyak tumbuh dan di bududayakan oleh sebagian besar para petani di daerah pantai maupun daeah pegunungan. Pengupas sabut kelapa secara manual kurang efektif karena masih menggunakan tenaga manusia sebagai sumber tenaga utama dan kapasitas kerja yang kecil. Mesin pengupas sabut kelapa memiliki pisau yang berrfungsi untuk merobek sabut kelapa, pisau yang berputar secara berlawanan. Dari hasil analisa di peroleh daya tekan kelapa sebesar 175 N dan di berikan beban kelapa menghasilkan sebesar 15,298 Watt,  penggerak motor listrik dengan daya sebesar 5pk dengan putaran 2400 rpm, untuk torsi sebesar 12,68 Nm.Kata kunci: Daya, Diameter, Gaya putaran dan waktu pengupasanABSTRACTCoconut fruit is a type of plant that is large in size, coconut plants are widely available in tropical climates. Most of the farmers from the coastal areas and in the mountains are grown and cultivated in tropical areas. Coconut plant is also a versatile plant. Manual coconut husk peeler is less effective because it still uses human labor as the main source of energy and has a small working capacity. Coir peeling machine that has a knife that functions to tear coconut husk, a knife that rotates in a variety of ways. From the analysis, the compressive force of the coconut is 175 N and a coconut load of 17.5 kg is given so that the coconut husk can be peeled for the power of the coconut husk peeler to produce 15,298 Watt, electric motor drive with a power of 5pk (3728.5 Watt).
