Abstract

Pantai Lampuuk adalah salah satu tempat konservasi yang terdapat di kecamatan Lhoknga kabupaten Aceh Besar, dengan luas wilayah pantai lampuuk lebih kurang  3 km yang merupakan salah satu  lokasi pendaratan penyu untuk bertelur pada setiap musim timur yaitu mulai dari bulan November-Maret disetiap tahunnya. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini dapat mengetahui langsung hubungan kedalaman sarang semi alami terhadap persentase penetasan telur penyu. Dilakukan di tempat konservasi penyu Babah Dua Lampuuk Aceh Besar, Penelitian ini mulai dari 01 Desember 2020 sampai 18 Febuari 2021. Kedalaman sarang sesuai dengan jumlah telur yang didapatkan. Didapatkan 3 sarang penyu alami dari dua spesies, sarang pertama penyu belimbing, sarang kedua penyu  lekang, dan sarang ketiga penyu belimbing. Pada sarang pertama kedalaman 50-60 cm berjumlah 70 butir presentase penetasannya sebesar 60%, sedangkan pada sarang kedua dengan kedalaman 50-58 cm berjumlah 50 butir presentase penetasannya sebesar 88%.

Abstract

Enam dari tujuh jenis penyu yang ada di dunia dapat ditemukan di Indonesia salah satunya jenis penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea). Perubahan kondisi alam, predasi dan tingginya eksploitasi yang dilakukan oleh manusia telah membawa populasi penyu lekang kepada kondisi yang terancam. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu metode konservasi yang efektif guna membantu pertumbuhan populasi pada biota penyu. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengukur efektifitas kegiatan pemantauan habitat peneluran berbasis masyarakat adat di pantai Panga serta pengaruhnya terhadap tingkat keberhasilan peneluran  pada penyu lekang. Pengamatan dilaksanakan di pantai Panga, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya. Metode yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah metode observasi pada kegiatan pemantauan dan metode percobaan pengamatan langsung pada proses relokasi dan sarang buatan. Hasil yang ditemukan menunjukan tingkat efektifitas terhadap kegiatan pemantauan berbasis adat yang dilakukan oleh tim konservasi pantai Panga. Hal ini ditandai dengan ditemukannya dua sarang peneluran penyu dari hasil pemantauan yang dilakukan di sepanjang pantai Panga. Hasil pengamatan terhadap sarang buatan juga menunjukan persentase keberhasilan penetasan yang tinggi dari telur yang telah ditanam kembali dari hasil pemantauan. Sarang buatan yang didesain menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 97,33%. Adanya kegiatan monitoring dan relokasi telah terbukti dapat membantu upaya pelestarian penyu lekang dari ancaman kepunahan.

Abstract

Plankton sangat berpengaruh terhadap keanekaragaman hidup biota karena memegang peranan sebagai komponen utama rantai makanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan jenis-jenis plankton di perairan Desa Rigaih. Penelitian dimulai pada tanggal 10-03-2021 sampai dengan 10-04-2021. Penentuan stasiun menggunakan metode purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 4 (empat) stasiun pengamatan. Pengambilan sampel air menggunakan plankton net. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keanekaragaman plankton terdapat perbedaan di setiap stasiun. Fitoplankton paling banyak ditemukan pada Kelas Bacillariophyceae sebanyak 11 jenis yaitu Hemiaulus sp., Chaetoceros sp., Coscinodiscrus sp., Detonula sp., Guinardia sp., Grammatophora sp. Leptocylindrus sp 1., Leptocylindrus sp 2., Rhizosolenia sp 1., Rhizosolenia sp 2., dan Stephanapyxis sp. Fitoplankton paling sedikit adalah Kelas Dynophyceae sebanyak 1 spesies yaitu Peridinium sp., dan Kelas Cyanophyceae sebanyak 3 spesies yaitu Certiium sp., Oscillatoria sp., dan Trichodesmium sp. Zooplankton terbanyak ditemukan pada Kelas Crustacea yaitu 2 spesies antara lain Nauplius sp dan Acartia sp. Kelas Cepepoda sebanyak 2 spesies yaitu Oithona sp., dan Calanus sp. Zooplankton paling sedkit adalah Kelas Maxillopoda sebanyak 1 spesies yaitu Cylopoid sp. Parameter kualitas perairan di Desa Rigaih memiliki suhu berkisar 25,1-280C, kecerahan 16,1 -18,2 m, pH 5,8 -7,8, oksigen terlarut 6,29- 9,23 Mg/L, dan salinitas berkisar 30,0 -32,0 ppt sehingga plankton dapat hidup dan berkembang secara baik .

Abstract

Plastic waste is one type of waste that is not easily biodegradable and is not environmentally friendly. Plastic waste is still a major problem for the community that has not been resolved because of the low level of recycling and the lack of proper handling in the community and schools. The purpose of this activity is as an effort to overcome plastic waste in the Meulaboh State 6 Elementary School (SD) in West Aceh by providing education about ecobric practices and creating positive vibes for students to manage plastic waste into something useful. This educational activity is carried out in two stages, namely the preparation (search of information on the location of the activity implementation and coordination with partners) and the implementation stage (socialization and ecobric practices). The training for partners was carried out using lecture methods, interactive discussions and hands-on practice of making ecobricks with students at SD Negeri 6 Meulaboh, Aceh Barat. The output of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of elementary school students through ecobric practices to manage plastic waste around their environment into something useful in everyday life. The conclusion of this activity is that ecobric education is able to minimize the impact of plastic waste through creative, educational and sustainable management, as well as raise awareness of protecting the environment by generating positive vibes from an early age to students. Education and training on making ecobricks at SDN 6 Meulaboh was able to reduce plastic waste in the environment by 11.37 kg.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of application of different stocking densities in  budikdamber system on the survival rate and growth of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal). The non-factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) used in this study consisted of four treatments and three tests. The treatments studied were the application of a stocking density of 5 fishes/container (P1), 10 fishes/container (P2), 15 fishes/container (P3), and  20 fishes/container (P4). The silver catfish used in this study was 6-8 cm in size. The maintenance period of silver catfish in this study was in 40 days. The research parameters that measured in this study were survival rate, absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate and water quality. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that different stocking densities on rearing media with the “Budikdamber” system had no significant effect for survival rate, absolute weight growth and specific growth rate of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal), but had a significant effect on absolute length of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal). The best stocking density to increase the absolute length growth of silver catfish is 15 fishes / container (P3) in number 7.36 cm.

Abstract

Pusat Restorasi dan Pembelajaran Mangrove adalah sebuah program yang dibentuk oleh Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan Republik Indonesia dan bertujuan untuk merehabilitasi ekosistem mangrove yang melibatkan masyarakat dalam pengelolaannya serta menjaga dan memelihara ekosistem mangrove dengan dijadikannya tempat sarana edukasi, penelitian maupun wisata. Penelitian dilakukan pada tahun 2022 di Pusat Restorasi dan Pembelajaran Mangrove Kabupaten Simeulue. Parameter yang diamati yaitu kerapatan mangrove, persentase tutupan kanopi dan tinggi pohon mangrove. Analisis data foto hemisphere menggunakan aplikasi Image J untuk mendapatkan nilai persentase tutupan kanopi, Pengukuran tinggi pohon menggunakan aplikasi protractor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  kerapatan pohon mangrove tergolong dalam kategori sedang dan jarang dengan status baik dan rusak. Berdasarkan persentase tutupan kanopi tergolong status baik dengan persentase tutupan kanopi kategori sedang. Distribusi tinggi pohon mangrove terbagi ke dalam 7 kelas dimana setiap stasiun didominasi oleh kelas ketinggian yang berbeda-beda. The Mangrove Restoration and Learning Center is a program established by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia and aims to rehabilitate mangrove ecosystems that involve the community in their management and maintain and maintain mangrove ecosystems by making them a place for education, research, and tourism. The research was conducted in 2022 at the Mangrove Restoration and Learning Center, Simeulue Regency. Parameters observed were mangrove density, percentage of canopy cover, and mangrove tree height. Hemispheric photo data analysis used the Image J application to get the percentage value of canopy cover, tree height measurements were made using the protractor application. Based on the percentage of canopy cover, it is classified as good status with the percentage of canopy cover being in the medium category. The distribution of mangrove tree height is divided into 7 classes where different altitude classes dominate each station.

Highlight Research The current condition coverage percentage of coral reefs in the waters of Gosong Island was 55% Percentage of dead coral with algae founded on Gosong Island is 28% On Gosong Island there are 11 families, namely Acroporidae, Agariciidae, Faviidae, Fungiidae, Merulinidae , Mussidae, Dendrophylliidae, Oculinidae, Pectiniidae, Pocilloporidae and Poritidae Abstract The coral reef ecosystem is an important ecosystem; its existence has a very close relationship with the surrounding ecosystem and the reef fish community. The direct and indirect dependence of reef fish on coral reefs has become an important issue at the national and international levels. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of coral reef ecosystem conditions, the percentage of coral growth, identify the types of coral reefs, and the diversity of reef fish species on Gosong Island, Southwest Aceh. Coral reef biophysical characteristics were collected by measuring water quality, calculating the percentage of coral coverage using the Point Intercept Transect (PIT) method, and the abundance of reef fish using the Underwater Fish Visual Census (UFVC) method. The condition of average percentage of coral reefs in the waters of Gosong Island was in a good category (55%), found as many as 31 genera of hard corals included in the line transect. The percentage of base substrate that dominates other than live coral is dead coral with algae (DCA) of 28%. The average abundance of reef fish in Gosong Island waters is 11,260 ind/ha with an average reef fish biomass of 2074,095 kg/yield. The water quality results show good conditions for coral growth in location. Based on the analysis of the structure of the fish community found in the coral reef area, the results showed good results, so the research location became a good habitat for various types of fish associated with coral reef ecosystems on Gosong Island

Abstract

Highlight Research Alginate content produced by Sargassum cristaefolium in three different parts of the thallus has food grade quality. The alginate chemical profile of cristaefolium in three different thallus part had a significant effect. Antioxidant activity of cristaefolium extract was in the moderate category. Antibacterial activity of cristaefolium extract against aquatic pathogenic bacteria has moderate and strong effectiveness. Abstract Sargassum, an ubiquitous variant of algae in North Sumatera, has grown wildly on Pane Island with the type, namely, Sargassum cristaefolium. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of alginates, antioxidative ability, and antibacterial ability. Alginate was extracted via the acid pathway method from three different parts of the thallus and was then characterized physically and chemically. Antioxidant activity using the DPPH method and the total phenol with a gallic acid standard. Antibacterial activity using the well diffusion method. The characteristics of alginate include yields of 53.61% ± 2.21%, viscosity of 11.44 ± 1.54 cPs, whiteness index of 56.55 ± 1.71, acidity degrees of 9.83 ± 0.34, moisture content of 9.63% ± 0.53%, ash content of 23.17% ± 0.76%, Pb and Hg levels of 0.065 ± 0.01 ppm, 0.034 ± 0.003 ppm. The IC50 value of antioxidant activity being 134.408 ± 0.04 ppm, moderate category. Extract concentration of 8 mL can inhibit the E. coli and E. tarda with inhibitions of 10.60 ± 0.72, 14.03 ± 2.97 mm. Although other pathogenic bacteria can be inhibited optimally at an extract concentration of 10 mL with inhibitions of 11.03 ± 1.43, 9.07 ± 0.20, 11.20 ± 1.56, 12.80 ± 3.01 mm. Alginates isolated in S.cristaefolium from Pane Island met food grade standards except for its viscosity. S. cristaefolium from Pane Island is a moderate antioxidant. Likewise, its antibacterial ability was moderate however it was strong against aquatic gram-negative bacteria.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman jenis mangrove disetiap daerah berbeda-beda. Hal ini dikarenakan karakteristik lingkungan yang berbeda antara satu daerah dengan daerah lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis mangrove di Pantai Lam Naga, Kecamatan Meureubo, Aceh Barat. Pengumpulan data jenis mangrove dilakukan dengan pencacahan jenis-jenis mangrove di kedua stasiun pengamatan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekosistem mangrove di Pantai Lam Naga disusun oleh 7 jenis mangrove yang terdiri atas 5 jenis mangrove sejati dan 2 jenis mangrove asosiasi. Jenis-jenis mangrove sejati yang ditemukan yaitu Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, Nypa fruticans dan Acrostichum speciosum. Sedangkan jenis mangrove asosiasi yaitu Hibiscus tiliaceus dan Pandanus odoratissima. Keanekaragaman jenis mangrove tergolong rendah dibandingkan dengan daerah lainnya.

Abstract

Mangrove ecotourism is an environmentally friendly tourism object where the tourism prioritizes aspects of the natural beauty of the mangrove forest and the fauna that live around it without destroying it. Ecotourism is a form of tourism that is responsible for the preservation of natural areas, provides economic benefits and maintains the cultural integrity of the local community (Fandeli, 2000). Management of ecosystem mangrove is very important to maintain and preserve the mangrove ecosystem. The purpose of the study was to determine the ecotourism potential that exists in the Aceh Jaya Mangrove Ecotourism Area and to determine the ecotourism management strategy in the Aceh Jaya Mangrove Ecotourism Area. This research is important to do to find how to management of ecosystem mangrove in Aceh Jaya in tourism mangrove area of developing ecotourism areas so that mangrove ecotourism can develop at this time.   Aceh Jaya District has a mangrove area of 500 hectares. Mangrove ecotourism has enormous potential to be developed into a tourist spot because it has six types of mangroves including Rhizopora mukronata, Rhizopora apiculata, Rhizopora stylosa, Bruguiera cylindrical, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, and Nypah fruticans. There are mainland fauna such as birds, monitor lizards, lizards, snakes, and monkeys, as well as aquatic fauna of long-snout swordfish, sepat fish, slugs, oysters, crabs, and shellfish. Mangrove ecotourism in Aceh Jaya has been used for various purposes such as for research, providing job opportunities for local communities and as a source of livelihood for local communities. The community-based management strategy of the Aceh Jaya mangrove ecotourism area means involving the community in the planning, implementation, and management of ecotourism businesses in all activities carried out. Mangrove ecotourism has 2 small boats, libraries, trekking (bridges), mangrove nursery houses and tour guides who are responsible for providing instructions, companions and serving tourists.
