Abstract

Kegiatan sosialisasi bahaya penyalahgunaan narkoba pada SMIP Yayasan USI Pematang siantar bertujuan agar peserta didik dapat memahami dampak yang timbul dari penggunaan narkoba( fisik, psikis maupun sosial ekonomi). Sosialisasi ini menggunakan metode partisipatif, ceramah dan diskusi. kegiatan sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 april 2023 dengan jumlah peserta sosialisasi terdiri dari 25 orang peserta didik dan 10 orang guru yang berlokasi di aula SMIP Yayasan USI. Melalui kegiatan sosialisasi bahaya penyalahgunaan narkoba ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang jenis-jenis narkotika, dampak penyalahgunaan narkoba dari aspek fisik, psikis, pendidikan, sosial dan ekonomi serta cara pencegahan dan penanggulangannya. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini bermanfaat membentengi generasi muda sebagai generasi penerus bangsa khususnya peserta didik SMIP Yayasan USI dari bahaya penyalahgunaan narkoba

Abstract

The method used in this study is a qualitative research method carried out by means of literature studies or library research that examines relevant theories.Learning in elementary schools in this study uses integrated thematic learning. This study aims to determine the effect of teacher creativity in integrated thematic learning on increasing students' learning interest in elementary schools. The results of this study indicate that integrated thematic learning greatly influences student learning interest, because thematic learning aims to increase students' understanding of concepts meaningfully. In this thematic learning students are required to be more active and think critically as well as in the student centered learning process. For this reason, teachers must be creative in implementing integrated thematic learning in order to achieve increased student interest in learning

Abstract

This study examines the pattern of adaptation and socio-cultural change of Toba Batak migrants in Pematangsiantar City. The territorial mobility of Toba Batak migrants, which is permanent and expansionist, affects their adaptation patterns, socio-cultural changes, and settlements after they become migrants in new areas. The method used to analyze data about the pattern of adaptation and socio-cultural change of the Toba Batak people used descriptive qualitative methods. Through this method, it is hoped that it will be able to answer research problems. The population in this study were all Toba Batak migrants living in Pematangsiantar City. Informants in this study were 12 people consisting of 5 people from Toba Batak traditional leaders and one person for comparison with Simalungun traditional leaders, one person in Angkola, one person for Javanese, one person for Malay, one person for Mining, one person for Karo, and one person for Chinese. . Data were collected through in-depth interviews combined with library data. The results of the interviews were collected, tabulated, analyzed, verified, and displayed to conclude. The results showed that the pattern of adaptation and socio-cultural change experienced by Toba Batak migrants was influenced by the cultural background of Pematangsiantar City, namely Simalungun culture as the host culture, and other cultures that were not dominant. Toba Batak migrants adapt in Pematangsiantar City to local culture but retain most of their socio-cultural values, even though they become migrants and settle in Pematangsiantar City

Abstract

This community service aims to provide practical guidelines for teachers in introducing and implementing the Intruduction-Based Learning Model (PBI) to shape students' characters who are concerned about cleanliness. Through a series of steps, this program presents a structured approach to introduce the PBI concept, identify cleanliness issues, design relevant learning activities, and integrate cleanliness principles into the curriculum. Additionally, the program highlights the importance of collaboration between schools and communities in raising awareness of environmental cleanliness. Through advanced training for teachers and long-term impact measurement, it is expected that this program can create sustainable changes in student behavior and environmental conditions in schools and communities. Thus, this community service makes a significant contribution to strengthening character education and cleanliness culture among students and communities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of historical thinking construction in courses within the History Education Study Program at Simalungun University. Historical thinking is an essential skill that history students must master, encompassing the understanding of chronology, cause-effect analysis, and the interpretation of historical events' meaning in the context of the past and their relevance to the present. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, interviews with lecturers and students, and document analysis such as syllabi and coursework. The findings indicate that the implementation of historical thinking is not yet fully optimal. Most teaching focuses on memorizing the chronology of events, figures, and places without involving in-depth analysis or connecting events to broader contexts. For instance, common assignments include summarizing readings or creating concept maps, which tend to insufficiently challenge students' skills in interpretation and critical thinking. However, in some courses, such as Indonesian History, lecturers have made efforts to use reflective approaches, such as analytical discussions on the impact of colonialism on local social dynamics. The main obstacles identified are a lack of in-depth understanding of the concept of historical thinking among both lecturers and students, as well as limited access to relevant and contextual learning resources. Therefore, this study recommends developing training for lecturers on implementing historical thinking-based teaching strategies, increasing access to learning resources that support historical analysis, and designing more challenging assignments to enhance students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to increase participation and interest in learning geography in students of class XI Social 1 at Private High School Abdi Sejati Commerce through the Game-Based Learning approach on biosphere materials. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles, involving 30 students. The results showed that 93.33% of students found the geography learning carried out very interesting, and 86.67% agreed that the Game-Based Learning method could be applied to other subjects. The average achievement of learning scores increased from 55 in the initial condition to 81.46 in the second cycle. In addition, the presentation of students' learning interests also increased from 50% to 93.33%. These findings indicate that Game-Based Learning type cooperative learning strategies are effective in increasing students' interest and learning outcomes, as well as fostering the ability to cooperate and think critically

Abstract

Bullying merupakan permasalahan serius yang dapat berdampak negatif terhadap perkembangan psikologis, sosial, dan akademik siswa. Lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan inklusif menjadi faktor penting dalam mencegah perilaku bullying serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang nyaman bagi seluruh siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman guru serta siswa mengenai pentingnya pencegahan dan penanganan bullying melalui sosialisasi anti-bullying. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SD Negeri 094147 Sibungabunga dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi interaktif. Metode ceramah digunakan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang definisi, bentuk, faktor penyebab, dampak, serta strategi pencegahan bullying. Sedangkan diskusi interaktif diterapkan agar peserta dapat lebih aktif dalam memahami materi melalui berbagi pengalaman dan pemecahan kasus secara bersama-sama. Guru dibekali dengan strategi pengelolaan kelas yang mendukung inklusivitas dan pencegahan bullying, sementara siswa diajak untuk memahami pentingnya sikap empati, keberanian melaporkan kasus bullying, serta menciptakan budaya sekolah yang saling menghargai. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memiliki peningkatan pemahaman terkait bullying serta kesadaran akan peran mereka dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman. Melalui pendekatan ini, diharapkan budaya anti-bullying dapat terus dikembangkan dan diterapkan secara berkelanjutan di sekolah, sehingga tercipta lingkungan belajar yang lebih positif, nyaman, dan inklusif bagi seluruh siswa.

Abstract

Fungsi Dan Makna Hiou Pada Acara Pernikahan Adat Simalungun Di Nagori Negeri Dolok Kecamatan Silou Kahean Kabupaten Simalungun, Skripsi, Jurusan Pendidikan IPS Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Simalungun. Hiou adalah sejenis pakaian seni yang terbuat dari potongan kain khas Batak, memiliki corak dan dimensi tertentu, dan berfungsi sebagai pelindungan bagi tubuh. hiou mulai dikenal bersamaan dengan masuknya alat tenun di Indonesia dari Indonesia. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa sebelum adanya alat tenun, masyarakat Batak. Nama hiou Batak merujuk pada ukuran besaran hiou, serta teknik pembuatan dan pengecetan hiasan pada hiou. Masalah utama dalam penelitian adalah apa itu fungsi dan makna hiou dalam konteks pernikahan adat Simalungun di Nagori Negeri Dolog Kecamatan Silou Kahean Kabupaten Simalungun dengan mengetahui fungsi dan makna hiou dalam konteks pernikahan adat Simalungun di Nagori Negeri Dolog Kecamatan Silou Kahean Kabupaten Simalungun. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatatan studi kasus. Studi kasus yang merupakan bagian dari metode kualitatif yang hendak mendalami suatu kasus tertentu secara lebih mendalam dengan melibatkan pengumpulan beraneka sumber informasi. Creswell mendefinisikan studi kasus sebagai suatu eksplorasi dari sistem-sistem terkait atau kasus. Suatu kasus menarik untuk diteliti karena corak khas kasus tesebut yang memiliki arti pada orang lain, minimal bagi peneliti. Menurut Patton, studi kasus adalah studi tentang kekhususan dan kompleksitas suatu kasus tunggal dan berusaha untuk mengerti kasus tersebut dalam konteks, situasi dan waktu tertentu. Ditambahkannya juga bahwa studi kasus ini dilakukan karena kasus tersebut begitu unik, penting, bermanfaat bagi pembaca dan masyarakat pada umumnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian fungsi dan makna hiou yang di pakai si pengantin di adat pernikahan itu bahwa si pengantin sudah menjadi orang tua tidak menjadi pemuda lagi, dan menjadi lebih dewasa, dari cara berbicara, dan tingkah lakunya, bahwa sudah di dewasakan setelah di pakaikan hiou adat Simalungun. Hiou Simalungun melambangkan sebuah ikatan kasih sayang antara seseorang dengan orang yang lainnya. Manghioui (memberikan hiou) melambangkan pemberian kehangatan dan kasih sayang kepada penerima hiou. Dalam kepercayaan orang Batak, jiwa (tondi) pun perlu di hioui, sehingga kaum lelaki yang berjiwa keras mempunyai sifat kesejahteraan

Abstract

The evolving landscape of education demands innovative teaching practices, with Guru Penggerak playing a pivotal role in implementing differentiated learning strategies and fostering students’ social-emotional competencies, particularly in Integrated Social Studies. This study aims to explore how Guru Penggerak contributes to creating inclusive and adaptive learning environments that respond to students' diverse characteristics while supporting their emotional and interpersonal development. A qualitative research design was employed, using document analysis from academic journals, official reports, and relevant literature to identify key practices, enabling factors, and barriers encountered in the field. The findings reveal that the success of differentiated instruction is largely influenced by the teacher's ability to recognize and respond to varied learning styles. Approximately 70% of students reported increased motivation when instructional strategies aligned with their individual preferences. Additionally, structured efforts to build social-emotional competencies resulted in enhanced student well-being, classroom harmony, and increased engagement. These findings highlight the importance of empowering teachers through continuous professional development to strengthen their pedagogical and socio-emotional facilitation skills. The study provides valuable insights for educational stakeholders to support Guru Penggerak programs and reinforce the integration of differentiated learning and emotional intelligence in curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah peserta didik kelas X SMK Al Washliyah Dolok Ulu. Terdapat 2 hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu, (1) ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah peserta didik kelas X SMK Alwashliyah Dolok Ulu (H1) dan (2) tidak ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah peserta didik kelas X SMK Al Washliyah Dolok Ulu (H0). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian pre-exsperimental design dengan desain penelitian one group pre-test post-test design. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 24 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara melakukan tes dan dokumentasi, data penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data uji T yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa hasil thitung sebesar 10,4sedangkan ttabel 1,714 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Maka dari dikatakan bahwa thitung> ttabel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang didapat maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah peserta didik kelas X SMK Al Washliyah Dolok Ulu. Ini berarti H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak
