Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the relationship between democratic parenting style and school readiness among first-grade students at SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. The research aims to examine whether a correlation exists between the two variables. Data were collected through questionnaires and the Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST). The sample comprised 66 students selected using accidental sampling. The data analysis involved Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient in SPSS 26.0. The results indicate a significant positive correlation (rxy = 0.662, p = 0.000) between democratic parenting style and school readiness. Higher levels of democratic parenting style correspond to higher levels of school readiness among first-grade students. These findings imply that parents who adopt a democratic parenting style contribute to their children's preparedness for elementary school. The study suggests that schools provide training on the importance of parenting styles, particularly democratic parenting, to foster children's potential as they enter elementary school. Highlight: Positive correlation: The study reveals a significant positive correlation (rxy = 0.662, p = 0.000) between democratic parenting style and school readiness among first-grade students. Impact of democratic parenting: Higher levels of democratic parenting style are associated with higher levels of school readiness among children entering elementary school. Implications for schools and parents: The findings emphasize the importance of implementing democratic parenting styles to foster children's readiness for school. Schools should provide training to parents on the benefits of democratic parenting to optimize children's potential as they transition to elementary school. Abstract

This quantitative correlational study aims to examine the relationship between religiosity and work stress among teachers in SDN Krembung District. The sample consisted of 148 teachers selected using incidental sampling. Data analysis included normality test, linearity test, and simple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 20 for Windows program. The findings revealed a negative relationship between religiosity and work stress among SDN teachers in Krembung District, with a significant correlation coefficient of -0.205 (p = 0.006 < 0.05). These results support the researcher's hypothesis, indicating that higher levels of religiosity are associated with lower work stress. However, it is important to note that religiosity explains only 3.5% of the variation in work stress, with 96.5% influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The limitations of this research include the pandemic-related time constraints and the focus solely on the variable of religiosity without considering other potential correlates of work stress. The implications of this study suggest the importance of promoting religiosity among teachers through activities such as collective prayers before classes, weekly istiqosah (spiritual gathering), and annual nature contemplation. These activities can help reduce work stress and inspire new teaching ideas, benefiting both teachers and schools in SDN Krembung District. Highlight: Negative relationship: The study found a negative relationship between religiosity and work stress among teachers in SDN Krembung District. Sample: The study included 148 teachers from SDN in Krembung sub-district, providing valuable insights into the local context. Abstract

This descriptive quantitative research aimed to investigate the readiness of grade 1 elementary school students to enter primary education in the Jabon sub-district. A sample of 102 students out of a total population of 110 was selected using non-probability accidental sampling. Data analysis, employing the SPSS 17.0 for Windows program, involved descriptive statistics to assess school readiness based on measures such as mode, mean, median, standard deviation, and variance range. The findings revealed that among grade 1 students at SD Jabon Sidoarjo District, 85.3% (87 students) exhibited high readiness, 8.8% (9 students) demonstrated sufficient readiness, and 5.9% (6 students) displayed less readiness to enter elementary school. These results shed light on the preparedness of children for formal education and have implications for educational stakeholders in fostering optimal learning environments and supporting students' smooth transition to elementary school. Highlights: The study examined the readiness of grade 1 students to enter elementary school, providing insights into their preparedness for formal education. A significant majority of grade 1 students (85.3%) demonstrated high readiness, emphasizing the positive foundation for their academic journey. The findings have implications for educational stakeholders, highlighting the importance of creating supportive learning environments and facilitating a smooth transition into elementary school. Abstract

This correlational quantitative study investigates the impact of TikTok social media usage intensity on academic learning motivation among elementary school students. Using a sample of 80 students from grades 4, 5, and 6, selected through accidental sampling, the research employed TikTok usage intensity scales and an academic learning motivation scale based on self-determination theory. Data analysis with Pearson correlation in JASP software revealed a significant negative relationship between TikTok usage intensity and students' learning motivation, supporting the hypothesis. Recommendations include implementing social media regulations in educational settings and promoting awareness among students, parents, and educators about the potential adverse effects of excessive TikTok use. Future research could explore this topic further with more sophisticated methodologies to enhance understanding. Highlight: Quantitative approach reveals significant negative correlation. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and motivation to seek work on job readiness in youth of Keper village Sidoarjo. This is based on the phenomenon of the lack of job specialization after high school. This study used a quantitative correlation method. This study consists of three variables, namely the dependent variable (dependent variable), namely: work readiness variable (Y). While the independent variable (free variable), namely; variable social support and motivation to find work as the X variable. Respondents in this study amounted to 60 subjects from a population of 60 people using the Saturated Sample Technique in sample selection. Data analysis uses inferential statistical techniques, namely multiple regression analysis. The results show that there is a significant relationship between social support to job-seeking motivation and job readiness in youth of Keper Village, Sidoarjo.

Abstract

The research was conducted because of the phenomenon of the readiness of school children to enter elementary school which was carried out by grade 1 children of public elementary schools in Trompoasri village. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between elementary school readiness and achievement motivation of public elementary school students in Trompoasri village, Sidoarjo. The hypothesis put forward is that there is a positive relationship between children's readiness to enter elementary school and achievement motivation in grade 1 elementary school students. The sample in this study amounted to 49 students. Sampling was carried out using accidental sampling technique. Data analysis used the product moment correlation technique from Pearson with the hellp of the SPSS 26.0 program. The results of the analysis of this study show a correlation coefficients of rxy = 0.334 (significance 0.019 <0.05), which means that the research hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is a positive relationship between children's readiness to enter primary school and achievement motivation in grade 1 students at SDN Trompoasri Village. This means that the higher the child's readiness to enter elementary school, the higher the achievement motivation, and vice versa, the lower the child's readiness to enter elementary school, the lower the achievement motivation.

Abstract

A company is expected to create a comfortable and conducive working atmosphere so that employee job satisfaction can increase and create a good organizational climate. This is the background of this research. This study aims to determine "The Relationship between Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction of Indomaret Retail Store Employees in the Sidoarjo Region". The X variable is Organizational Climate and the Y variable is Job Satisfaction. The sample in this study were Indomaret retail store employees in Sidoarjo, which are located in 3 sub-districts, namely, Porong, Tanggulangin, and Candi with a total of 191 employees. The cluster sampling technique was used in this study with a scale-building model, namely the job satisfaction scale and the organizational climate scale. On the job satisfaction scale it was found that the validity value moved from 0.082 to 0.599 and the results of the job satisfaction scale reliability test obtained the Alpha Cronbach's reliability coefficient of 0.902 with a total of 34 valid items. While the organizational climate scale found validity values ​​that moved from 0.065 to 0.391 and the results of the organizational climate scale reliability test obtained Alpha Cronbach's reliability coefficient of 0.916 with a total of 34 valid items. The method used in this research is descrptive qualitative with the help of SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of data analysis on the organizational climate scale with the job satisfaction scale obtained rxy = 0.694 with a sig. 0.000 <0.050 which means the hypothesis can be interpreted that there is a significant relationship between organizational climate and job satisfaction.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of low readiness of students to enter elementary school in grade 1 students of SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. This study aims to determine the relationship between parental involvement and children's readiness to enter elementary school in grade 1 SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. This type of research is correlational quantitative. The variables in this study are parental involvement as the independent variable and children's readiness to enter elementary school as the dependent variable. The population of this research is 66 students. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling, namely saturated sampling. Data were collected using a psychological scale with the Likert scale model and the NST test kit, namely the parental involvement scale and the NST test kit for children's readiness to enter elementary school. Analysis of the data in this study used the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique with the help of the SPSS 26.0 for windows program. The results of the correlation analysis obtained a correlation coefficient of rxy = 0.461 (significance 0.000 <0.05) meaning that the research hypothesis was accepted, namely that there was a significant positive relationship between the variable parental involvement and the variable readiness of children to enter elementary school in grade 1 SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Data analysis used descriptive analysis to find a picture of children's school readiness based on the value of the mode, mean, median, standard deviation, range of variance, and so on and then the data obtained was processed using the SPSS 17.0 for Windows program. Based on the results of the study, if the description of the readiness of children to enter elementary school in grade 1 students at SD Jabon Sidoarjo District, 85.3% (87 students) had high readiness to enter elementary school, 8.8% (9 students) had sufficient readiness to enter elementary school. 5.9% (6 students) are less ready to enter primary school.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan karena adanya fenomena siswa yang belum memiliki kesiapan masuk sekolah dasar pada siswa kelas 1 SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis orang tua dengan kesiapan anak masuk sekolah dasar pada siswa kelas 1 di SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah hubungan pola asuh demokratis orang tua dengan kesiapan anak masuk sekolah dasar pada siswa kelas 1 SD. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan mengambil sumber data melalui hasil angket dan instrument tes NST (Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test). Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 66 siswa dari jumlah populasi 70 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data menggunakan teknik kolerasi product moment dari pearson dengan bantuan Program spss 26.0. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan koefisien kolerasi rxy = 0,662 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, hal ini berarti terdapat hubungan yang positif antara pola asuh demokratis orang tua dengan kesiapan anak sekolah masuk sekolah dasar pada siswa kelas 1 di SD Negeri Sidokare 2 Sidoarjo. Artinya semakin tinggi pola asuh demokratis orang tua maka semakin tinggi pula kesiapan anak sekolah masuk sekolah dasar. Sebaliknya, semakin rendah pola asuh demokratis orang tua, maka semakin rendah pula kesiapan anak sekolah masuk sekolah dasar.
