Abstract

The background to this research is that other important things in implementing construction projects, apart from quality and time, are costs. The construction projects studied were road preservation projects carried out by construction service companies from 2015 to 2022. There were eighteen (18) road preservation projects studied throughout Indonesia, both on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. During implementation, there was an increase in costs (cost overrun) so that the company's profit target was not met and disrupted the performance of work completion. The purpose of this research is to determine the causes of the increase in implementation costs relative to the direct costs that have been determined so that repeated failures do not occur in implementing road preservation projects. This type of research is associative research with a quantitative approach. The variable used is cost overrun as the dependent variable. Meanwhile, the independent variables are estimated costs, materials, labor, equipment, project finances, project documents, implementation time, natural environment, implementation of work relations and economic feasibility as well as local sub-contractors.The data collection technique in this research used a questionnaire distributed to respondents, namely the project team of road preservation project managers, totaling 54 respondents from 2015 to 2022 at state companies in the construction services sector. The results of this research are that the factors causing cost overrun in road preservation projects are material variables, equipment variables and local sub-subcontractor variables. The dominant factors causing cost overruns in road preservation projects are first, the material variable with a regression coefficient of 0.554. Second, the local sub-subcontractor variable with a reference coefficient of 0.376. Lastly, the equipment variable has a regression coefficient of 0.271.

Abstract

Sehingga mengakibatkan daya dukung lingkungan semakin menurun.

Abstract

The Upper Cisadane watershed is a strategic area, having an important role in meeting domestic water needs along with population growth and regional development. This study aims to provide an overview of the distribution of domestic water demand by calculating based on district boundaries, watersheds, and built-up areas. The analysis includes the fulfillment of domestic water needs and mainstay discharge, with projections using the arithmetic method. The domestic water demand in each scenario (Scenario I: 3.875 m3/s, Scenario II: 2.755 m3/s, Scenario III: 0.624 m3/s) is presented. The results showed that water availability in the Batubeulah watershed is still surplus, with a minimum Q90% of 14.4 m3/s and a minimum Q95% of 7.6 m3/s, still sufficient to meet the total domestic water demand in all scenarios. Although the water balance between the mainstay discharge and domestic water demand is currently in the safe category. For the results of the projection analysis of scenarios I and II, it shows an increase every year, due to the specifications of the area used.

Abstract

Keywords : Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Land Surface Temperature (LST)

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia's high vulnerability to earthquakes, which often results in severe damage and casualties, necessitates disaster risk mitigation efforts based on science and technology. This community service activity aimed to improve disaster technology literacy and students' understanding of the working principles of earthquake-resistant structures. The focus was on introducing base isolator (earthquake damper) technology made from natural rubber for residential buildings. This activity was conducted at SMKN 26 Jakarta using interactive presentations, technology demonstrations, and participative discussion methods. An evaluation of understanding was administered to 66 participants using a pre-test and post-test design. The evaluation results showed that 100% of participants experienced an increase in understanding and knowledge after the activity. This indicates that the technology demonstration-based educational approach is effective in supporting disaster technology literacy at the vocational high school level.

Abstract

The construction industry, particularly in housing development, plays a strategic role in meeting the need for adequate housing, supporting economic growth, and improving the quality of life for communities. However, the implementation of housing projects faces complex challenges, such as pressure to meet high quality standards, tight schedules, and limited budgets. Factors such as communication aspects and leadership competence play a significant role in decision-making to enhance project performance. This study aims to analyze various factors that influence the quality and performance of projects in housing development, including the influence of communication and leadership competence in decision-making to improve project performance. In addition, this research also evaluates the relationship between decision-making and project performance, as well as the mediating role of decision-making in the relationship between communication aspects and leadership competence on project performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a Likert scale and analyzed using statistics. The analysis includes descriptive analysis and PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling), covering both the outer model and inner model measurements. The results of this study revealed a significant relationship between communication aspects and project leadership competencies on decision-making, as well as the impact of decision-making on overall project performance with a percentage of 73.6%. Furthermore, decision-making plays an important mediator in strengthening the relationship between the two variables of communication aspects and project leadership competencies with project performance with a percentage of 49.4%.

Abstract

The modernization of irrigation networks is a vital effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of water distribution for agriculture. This activity also represents the implementation of the government’s Asta Cita program in the context of national food security. One critical component of this process is excavation work, which significantly influences the success of such projects. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of several interpolation methods in calculating excavation volumes based on design data, compared to existing conditions, using a tolerance threshold of 2.78%. The analysis indicates that interpolation methods produce varying results. The Kriging method shows a deviation of 2.30%, and the Surface to Surface (TIN) method shows a deviation of only 0.02%, both of which fall within acceptable deviation limits. These two methods also demonstrate high consistency and optimal accuracy for volume estimation. In contrast, methods such as Natural Neighbor (18.89%) and Radial Basis Function (RBF) (46.17%) result in significant deviations, indicating overestimation or underestimation that affects volume accuracy. Therefore, methods like Kriging and TIN, which meet the tolerance limits, are recommended for more accurate and efficient volume calculations in construction and topographic mapping activities.

Abstract

Abstract

Suspended construction projects pose multidimensional challenges and necessitate accountable follow-up decision-making from the contractor’s perspective. This study develops a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) framework to determine the most appropriate alternative for continuing a suspended high-rise building project, using the Nines Plaza and Residence BSD as a case study. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to derive priority weights for nine decision criteria, while the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used to rank four decision alternatives for project continuation. Decision robustness is examined through contextual scenario variations, respondent clustering based on expertise, and sensitivity analysis of criterion dominance. The results indicate that cost and financing are the most influential criteria, and continuing the project through a strategic partnership (joint venture) emerges as the best alternative. Robustness testing confirms that the decision outcome is stable and not driven by a single dominant criterion, demonstrating that the integrated AHP–TOPSIS approach is a suitable decision-support tool for contractors dealing with suspended construction projects.
