Abstract

This study identifies and analyzes the main research areas related to green technical and vocational education training (TVET). It focuses on evaluating the extent of its integration into TVET programs. The research explores the link between green TVET, environmental sustainability, and its impact on human development, drawing on research and data from the past decade (2013-2023). This paper aims to offer readers an in-depth insight into progress and prospective developments, with a specific emphasis on the pedagogical approach in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and stakeholders' concerns in this domain. To achieve this goal, the study applied the Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA) method, combining bibliometric analysis techniques with a systematic literature review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach. This integrated approach utilizes objective measurements and algorithms to discern emerging themes and subjects to gain a thorough understanding of the current state of green TVET and potential paths for further integration to address environmental issues and enhance human capacity. The paper finds that green TVET positively affects learners' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors related to environmental sustainability, as well as their employability and career prospects in the green economy. It highlights challenges and gaps in implementing and evaluating green TVET, such as the lack of standardized definitions, indicators, and methodologies, insufficient integration of green competencies, and limited stakeholder involvement. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy and practice and directions for future research.

Abstract

The development of a green competencies-based model is an urgent need in supporting the integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into the vocational education curriculum. This research aims to validate the green competencies model through expert validation, to ensure its feasibility and relevance in supporting the vocational education curriculum. Forum Group Discussion (FGD) was adopted as this study tests the feasibility of the model. Content Validity Index (CVI) was used to analyze the expert feedback of each question. The results showed that the green competencies model plays a significant role in improving environmental awareness, technical skills, and sustainability values among the workforce and learners. The model received its feasibility value (1>0.83) and has been improved to perfect its construction elements as feedback for each criticism and suggestion, so it is ready to be used as a recommendation to be integrated in the vocational education curriculum. The development of this model is expected to be a guideline for vocational education institutions in developing ESD-based curriculum, as well as supporting the readiness of graduates to contribute to the green economy and create a sustainable future.

Abstract

Work-family conflict (WFC) is an important area of study in the vocational and human resources professions. This article investigates the complex dynamics of work-family conflict, with a particular focus on the developmental role of fathers in balancing professional responsibilities and family duties. This research uses bibliometric analysis methods and literature reviews to analyze the dynamics, research activities, and trends in research topics related to work-family conflict in a more comprehensive namely from 1985 to 2023. This research uses the keywords "work-family balance" OR "work-family conflict" OR "work-family intervention" and uses the Scopus database as the ideal data source for this research. Documents were visualized with VOSviewer and Tableau Desktop software to perform bibliometric analysis on publications, citations, and keywords. A literature review was also carried out regarding research objects, future work, and research gaps in areas that have not been touched by work-family conflict research, especially regarding the role of fathers in work and family life. December 6, 2023, 4405 documents from various types of scientific papers. Research findings show that in the last 38 years, there has been a significant increase in the number of publications discussing work-family conflict. The United States is the most productive country in publishing research related to work-family conflict. Keyword analysis shows that work-family conflict research focuses on the topics of father involvement, work-family balance, and gender. Future research should focus on exploring the impact of corporate policies, demographics, technology, and fatherhood, aiming to develop comprehensive workplace regulations that promote a balanced work-family environment.

Abstract

In the age of digital transformation, digital competence has become crucial for vocational educators to effectively align learning practices with the changing demands of the industry. This study aims to analyze the global development and thematic trends surrounding digital competence in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through a combined approach of bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature review, referred to as Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA). Utilizing Scopus as the primary database, the research retrieved 216 articles and employed bibliometric visualization tools (Bibliometrix, Biblioshiny, VOSviewer) alongside eligibility criteria-based screening for the systematic review. The results reveal three key insights: (1) significant connections between digital competence and the advancement of AI in vocational education, (2) the emerging importance of interaction and social competence in enhancing digital literacy, and (3) the limited yet essential integration of AI literacy within current digital competence frameworks. Two selected articles from the systematic literature review suggest that the combination of digital and social competencies is vital for preparing vocational teachers and students for the demands of a technology-driven workforce. This study underscores the necessity for a forward-looking digital competence framework that addresses the interplay between digital skills, social skills, and AI readiness within vocational education contexts.
