Abstract

This study examines the important role of maritime power and trade in supporting the political and economic supremacy of the Majapahit Kingdom during the reign of Hayam Wuruk (1350–1389 AD). Using historical literature research methods, this study went through four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the study show that Majapahit successfully integrated a strong maritime defense system with a structured trade network. The kingdom strategically positioned its naval forces in various maritime zones and optimized river infrastructure, particularly the Brantas and Bengawan Solo rivers, to connect inland production areas with major ports such as Canggu, Tuban, Gresik, and Surabaya. Additionally, Majapahit applied the diplomatic principle of Mitreka Satata in establishing peaceful and stable relations with regional and inter-regional kingdoms, such as China, India, and Southeast Asian nations. This approach created a safe and profitable trading environment. As a result, Majapahit emerged as a dominant maritime and commercial power in the 14th century, demonstrating that the maritime and trade sectors were the cornerstone of the kingdom's prosperity

Abstract

Based on the researcher's experience during the implementation of School Field Introduction 2 (PLP 2), it was found that learning was not yet optimal, as teachers only used one textbook and did not use supporting media or modules. The objectives of this study are: (1) to design and develop a digital flipbook-based learning module aimed at enhancing the learning interest of Grade XI students at SMKN 1 Kasihan, and (2) to evaluate the quality of the developed module in terms of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. The research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach, employing Robert Maribe Branch’s ADDIE model, which consists of five sequential phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection was conducted using two main instruments: questionnaires and written tests. The collected data were analyzed quantitatively. The findings reveal that: (1) with respect to product feasibility, the developed digital flipbook learning module has a “Very good” feasibility level with a score of “4,4”, (2) in terms of practicality, the developed digital flipbook learning module has a “very good” practicality level with a score of “4,71”, (3) in terms of effectiveness, the developed digital flipbbook learning module has an “Effective” level of effectiveness with a score percentage of “76,66%

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational systems has become a significant global phenomenon. This study is grounded in the integration of AI technology in primary education, which triggers shifts in the dynamics of student interaction with learning materials, alongside the unique infrastructural challenges faced by SD Advent Nabire. This study aims to explore student perceptions of AI and analyze changes in Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) patterns and reading literacy strategies. Employing a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that AI integration, facilitated by applications such as Cici or Dola, transforms student learning patterns toward greater independence via instant feedback mechanisms. However, a risk of dependency was identified, necessitating a transformation of the teacher's role from a transmitter of information to a critical facilitator, as well as highlighting the urgency of digital ethics policies to safeguard students' cognitive integrity. Abstract

In this study, the Results Chain technique was used to describe the implementation of a narrative writing habituation program in the History Social Studies subject in fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 116 Palembang. Two cycles of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection were used in the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. Thirty fifth-grade students and their Social Studies teachers served as subjects. Observations, narrative writing assessments, motivation surveys, and documentation were used to collect data. Qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods were then used for analysis. Based on the findings, the use of Results Chain successfully clarified the causal relationship between students' historical knowledge acquisition and writing practice activities. Between the first and second cycles, students' enthusiasm and writing participation increased from "sufficient" to "good" categories, and the average writing score increased from 73 to 85. Therefore, the use of the Results Chain-based narrative writing habituation program improved students' narrative writing skills and learning outcomes in the History Social Studies subject.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' interest in learning and critical thinking skills through the application of interactive map-based learning media in History lessons in Grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Prambanan Klaten. The background of this study is the low interest of students in learning history and the suboptimal critical thinking skills demonstrated by students during the learning process. This is due to the use of conventional learning methods that tend to be monotonous and do not actively involve students. Therefore, interactive maps are expected to be an alternative solution in creating an engaging and participatory learning environment. This study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method by Kemmis and McTaggart, consisting of two cycles. The research subjects are 35 students in Grade X J. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, interviews, written tests, and documentation. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The instruments used aim to measure improvements in students' learning interest and critical thinking skills during the learning process. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of interactive map-based learning media significantly improves students' learning interest and critical thinking skills. There was a gradual increase in students' learning interest, with the average score rising from 58.1 in the pre-cycle to 63.4 in cycle I, and reaching 72.3 in cycle II. The greater increase in cycle II indicates that students became more actively engaged and motivated as the learning process progressed. Similarly, critical thinking skills showed an increase in average scores from 66 in the pre-cycle to 71 in cycle I, and a sharp increase to 84 in cycle II. The drastic increase in the second cycle proves that interactive map-based learning media is effective in increasing students' interest in learning and critical thinking skills in history learning.

Abstract

This study examines the persistence and transformation of marriage beliefs within the Mangir community of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in the context of increasing modernization and social change. While modernization is often associated with the decline of traditional practices, local marriage traditions in Mangir continue to influence decision-making and social behavior across generations. This research aims to explore how marriage beliefs are maintained, legitimized, and negotiated within contemporary social contexts. A qualitative case study approach was employed to investigate the experiences, interpretations, and practices of community members. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving traditional leaders, village officials, married community members, and younger-generation residents. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of qualitative analysis consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that marriage beliefs persist through the interaction of collective memory, personal experience, family socialization, and traditional authority. Practices such as petungan (auspicious day calculations), ngalang (ritual detouring), restrictions associated with Wednesday Pon, and post-marital residential norms function as culturally embedded mechanisms for managing uncertainty and preserving social harmony. The study further demonstrates that younger generations do not simply reject traditional beliefs but actively negotiate them through adaptive strategies that accommodate modern educational, occupational, and mobility demands while maintaining cultural legitimacy. These findings suggest that tradition and modernity are not mutually exclusive but coexist through continuous processes of cultural adaptation and reinterpretation. The study contributes to broader discussions on cultural resilience, community-based risk management, local wisdom, and the sustainability of traditional institutions in contemporary society.
