Abstract

This article aims to: (1) explain the ethical politics and the origins of the Kweekschool establishment policy; (2) analyze the educational system and programs offered at Kweekschool; (3) examine the influence of Kweekschool on the social transformation of the native (bumiputra) community. This study employs a historical research method. The findings indicate that: (1) The ethical politics, formalized by Queen Wilhelmina in 1901, led to the implementation of the Kweekschoolplan in 1927, which facilitated the establishment of Kweekschool as a response to the need for local teachers; (2) Kweekschool offered various educational programs aimed at training different categories of teachers, including those for rural schools and for Vervolg schools; (3) The ethical politics contributed to a social transformation within the bumiputra community, as Kweekschool graduates, who formed the educated elite, played a significant role in the emergence of nationalist movements that contributed to Indonesia's struggle for independence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The history of the tradition of Ati Kebo Seunduhan at the marriage of the descendants of Demang Aryareja in the village of Grantung, Purbalingga. (2) The process of implementing the tradition of AtiKebo Seunduhan at the marriage of the descendants of Demang Aryareja in the village of Grantung, Purbalingga. (3) Cultural value contained in the tradition Ati Kebo Seunduhan at the marriage of the descendants of Demang Aryareja in the village of Grantung, Purbalingga. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. In this study, there are two types of data and data sources, namely primary data obtained through interviews and secondary data in the form of books, journals and theses. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclution and verification. The technique of checking the validity of the data used was source triangulation and theory triangulation. The result of this study indicate that: (1) The history of the tradition of AtiKeboSeunduhan on the marriage of the descendants of DemangAryareja has been carried out since the 19th century. (2) The process of implementing the Ati Kebo Seunduhan tradition begins with the purchase of buffalo hearts by men, the delivery of Ati Kebo Seunduhan to Demang Aryareja Cemetery and the distribution of Ati Kebo Seunduhan to relatives and neighbors. (3) The cultural values contained in the Ati Kebo Seunduhan tradition are the values of togetherness, kinship, and mutual cooperation.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: To know 1) The role of learning Social Studies History towards the cultivation of character values of love for the homeland in class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta. 2) To find out the function of learning social studies history of the character values of love for the homeland in class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta. 3) To find out how the cultivation of the character values of love for the country in the process of learning social studies. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method case study, techniques in data collection in this study using observation, interviews, documentation, and library research. Data analysis in this study uses data collection procedures, data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. Data validity checks in this study used triangulation of techniques and triangulation of sources. The results of this study indicate that Social Studies History subjects have a very important role in the cultivation of character education for the attitude of patriotism towards students, Character Education for patriotism has a role that has many benefits and functions both in the world of education and social society. So that students can understand and apply the attitude of love for the country. The function of Social Science History towards cultivating an attitude of love for the country includes fostering a sense of nationalism towards the state and nation. The process of cultivating an attitude of love for the homeland in learning Social Science History educators can insert important values about the attitude of love for the homeland during the learning process.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada masa Hindia Belanda masih menggunakan sistem pendidikan kolonial yang ideal. Melalui Institut Taman Siswa sebagai wadah perjuangan pendidikan nasional yang didirikan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara berkontribusi dalam pengembangan model pendidikan dan pengajarannya yang berbeda dengan model pendidikan kolonial Hindia Belanda sebagai langkah dalam tujuan Taman Siswa untuk memperjuangan pendidikan  yang lebih humanis terhadap seluruh rakyat Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tentang kontribusi taman siswa pada masa kolonial terkait dalam pengembangan model dan pengajarannya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Taman Siswa berkontribusi dalam pengembangan model pendidikan dan pengajarannya melalui Sistem Among dengan konsep tiga filosofi pendidikan Ki Hajar Dewantara lalu dengan tri pusat pendidikannya mampu menciptakan metode pengajarannya yang berpusat pada siswa. Dari hal-hal tersebut Taman Siswa telah berhasil menjadi institusi pendidikan yang berkontribusi dalam mengembangkan model pendidikan dan pengajaraanya pada masa Hindia Belanda yang kemudian filosofi pendidikannya masih ada sampai sekarang.

Abstract

Secara praksis pengembangan pariwisata dan kebudayaan memegang peranan krusial dalam kemajuan ekonomi serta penguatan identitas nasional. Salah satu destinasi wisata religi di wilayah Sleman Yogyakarta adalah komplek Sendang dan Makam K.H.R. Bagus Khasantuka. Komplek tersebut adalah masuk katagori wisata religi  di Padukuhan Senuko Desa Sidoagung Godean-Sleman. Namun, sejak tahun 2015 sampai 2024 kawasan wisata religi Makam K.H.R. Bagus Khasantuka mendapatkan tantangan dalam menghadapi era digital saat ini. Tantangan tersebut salah satunya adalah dalam  mempromosikan dan melestarikan destinasi wisata religi secara digital melalui teknologi informasi yang terpadu. Kurangnya kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat sekitar tentang pentingnya digitalisasi dalam pelestarian dan promosi sejarah lisan serta tradisi lokal menjadi salah satu hambatan utama dalam memperluas jangkauan promosi wisata. Tujuan Pengabdian ini untuk mengatasi gap antara potensi wisata religi dan realisasi kunjungan, serta rendahnya kapasitas digital masyarakat Senuko Sidoagung. Secara spesifik, program ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan digitalisasi tradisi lisan dan mengoptimalkan penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam promosi pariwisata, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan dan, pada akhirnya mendukung ekonomi lokal. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode kolaboratif antara tim Pengabdi dengan masyarakat Padukuhan Senuko melalui kegiatan sosialisasi, pelatihan pengembangan konten digital, promosi digital, teknik digitalisasi, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan dan evaluasi.  Hasil dari kegiatan Pengabdian diantaranya  masyarakat mulai terbangun kesadarannya untuk ikut mengembangkan destinasi wisata religi di komplek Sendang Bagusan dan Makam K.H.R Bagus Khasantuka dengan partisipatif aktif. Kelompok masyarakat yang telah mendapatkan pelatihan digitalisasi mendapatkan keterampilan khusus berupa pengembangan media sosial khususnya dalam pengelolaan website, instagram, tiktok, facebook dan yutube secara aktif untuk mengembangkan platform media Khasantuka.id.

Abstract

Untuk memenuhi tuntutan sumberdaya manusia yang unggul dan kompeten di bidangnya, maka guru harus membekali dirinya dengan ilmu-ilmu yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan. Hal ini dimungkinkan dengan diberinya kebebasan beraktivitas dan berkreativitas selama batas-batas wajar tertentu. Guru dituntut untuk belajar banyak, bukan hanya dari proses kegiatan belajar mengajar saja, tetapi juga dari kegiatan-kegiatan di luar yang dapat meningkatkan kompetensinya. Oleh karena itu, Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah FKIP Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta mengadakan kegiatan “Diklat Penulisan Karya Tulis Ilmiah guru MGMP Sejarah MA se-DI Yogyakarta”. Peserta pada kegiatan tersebut adalah guru-guru sejarah yang berjumlah sejumlah 53 guru. Kegiatan tersebut berlangsung selama lima hari dan dilanjutkan dengan penugasan secara mandiri terstruktur. Selain mendapatkan pengetahuan baru, peserta diklat juga berkesempatan untuk berinteraksi dan berdiskusi dengan rekan sejawat, yang dapat membuka wawasan dan menambah inspirasi dalam mengembangkan metode pengajaran. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya berfokus pada teori, tetapi juga pada praktik langsung yang memungkinkan para guru untuk mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang mereka peroleh selama diklat. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, diharapkan para guru dapat lebih termotivasi dalam menciptakan karya tulis ilmiah dan inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah mereka. Setelah kegiatan berakhir, para peserta mendapatkan sertifikat setara 32 JP yang dapat digunakan untuk pengembangan profesi. Sertifikat ini merupakan bentuk pengakuan atas komitmen dan usaha mereka dalam meningkatkan kompetensi sebagai guru. Melalui kegiatan semacam ini, MGMP Sejarah MA se-DI Yogyakarta berharap dapat terus mendukung dan mendorong para guru untuk terus berkembang dan berinovasi, sehingga dapat menciptakan generasi muda yang unggul dan kompeten di masa depan.

Abstract

This study examines the historical traces and intellectual traditions of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in its early days, focusing on NU's role in the struggle for Indonesian independence and the development of moderate and progressive religious and socio-political traditions. The background of this study is based on the importance of understanding how NU, as a religious organization rooted in the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah tradition and Islamic boarding schools, contributed to maintaining local Islamic identity, fighting Dutch colonialism, and strengthening the unity and nationalism of Muslims in Indonesia. The method used is a literature review with content analysis techniques. It collects and examines various secondary sources in the form of scientific articles, books, and research related to NU's intellectual tradition and its socio-political role. The study results show that NU has succeeded in integrating traditional values with contextual renewal of thought, through the teaching of yellow books in Islamic boarding schools and the Jihad Resolution fatwa that motivates the struggle for independence. NU also plays an active role in building a network of ulama, strengthening traditional Islamic education, and developing a nationalist movement that rejects identity politics and prioritizes moderate and tolerant Islam. The implications of this research confirm that NU is not only a normative religious organization but also a progressive and adaptive socio-political force in facing the challenges of modernity and colonialism, and has a strategic role in shaping the character of the nation and maintaining national harmony in Indonesia.

Abstract

Street children are part of marginalized communities. The presence of street children often causes stigma, such as: synonymous with violence, juvenile delinquency, and moral degradation. However, there are communities that accept, embrace, and care for street children. One of them, comes from a religious figure, namely Pastor Agus Sutikno. The figure, who has a unique and eccentric appearance, dedicates his life to caring for street children. This type of research is an interpretative Phenomenological Research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was done with data collection tools used in this study in the form of observation, documentation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The results of research showed that the ministry conducted by Pastor Agus Sutikno does not look at ethnicity, religion, race, and Customs and through this ministry, street children get education and work.

Abstract

Abstract

Sebatik Island is located in North Kalimantan Province and is a border area of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and the outermost region of Indonesia. This island is controlled by two countries, namely the northern part of Sebatik is controlled by the Kingdom of Malaysia and the southern part of Sebatik is controlled by the Republic of Indonesia with the separation of the territory using the coordinate point 4°10' according to the London Convention of 1891. This island is known as a border area, the outermost island of Indonesia, and the foremost island of the NKRI. The Sebatik community has local wisdom where in this region there are two currencies used by the community as a means of buying and selling transactions, namely the Malaysian Ringgit and the Indonesian Rupiah. This research employs a qualitative strategy through the use of case study technique. The data gathering process is carried out by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. This investigation employs data reduction, data display, and conclusion drafting as its data analysis approach. The findings of this investigation show that the life of the Sebatik community is a life that is typical of the Malindo (Malaysia – Indonesia) cross-border and various types of goods are traded between Sebatik Indonesia and Tawau Malaysia and this economic activity has been well established for decades and has become a mutual symbiosis between these two regions.
