Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of students' perceptions on the application of the Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model to the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class X1 SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. This research is motivated by low critical thinking skills students. The method in this research is pure experiment, with research design Noneequivalent posttest - only Control Group Design. The population in this study were students class IX SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan which consists of 3 classes. retrieval technique The sample used in this study is purposive sampling, so that The experimental class was selected, namely class IX 3 totaling 20. And the selected as the control class, namely class IX 2 totaling 20 students as research sample. The research instrument used is the final test. Test form used is an essay with test reliability is 0.901. Analysis technique The data used is the t-test. Based on the data analysis, it is obtained that tcount = 1.89 and ttable = 1.87, because tcount> ttable, then reject the Ho at a significant level of 0.05 so it can be concluded that the critical thinking skills of students who apply Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model is better than students' critical thinking skills apply conventional learning.

Abstract

Mathematical disposition is one aspect that influences a person's success in learning, because mathematical disposition is a person's attitude towards appreciating mathematics. This research aims to describe the mathematical disposition of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at PGRI University of West Sumatra in the Basic Statistics course. The research subjects were 28 students from the class of 2021. The instruments used were a mathematics disposition questionnaire and interview sheets. Mathematical disposition is seen using 6 indicators, namely: 1) self-confidence, 2) curiosity, 3) feeling capable, 4) happy, diligent and diligent, 5) flexible, 6) reflective. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis techniques in the form of percentages. The results of this research show that learning outcomes have increased from the average pretest score (62) to posttest score (87). Based on the results of the Shapiro-Wilk statistical test, it was obtained that 0.03 was smaller than 0.05 and had a normal distribution, so the results of this research were acceptable and had a significant effect on students' mathematical disposition through the CTL approach.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of high school students. The purpose of this research was to determine the differences in mathematical problem-solving ability between students who received instruction through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and those who experienced conventional learning in Grade XII Phase F of SMAN 2 Lubuk Sikaping, Pasaman Regency. The research employed an experimental method with a Control Group Posttest Only design. The population consisted of all Grade XII Phase F students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Samples were selected using random sampling, resulting in Grade XII F 8 as the experimental class and Grade XII F 7 as the control class. The research instrument was a problem-solving test in essay form, based on Polya’s problem-solving steps, which had been validated and showed a reliability coefficient of 0.855. Data analysis was carried out using a one-tailed t-test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students taught with the RME approach was significantly higher than that of students taught through conventional learning. This finding suggests that RME provides contextual learning experiences, encourages active participation, and fosters critical, analytical, and creative thinking skills in solving mathematical problems. Therefore, RME can be recommended as an alternative instructional strategy to enhance the quality of mathematics teaching and learning in secondary schools.

Abstract

Student learning independence is still lacking and student learning outcomes are still low is the background of this research. This study aims to determine the effect of students' mathematics learning independence after applying the Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model in class X SMKN 1 Ranah Ampek Hulu, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This study uses the One Shot Case Study research design. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression analysis. The questionnaire score regression coefficient (b) is 0.823 with a significant level of 0.05. Because the regression coefficient (b) is positive (+). So there is a positive influence between independent learning (X) on learning outcomes (Y). The closeness of the linear relationship between X and Y can be seen from the correlation coefficient r = 0.135 which means it is close to 0, so the linear relationship between X and Y is weak. The conclusion is that independent learning has an effect on student mathematics learning outcomes by using cooperative learning type Think Pair Share.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical problem-solving abilities of junior high school students on the topic of two-variable linear equation systems. The problem-solving ability indicators used in this study are in accordance with Polya's theory, namely understanding the problem, developing a solution plan, implementing the solution plan, and re-examining the procedure and results of the solution. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The sampling technique in this study uses test and interview methods. Sampling is categorized into high, medium, and low groups and is taken based on teacher recommendations. The subjects of the study were grade VIII students of SMPN 03 VII KOTO Sungai Sariak, Padang Pariaman Regency. The instrument used in the study was a descriptive test of mathematical problem-solving abilities, totaling 5 questions. Data analysis used in this study was by grouping students based on high, medium, and low abilities. The results of this study indicate that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities are still in the low category because students are still unable to understand the problem first and are less able to re-examine the answers given by the teacher.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the unavailability of innovative learning media such as digital-based E-Comics that can facilitate enjoyable and interactive learning. This study aims to develop an E-Comic-based learning media on the topic of System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) that is valid and practical for eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used included validation sheets and practicality sheets. Based on the results of data analysis, the validity of the media by media experts and material experts reached 93% with a very valid category. The practicality test by teachers obtained a score of 93% with a very practical category, while the practicality test by students reached 87% with a very practical category. It can be concluded that the developed E-Comic learning media is valid and practical for use in teaching the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi mahasiswa dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada mata kuliah Aljabar Dasar dan Trigonometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari delapan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika yang dipilih menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel total. Pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing diimplementasikan melalui pemberian arahan, pengajuan pertanyaan, dan dukungan bertahap untuk membantu mahasiswa menyelesaikan masalah aljabar dan trigonometri secara kolaboratif. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan lembar observasi keterampilan kolaborasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji paired sample t-test, serta perhitungan N-gain dan effect size. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa setelah penerapan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing (t(7) = 13,69; p < 0,001) dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,61 (kategori sedang) dan effect size yang sangat besar (Cohen’s d = 4,84). Uji non-parametrik Wilcoxon sebagai pembanding juga menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan (p < 0,01), sehingga memperkuat temuan penelitian. Selain itu, keterampilan kolaborasi mahasiswa menunjukkan perkembangan positif selama proses pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil observasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan bila diterapkan di kelas kecil untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi mahasiswa dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi awal untuk pengembangan pembelajaran matematika di pendidikan tinggi yang berorientasi pada aktivitas dan kolaborasi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research is motivated because the LKPD used as a companion to mathematics learning activities at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti is less interesting for students and has not utilized technology. The purpose of the study was to determine the validity and practicality of Problem Based Learning based differentiated E-LKPD on SPLTV class X material at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The stages in this study include analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments used are validation questionnaire and practicality questionnaire which are useful to see the validity and practicality of E-LKPD. Based on the validator's assessment, the validity of the Problem Based Learning-based differentiated E-LKPD was 76.97% with a valid category. The final score of the practicality of the one-on-one trial with the math teacher obtained a final score of 91.67% in the very practical category. The final score of the practicality of the one- on-one trial with students obtained a final score of 98.81% with a very practical category. The final value of the practicality of the small group trial by students was obtained at 96.83% with a very practical category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning-based differentiated E-LKPD on SPLTV material at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti is known to be valid and practical for use by teachers and students

Abstract

The development of 21st-century skills, particularly collaboration and critical thinking, has become a central objective in contemporary mathematics education. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is considered a promising intellectual strategy for supporting these competencies through contextual problem-solving activities and structured social interactions. However, emperiecal evidence on the simultaneous contribution on both critical thinking and collaborative skills remains limited. This study aims to assess the effect of the RME approach on students’ critical thinking and collaborative skill in mathematics learning. A quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design involving sixty students, divided into an experimental group receiving RME instruction (n = 30) and a control group receiving conventional instruction (n = 30). The research instruments included a critical thinking skills test and an observation-based collaboration skills assessment. Data were analyzed using Multivariate analysis of Covariance to assess the combined effects of RME while controlling for initial abilities .The results revealed that the experimental group ashowed significantly higher posttest scores in critical thinking skills (M = 82.15) compored to the control group (M = 70.46), with N-Gain scores of 0.61 and 0.35, respectively. Similarly, students’ collaborative skills in the experimental group (M = 84.27) were higher than those in the control group (M = 71.15). Multivariate analysis confirmed a statistically significant effect of RME on both critical thinking and collaboration. These findings suggest that RME effectively enhances students' cognitive and social competencies and can serve as an alternative strategy for mathematics instruction.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of eighth grade students of SMPN 12 Padang. This study aims to determine whether student learning outcomes with the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) model are better than the implementation of conventional learning at SMPN 12 Padang. This type of research is an experimental study with a True Experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. This study was conducted with two sample class groups, the first experimental class that applies the TPS model and the second control class that uses the conventional learning model (PBL). The sampling of both samples was carried out using a Random Sampling technique consisting of 9 sample populations. The population of this study was eighth grade students of SMPN 12 Padang. The instrument used in this study was a Post-test in the form of an essay. The test statistics used for hypothesis testing were the t-test, because the two sample classes were not normally distributed. The results of the hypothesis test obtained t_count = 4.7 and t_table = -1.6. Since t_calculated > t_table with a significance level of 0.05, H_0 is rejected, meaning the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 12 Padang using the Think Pair Share (TPS) model are better than those using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.
